1 The Chase

(Ashley POV)

His hands on either side of her face he growled, "Run! Get out of here."

My heart broke. I reached my hands up and wrapped them around his neck. "Oh Sam, what did they do to you?" I said pulling our heads together so I could look him in the yes. Sam eyes were laced in pain and anger, at some points I could feel him shaking. With our heads so close, his breath was warm on my cheek.

"You need to go! Run!" He forced out through clenched teeth.

I felt the tears start to pour out. "No. I won't leave you. Not now, not ever."

Sam was able to lift his hands and rub the tears away. "I love you Ashley, but you need to run. I won't let them have you." He said trying to push me away. "Go now!"

It seemed the more he kept pushing me away, the more my heart broke. "Run! Now!" Finally pushing me away, I stumbled backwards, tears running down my face. "Run!" he screamed.

No, I can't leave him, I thought, but it seemed like my body went against everything my heart and mind wanted. Running through the forest felt like a blur, the farther I was away from Sam, the stronger my heart beat for him. In the distance was a howl then growling quickly replaced it. Pausing to take a quick breather, there was a soft rustling. Not sure what was going on I quickly moved farther into the trees. Running as fast as I could a screech came from behind me, causing me to trip over an uprooted tree root. Falling I wrapped my arms around my head. Only to feel hands grasp my arms.

Not knowing how it happened I was lifted into the air.

(Sam POV)

I watched as Ashley's form slowly faded away. My heart broke into so many pieces the farther she got. I was determined. They would not have her. Of all things they would not have her.

A soft growl could be heard from behind me. My body turned as fast as I could. There they stood. The people who betrayed me, the ones who wanted everything I have. My brothers. All three of them were always jealous of me. Those three would do anything to ruin my life.

Dante was the oldest; tall, dark, and handsome type. Damitri was next; he was the quiet one, he liked to keep to himself most of the time but is very loyal. Dominic was the popular one. He was the quarterback on the football team and everyone loved him.

Our parents were surprised when they had me. I tried to stay to myself and not cause trouble. It's hard to believe that I have been hated my whole life.

Dante was the only one in his human form, "Where is the girl, Sam?"

"Now why would I tell you that?"

"Sam." He gave a warning.

"I don't car. You three have taken everything from me. She is the only thing I won't let you take from me." The pain that traveled through my body was horrible. Dropping to the ground, I let out a scream. Bones breaking and then reforming themselves, shoulder blades growing into my wings, face growing, claws extending to a point. The fur coat grew all over my skin.

"Fine, It's your choice." Called Dante. Right after he changed as well.

Here we all stood. Four brothers. One trying to protect what was his and the others trying to take what was it.

I launched myself into the air, flying in the opposite direction Ashley went. I had to get them away. Looking behind me, Dante and Dominic were right behind me. I screeched. No. Out in the distance, Dimatri's form could be seen; in his hands was the shape of a body. With my body acting on its own, I end up facing my two brothers.

We all attacked each other at the same time. None of us wanted to give the other the upper hand. I managed to claw at Dante's face, blood welling up. Dominic wanted to tackle me, but I flipped my body and used my rear claws, scratching his belly. I soon was watching them fall.

Not wasting any more time, I fly off in a chase after Damitri letting out a vicious screech.
