Warrior

The ripples of water that formed over the rough paved path with various sizes of puddles all over the surface formed a calm scene in front of the man walking down the path that was surrounded by tall, unruly green grass that glistened due to the rain which only enchanted the scenery.

The man walking had drenched slick back hair with no shirt on, exposing his shiny pale yet muscular skin. He only wore a leather strap that kept his large sword on his back, leather shoulder guards and a leather skirt with sandals on. His muscles were very chiseled and looked like they could bulge out of his skin at any moment, accompanied with his 1.8 meter height, he looked like a very strong warrior. This was mostly due to the sheer amount of physical labor the man had to endure since he was 6 years old by his grandfather. Everyday, the old but strict and stern man would always remind the boy,

"You should've been the one to die, your parents could have given birth to another strong warrior if they survived, yet here you are.. You carry their burdens now whether you want to or not, so get up! Prove to me their sacrifice was the correct choice! Show me my son and his wife passed on everything from their bloodlines to you, Kubera!"

Kubera treasured those harsh words from his grandfather as that was what helped him most in this treacherous world, his family and their sacrifice. His life could be compared to a furnace, just like how iron ore is thrown into a boiling hot and chaotic environment, the impurities are melted away and only the precious metal remains after the chaos ends.

Having lost both parents and having to be taken care of by the father of his dead father and forced to carry the burden his parents left him with, it was a chaotic time for Kubera. The only gift from his parents being a necklace with a precious stone inside of it that he wore every day. Yet here he is now, 16 years old and stronger than he could've ever imagined, although normal city kids wouldn't really think of becoming a warrior as they are fixated on having fun and enjoying the comfortable life provided by their parents and various statuses, he was no city kid.

Kubera finally reached his destination after walking for miles without end. It was the fishing village owned by the Ufera Syndicate which consisted of 4 Legions which were the major powerhouses of that region.

He is one of the thousands of Warriors within the Manticore's Legion which is allied with the 3 other legions which forms the Ufera Syndicate. They oversee the SouthWest Region of Arctov, which is a Continent that is over 30 million square kilometers and is known as a treasure trove that has held many undiscovered treasures and mysteries for thousands of years waiting to be uncovered. However, the danger that lurks in this Continent is what keeps people sober.. No one can enter the undiscovered regions of this continent unprepared without suffering from the wrath of the demons that lurk there.

The Selkies are one of the more common creatures that have been a pain for everyone in the Continent for generations, they are especially common in the Ufera Syndicate. Although it is unknown exactly why, a majority of humans concluded it is due to the weather in the region. The constant rain mixed with the dense forest gives the selkies perfect ambush opportunities as they can walk on land in the rain for as long as the rain persists, although they could walk on land without rain if they use their water tanks to breath moisture.

Half human and half seal with the ability to remove or put on their seal skin, allowing them to switch between land or sea form, selkies are very adept on land and even more so in water. And not to mention there are different types of Selkies that can be found: The Harpoonist, The Shaman, and the Warrior. The Harpoonist being one of the scariest of the bunch to humans, as they can shoot their harpoons on land just as well as they do in water.

There are even occasional water phantoms that can be found throughout the Ufere Syndicate. They appear when large amounts of corpses are in an area where it rains. They'll form from a nearby puddle and swirl upwards into the sky, creating a ball of water that absorbs the blood soaked in the soil and from the corpses, creating a water phantom.

Their appearance are easy to notice for they take on the appearance of some human, but their entire body is made of water that is the color of blood. They function through a core within the stomach region as that's where any nearby blood is absorbed into.  Although it is unknown as to why they appear, they can continuously grow if not taken care of. They use the blood from their core to form weapons such a blood scythes to kill more creatures for blood, they're sometimes referred to as 'The rain's reaper'.

Kubera finally arrived to the building he was told to go to. He entered a 3 story building that stood out from the rest of the huts in the fishing village. Inside he was instantly bombarded with the smell of alcohol. Numerous tables in the village's only inn were filled with warriors but only a few citizens from the village, most of those citizens being women. The warriors all had a picture of a manticore head on their right leather shoulder, making it clear to everyone here that these warriors were from the Manticore Legion. Although people didn't even need to see the manticore head on the warriors shoulders to know where they were from, the warriors all emitted a strong aura with an awful bloodlust under it that was hard to conceal. Only Manticore Warriors were known for being one of the strongest and most fearsome of warriors, having seen plenty of battles by the time they were 15. Now those warriors were in yet another battle in this inn, and that was who can bring the prettiest girl in this inn to their room.

"Hey baby! Name's Skandith, all my years in battle, my heart has never beaten more then now after seeing you. Don't believe me? Put your hand here.."

"Your skin's as smooth as my blade, the name's Ombrul, miss."

"Bitch come here! Why are you walking away?! Ahh whatever, you didn't have ass anyways."

Kubera only glanced at this scene once, directing all his focus to the man working the counter. The man behind the counter also had a manticore head, but the picture was located on his left chest. Kubera saluted to this man before stating in a military manner, "Kubera, Warrior of the mighty Manticore Legion, has finished training and is now under your command, awaiting further instructions, Sir!"
