1 The Death of a Great Being

Upon a great mountain along the border of the Human Kingdom, one could see the surrounding landscape in vivid detail. However, there were no interesting sights to see, only barren wastelands.

Within this barren wasteland, Frudak lay upon the scalding sand. Being a sorcerer, he felt no discomfort from the heat.

Words drifted out into the empty wasteland, "This is it . . . My time has come."

Frudak, reaching the age of 342 through the use of preservation magic, was an aged and withered man. A shell of his former glory. He lay upon his fanciful robe that gave off a shimmer of light. If others were here they would recognize the robe as a powerful artifact.

Knowing his end was near, Frudak decided to find a suitable resting place. Upon the death of any living creature, their Mana would be released into the surrounding environment. The Mana would then be used to create new life. The death of an expert with a large quantity of Mana would be able to turn a desert into a haven for life.

Frudak, knowing this, decided for his death to be upon the Southern Wastelands. To create a beautiful forest will be his final work before his death.

Frudak cast his final spell before his death. It was a modified Mana gathering array formation. Instead of gathering Mana from the surrounding environment, it used the subject within the formation to release boundless amounts of Mana using their life source.

And with that final cast, the world had lost the great Arch Mage Frudak and replaced him with a boundless forest that would provide for people generations to come.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Within the Imperial Capital of the Human Nation, the life token of the current Adventurer Guild Master had broken, giving anguish for all Adventurers. The first guild master and founder of the Adventurer Guild had died.

The Guild Master, Frudak, died a lonesome death away from any people he knew. Having no close friends and outliving all of his family, this was suitable.

The Vice Guild Master then took his place, mournfully. A great being had been lost and she had to take his position. A decree was set out by the new Guild Master.

It stated, "We shall not forget the great deeds of Founder Frudak. The goal of the Adventurer Guild has always been to increase the strength of its members and seek the undiscovered. Now the Adventurer's Guild shall also work to prove to The Founder that his death was not in vain. We shall retain the glory of the Adventurer Guild till the end of time. We will mourn The Founder's death; however; would he want us to just grieve him? We shall remember this day as a day of celebration where we remember the deeds of the greatest sorcerer to ever live. We must remember what he did in life, not of his death."

Frudak's legacy therefore lived on in all the hearts of adventurers.
