Change of Fate !

In Hokage's office, The Third Hokage , Hiruzen Sarutobi watched the events through a crystal ball and murmured, "Chakra depletion."

Taking a break from his work, Hiruzen had used a telescope jutsu to observe the village and had come across this interesting altercation. He was well aware of Uchiha Chizuru's situation—her parents had sacrificed their lives for the village when she was just five years old. Subsequently, she had awakened Sharingan and become the Uchiha clan's main prodigy.

To awaken Sharingan at such a young age was a testament to her incredible talent.

In only one year, she had exhibited remarkable growth.

Hiruzen noted that her abilities were already akin to those of a genin, which could suggest that she can already graduate from the ninja academy.

However, to his knowledge, the Uchiha clan had opted to enroll her in the academy.

"They're not giving up, it seems," Hiruzen mused.

He had a fair understanding of the Uchiha clan's motives for sending Chizuru to the academy: to allow her to continue growing in a conducive environment while also showcasing the clan's strength and maintaining their presence in the school. Since the Second Hokage's death, the village had become increasingly hostile towards the Uchiha clan, leading to their diminished status.

The Third Hokage wished the Uchiha clan to be treated fairly, but other village inhabitants had strong objections against them.

As a result, Hiruzen had to make certain compromises.

"Bang!"

The office door swung open forcefully, and Hiruzen turned his gaze towards the intruder—a familiar figure exuding an ominous aura. It was his friend and advisor, Danzo Shimura.

Hiruzen gestured for the doorman to leave, motioned for Danzo and himself to stay alone, and then inquired, "Danzo, what do you need?"

Danzo got straight to the point, saying, "Sarutobi, the Root needs replenishment."

"Danzo, you're aware that our battle with the rain and the sand is already at a critical stage. Our personnel on the battlefield are stretched thin, and the village's defense forces are also severely lacking. We simply don't have the available personnel to support your request," The Sandaime firmly rejected Danzo's request.

The forces led by Danzo, known as "Root," had grown quite formidable and were starting to pose a threat even to the Anbu. Sandaime was determined not to allow Root to continue expanding. Despite the significant contributions Root had made on the battlefield, the Sandaime's stance remained unchanged.

Danzo was well aware of the village's limited personnel resources, but he was unrelenting in his demand, responding coldly, "Hmph, the contributions made by Root are undeniable, and we've sacrificed many for the sake of the village. We must replenish our ranks promptly. I make no guarantees that our intelligence operations will continue smoothly without additional manpower."

The Third Hokage contemplated Danzo's words but knew the limitations of the village's resources. He also understood that Danzo was using this as leverage to gain more influence.

However, he couldn't ignore the importance of the information Root provided from the frontlines. If the flow of information were disrupted, the situation on the battlefield could quickly turn against Konoha, resulting in significant losses.

Hiruzen, though reluctantly, agreed to consider the matter further.

"Alright, no need for that tone how about this, Nonetheless, he didn't intend to provide more personnel to Root. Instead, he suggested, "If you're in need, you can visit the prominent ninja clans within the village."

In addition to the ninja academy graduates, a significant portion of the village's ninja force was family-nurtured ninjas belonging to various major clans. By proposing that Danzo recruit from these clans, Hiruzen was also using the opportunity to gauge the clans' attitudes.

"Hmph, those clan members who prioritize their own interests over the village aren't worth much," Danzo responded with a disdainful tone, instantly seeing through Hiruzen's intentions.

"Then it appears I have no other choice," the Third Hokage declared.

Danzo had failed to secure additional personnel from Hiruzen this time, and his gaze grew increasingly cold as he continued to stare at the Hokage.

Unperturbed, Hiruzen focused on his paperwork and lit a cigarette, seemingly oblivious to Danzo's icy glare.

Unwilling to back down, Danzo decided to shift his request, suggesting, "In that case, I request that you hand over the orphans from the orphanage to me."

The Third Hokage put down the ninja academy application forms he had been reviewing and turned his attention to Danzo, considering the pros and cons of this new proposal.

The orphans living in the village's orphanage were vulnerable individuals, often overlooked by society. The Third Hokage initially paid little attention to them. However, the recent revelation about Kirito Tohsaka being an orphan had left a strong impression. Seeing Kirito's remarkable battle against Uchiha Chizuru, the Hokage had come to appreciate the potential hidden within these children.

Coincidentally, the application form for Kirito Tohsaka, an orphan from the orphanage, was on the Hokage's desk. Kirito's exceptional performance against Uchiha Chizuru had elevated him in the Hokage's eyes. Now, he believed that Kirito possessed great potential. After witnessing Kirito's battle, the Third Hokage had high expectations for him. The fact that a helpless orphan could hold his own against Uchiha Chizuru indicated exceptional ninja talent.

These thoughts raced through the Hokage's mind, and he couldn't allow Kirito to fall into Danzo's hands.

"No, why would Danzo suddenly show an interest in the orphanage? Those kids have no combat abilities, and even if they were to join Root, they'd be of little use. Could it be that his real motive is..."

A realization struck the Third Hokage, and he made his decision. He couldn't allow Kirito to fall into Danzo's grasp, as the boy might become one of Danzo's trusted agents in the future.

With this determination, the Third Hokage refused Danzo's request firmly, stating, "The orphans in the orphanage are precious sprouts of our village. They should continue to grow under our protection, just as the First and Second Hokage envisioned."

Danzo's request was rejected once more, and he grew furious, shouting, "You will regret this, Hiruzen."

"I am the Hokage," the Third Hokage replied sternly.

Kirito found himself in a somewhat perplexing situation after receiving a sudden prompt and a reward from his system while heading to the village library.

The message stated: [You successfully changed the fate of

He couldn't quite fathom why he had managed to change Nono's fate when Danzo hadn't even approached her yet. It seemed highly unlikely that Danzo or the Sandaime would show any mercy for no reason. Furthermore, Kirito had never received such prompts or rewards before, and he was left wondering if the enhancement point he had seen at the bottom of his property panel had been acquired through this method.

His thoughts raced as he contemplated the possibilities. Changing the fate of characters in the plot was likely an encouragement to disrupt the original storyline, and this left him pondering Nawaki fate. He couldn't ignore the possibility of him dying due to stepping on a detonator trap, and wished to do something about it.

With the newfound enhancement point in his possession, Kirito contemplated how to make the best use of it. He examined the numerous options on his attribute panel and realized that all of them could be upgraded with just one enhancement point. After careful consideration, his gaze settled on wisdom 2.

Wisdom 2 was an attribute value he had long been dissatisfied with. He had come to understand that wisdom was linked to IQ and knowledge reserves, and despite being 6 year old, the attribute remained at 2. This indicated that his widsom was currently associated with his IQ.

While a wisdom value of 2 was considered normal for most people in the world, Kirito couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with it. He believed that by investing the enhancement point into wisdom, it would not only raise his IQ but also expand his knowledge base. He couldn't help but imagine himself becoming a genuine genius.

If the IQ of ordinary people was at a wisdom level of 2, then increasing it to 3 would certainly position him as a genius above the norm. At this stage, he believed that wisdom was the most useful attribute for him, allowing him to unlock his potential and become truly exceptional.

Superior memory was the most notable change Kirito experienced after upgrading his attribute from 2 to 3. He marveled at how some individuals could excel academically despite minimal effort; their high IQ and exceptional memory allowed for efficient learning.

To test this newfound ability, Kirito picked up a detailed medical book authored by Tsunade herself, titled "Basics of Medicine." Although rich in content, the book's use of complex medical terms and graphic illustrations made it challenging to read. However, Kirito, who had some prior medical knowledge, found it more accessible than the average reader. His enhanced memory allowed him to memorize and recall the content easily.

Afterward, Kirito delved into a basic book on sealing techniques, eager to see how his improved memory and IQ would aid his understanding of this complex field.

Kirito had gained a significant boost in memory and computational power after upgrading his wisdom attribute to 3. He could now perform mental arithmetic with ease, solving various mathematical problems presented in the book without the need for pen and paper. His newfound confidence in this dangerous world filled with powerful ninja terrorists spurred him on to dedicate himself to further improvement.
