23 Chapter 23 Memory

Sand Stronghold.

Inside the camp,

"He's pretty good"

"Truly versatile!"

Watching Kazuki suturing the wounds like an expert, the surgeons around couldn't help but admire him.

They already knew about his abilities on battlefield but even in medical field he seemed pretty good, a truly versatile shinobi.

Tsunade without saying anything continued to apply chakra on wounds but her one eye was on the silver haired kid almost as tall as her.

The face with a serious look and sharp focused eyes with maturity inconsistent with the age in them.

*Stay Focused Tsunade!!*

Unknowingly a memory of the past suddenly played in her head, the blonde girl barely reaching the age of ten being strictly guided by a man with silver shaggy hair and red eyes and three red lines on his face, he wore a blue armor with black outfit underneath, instead of a forehead protector he had put on a grey happuri with the leaf sign on it.

The man in her memory suddenly began to blur and started to overlap with the figure next to her.

"It's done, Lady Tsunade!"

But the voice pulled Tsunade out of her thoughts, Kazuki who had closed the wound informing about it.

"Good, let's move on to the next one!"

Shaking her head Tsunade who was just confused at what just happened to her brought her focus back to work and immediately called for the next patient.

Sunagakure.

One of the great five villages Sunagakure surrounded by desert had a strong natural deterrent against invasion, as few would be able to endure sand storms and shortage of water to invade.

The village itself was situated in a fortified valley behind cliffs of rocks, with passage in an out of the village restricted to a single cleft between two cliff faces, making the area very hard to attack from the ground.

Most of the buildings inside the village were made of clay, able to provide a coolant affect.

Sand Hospital.

The whole hospital was flooded with the wounded from the recent battle, but in the hospital at the top floor was a separate room for those were prioritized.

In the room on two separate beds next to each other sat two figure, one a boy around 13 years old and having auburn hair and the other a girl of same age with orange hair and some strands of green within them.

Rasa sat on the bed with small bandages all over his body, but the most attention catching was his right eye completely covered with a bandage.

Pakura on the bed next to his had small wounds tended to already but both her arms like Rasa were also wrapped in bandages.

Both of them sat silent on the bed and just kept staring at the bed with a dull face, like they had received a huge shock going numb.

Aside from them Chiyo and Third Kazekage were present in the room as well, there gaze on Rasa and Pakura.

"The physical wounds they received are not of concern, but how would they overcome this mental barrier is the worth thinking about!"

Said Chiyo to Kazekage, having lived so long she could understand the state both Rasa and Pakura were.

Both of them were young and had lofty and huge ambitions but both of them were given a cruel reality check, they were taught a lesson which they couldn't deny or come up with an excuse to blame on.

Both of them battled some younger than them and lost fair and square and if it weren't for being rescued they would have already died in his hands.

"Any information about the shinobi they battled?"

Kazekage was silent for a while at her words and just kept stating at the dull duo, after a while thinking of something he inquired about it.

"In any of the previous battles he wasn't spotted on the battlefield and seems to have just arrived, we don't even know his name yet"

Told Chiyo what Sand's intelligence forces had dug about this enemy, basically nothing.

Even Rasa and Pakura who battled him didn't get his name and other facts like being good at Water Style and how he looks, they already know from those who witnessed the fight.

"I see! what about Hanzo? Any explanation from his side?" Asked Kazekage with anger clear on his face, what pissed him most was not Rasa and Pakura losing but the betrayal of Amegakure.

Rasa and Pakura gave there all and lost fair and square, he didn't truly have a reason to be angry at them as they seemed to have encountered someone of the level of Tsunade, Orochimaru and Jiraiya.

But Hanzo, because of him they kept battling despite knowing that the causalities have reached a point where they can't keep going anymore.

The hope that help reinforcements will arrive brought great losses to them.

"We have sent a messenger already! He'll be back with the explanation by tomorrow!"

"Then hold a meeting tomorrow, we have a lot to discuss on!"

Thup!

Said Kazekage in a serious tone and walked out of the room next moment, leaving Chiyo next to Rasa and Pakura.
