16 Chapter 15: Answers

The room was completely silent except for the sound of Ryek eating and drinking. She stopped, walked back up to him and said, "Thank you for bringing back what you could save. Did you burn it?" Knowing what she was referring to, he simply nodded his head. She returned to her dinner and he simply stood there watching her, slowly mulling over everything she said in his mind. He knew what her answer was, however, he wanted to hear her say it aloud. He wanted to hear her say she loved him and wanted to be his bride. He wanted to say, that for whatever reason, he loved her too.

So he walked over to her and pulled the other chair to her side and asked, "Will you be accompanying me as my betrothed or as my slave?"

She turned to him with a mouth full of wine and looked at him like he was completely insane. She swallowed the wine, his eyes watching every movement she made. His silver eyes moving from her throat, up her neck, past her pink lips, all the way to her beautiful eyes. He watched as her lips parted preparing to answer the most important question he had ever asked her.
