"Hey, you guys." Cried out Kabuto from afar. "You shouldn't make so much noise."

"Fuck off." I smiled at his face while killing intent covered the room. I hated this guy. I hated his guts, I hated his face, I hated all his existence. If there was an overly pampered character with no worth at all it was this shithole.

Tragic past? Fuck it. The guy was looking for excuses to kill all the elemental nations for nothing. No revenge, no goal. And how did he lose? The fucking loop showed him the value of his name? For fuck sake!

"That is not nic—" Sakura started but I turned to look at her with an even more vibrant smile.

"Fuck off."

"I—" Sakura froze on her feet. But I didn't care. I looked at Kabuto and removed my Kunai.

"Go away or I will kill you right here right now." I meant it. Not that I could kill him. I knew I couldn't. But nor could he. He was a spy. Acting weak and useless. Welp, he is useless, so he is acting weak. If I try to kill him, he will use minimal force to deflect it, but I am positive I can kill him in surprise. But he can't. He can't reveal his strength or he would die.

"You will not be able to participate if you kill me," Kabuto smirked.

"Do I look like I give a fuck about this exam?" I asked with a tilt of my head.

"Fine! I am going away." He turned back and walked away.

"Kou, what is wrong with that guy?" Shikamaru asked with a squint.

"I didn't like the vibe he was giving. Be careful if you see him." I warned the others. All five teams nodded and the small episode of conflict ended with it. Ibiki arrived and told us to quiet down. In the next second, the exam began.

I was seated next to one hidden Chunin and Ame Kunoichi. But I couldn't care less. I didn't fill in from the start. I put my head on the table and dozed off. Kabuto's arrival pissed me off royally, and I was in no mood for a silly test. In no time at all, I was fast asleep.

I was shaken awake by the fake Chunin. I turned to look at him. I was about to lash out when Ibiki's voice reverberated in the room.

"Why are you sleeping?"

"I am sleepy," I answered nonchalantly.

"How about the exam?" He asked with anger.

"How about it?" I asked with a smile.

"Now that the time has ended, how do you intend to pass?"

"I put all my money on the last question," I smirked. He looked at me with a squint but ignored it for the next second. When he declared that those who took the last question and failed to answer would be banned from taking the exam ever again, people started to leave.

Since Naruto was a lot different, the small scene in the anime never happened, and more people left. And after a boring scar displaying session, Anko arrived to take us. Boring stuff.

A total of 24 teams passed.

We went to the entrance of the Forest of Death to take our scrolls. Again, no Anko scarring Naruto and Orochimaru appearing with his ugly mug scene happened. I went to take the Heaven scroll and placed it in the inventory. Now no one beside me could take it even if they wanted to.

As we were waiting for other teams to take their scrolls, I pointed at a red-head at a distance and said, "Naruto, that girl is an Uzumaki?"

"Huh? Like the clan I have you told me about?" Naruto looked shocked and excited.

"Yup, one and only. Can't you feel any kindredship?" He nudged him, "Doesn't her blood beckon yours?"

"None of that." Naruto tilted his head, "Though, I feel something. Oh, it is just gas. Burp."

"Dumbass." I muttered. Though it probably was something. Either Kurama or Kushina in his stomach acted out.

"What can I do? She is from another village…" Naruto sighed helplessly. He knew politics were fickle.

"We will see. If we get a chance, you can go and talk to her." I just shrugged my shoulders.

As soon as we entered the forest, my mood drastically changed and the air around me turned heavier.

"Naruto, create as many clones and send them to every direction. Always keep a circle around us." I ordered. "Hinata, activate Byakugan and keep an eye out. If you see massive chakra let me know. We will walk to the outer perimeter of the forest and meet with Team 10 first. Let's go."

"Alright!" Naruto exclaimed and created 250 clones and sent them around.

Hinata too nodded and started to look around.

Since Kabuto is here, it means Orochimaru is here too. Why? What is their angle? I was suspicious when I saw Suna Trio. After all, without a plan, Kazekage wouldn't send his children to another village. But it was just a hunch.

Why did Orochimaru attack Konoha? He wanted to give Sasuke a cursed mark and he attacked in passing. That was what I thought. But now that he is here, it means he has another goal. Did he really want to kill Hiruzen? Why? He is just a clown now. No one besides Naruto respects the old man anymore.

So why? He wouldn't try to kill Tsunade, right? But now that I fucked the plot, not regretting it at all, I don't know what else can change.

"Any news?" I asked as we walked for more than ten minutes.

"I can see Ino and others are moving towards us. Other than that, nothing." Hinata reported.

"36 clones dissipated. One encountered the guy with the tattoo. It died immediately. Rest, I didn't even see. Probably an enemy in ambush." Naruto too reported.

"It is fine." I nodded and kept on walking. Soon we met with Team 10.

"Hello, guys. Sorry to drag you but I promised my father-in-law that I would protect my Pumpkin." I stated.

"It is fine. With you around, things should be easier." Shikamaru lazily said. Choji nodded.

"It is good then. Let's hunt some poor bastards." I smirked. "What scroll do you have?"

"Earth." Ino showed.

"Good, we have Heaven. Now we can hunt both scrolls." I nodded as we started to move. We walked all around the forest for two days, moving towards the tower.

"Fast enemy with a huge chakra approaching," Hinata reported when it was our third day. We already had two sets of scrolls and were going to the tower.

"Where is he heading?" I asked warily.

"To us, directly." She answered with terror.

"ETA?"

"Ten minutes."

"Fuck."

"Let's split up." I sighed. "Five of you move towards the tower. He can't act wantonly there. After stalling, I will catch up."

"NO!" Five of them answered at the same time.

"This is not a request, you know." I shook my head. "I am the vice-captain of both teams."

"How are you our vice-captain?" Shikamaru said in annoyance.

"Welp, My Pumpkin is your vice-captain and I am her hubby. So that makes me vice-captain too."

"You are not my hubby, you asshole." Ino scoffed. "And as the vice-captain, I refuse to leave you here."

"Oh, come on guys. I am great at running. You all know it. I promise I will be fine." After trying to convince them for more than five minutes, they finally decided to move and ran away.

"Go that direction." I pointed in a direction and with that, Naruto and the others quickly retreated. I looked at the direction where the threat was coming, as I prepared my cards. I hope I can survive this.

Naruto didn't understand why Koushin had sent him this way, but he trusted his brother. As he sprinted through the forest, he suddenly heard a scream. He didn't hesitate and sped towards the sound, only to find a girl with bright red hair about to be slashed by a massive bear.

Naruto's eyes caught a flash of red. It was Karin, and she was in trouble. A bear was about to slash her, and without a second thought, Naruto leaped into action. He managed to swipe just in time, saving Karin from the bear's claws. In a swift motion, he carried Karin away in a princess carry, their eyes locking for a moment.

'Isn't this the girl Koushin showed me?' He thought to himself. He always wanted to find more about his mother's clan, and now that he encountered one, he couldn't help but feel close to the girl.

Karin's heart raced as she stared into the eyes of her savior. The deep blue eyes looking down on her's, made her soul quiver, butterflies flutter in her stomach. Her heart started to beat up. Her senses were going haywire. The chakra he was feeling from Naruto was so warm, so accommodating. So amazing.

Naruto couldn't help but glance down at Karin in his arms. "You okay?" he asked, concern lacing his voice.

Karin blushed, her heart still pounding. "Y-yeah, thank you."

"No problem!" Naruto grinned, not realizing the effect his smile had on Karin. "By the way, I'm Naruto Uzumaki, and Koushin told me you're an Uzumaki like me! That's so cool! We're like... family or something!"

Karin's blush deepened. "Yeah, I'm Karin Uzumaki. Nice to meet you, Naruto."

"I think you can drop her now, Naruto-kun." Hinata at this time appeared next to Naruto with a bright smile but underneath was jealousy and threat of painful times.

"Y-Yes, Hinata-chan." Naruto shivered, as he put Karin down, and they started to listen to her story. Karin was left to die by her team, and feeling Naruto's chakra, she started to spill everything. How her mother was killed by Kusa Village, how she was always abused and they used her ability to heal. Her body was filled with bite marks, and she didn't want to go back.

"You should come with us, Karin-chan, I will speak with Grandma Tsunade and we will take you in. Don't worry." Naruto said indignantly. He was royally pissed at those assholes.

"Really, Naruto? You'd do that for me?" Karin asked, her eyes shimmering with hope and gratitude.

"Of course! No one should be treated like that, especially family!" Naruto declared, puffing his chest out proudly. "And since we're both Uzumakis, that means we're family!"

Hinata, though feeling a bit jealous, couldn't help but smile at Naruto's kindness. "That's right, Karin-chan. We'll all help you."

Karin's eyes welled up with tears, and she hugged Naruto tightly. "Thank you, Naruto. Thank you so much!"

Naruto blushed, caught off guard by the sudden hug, but patted her back gently. "No problem, Karin-chan! Just doing what's right!"

As the group continued on their way, Karin couldn't help but steal glances at Naruto. She felt something warm and comforting emanating from him, and it made her heart flutter. She knew she had to protect that feeling, that warmth, no matter what.
