1 Prologue

I am Xerath, an agent tasked to help hunters on their hunts by managing the corpses of their kills, managing their schedules, equipment, food, etc.

but one unfortunate day when I was guiding newbie hunters through a supposedly E-Rank Forest Zone.

A fucking S-Ranked Monster appeared, I was shitting my pants and so did the newbie hunters, what was the fucking chance of a monster that needed like 100 B-Rank Hunters, 50 A-Rank hunters, and 5 S-Rank Hunters to slaughter?

It was Spider but not just any spider, It was tall as a pine tree, was as big as a fucking bus, and had a scorpion stinger on its back.

"I-It-Its an Alpha Arachne," An E-Ranked Newbie hunter said while peeing his pants.

"Calm down, It still does not see us" I replied

"Let quietly walk away, Alpha Arachne has poor eyesight so It often depends on its ears" I ordered to them.

We slowly and quietly tiptoed away.

"Slow and Steady" I whispered to them.

We were gaining some distance and were slowly getting away until an E-Ranked Goblin appeared and started to run at us.

"SHIT!" I yelled

The Alpha Arachne hissed from afar and we heard its footstep getting closer

The Goblin was easily killed as it was just an E-Ranked monster.

As I hear the loud footsteps getting closer I see that some of the newbie hunters started running, while some just fell to the ground as they despair, I know that it is futile to run as the Alpha Arachne can easily outrun us.

"Fuck" I say with despair

I contemplated my life, I lost my parents at an early age and became an orphan, back then I trained like a mad man to numb the pain and hopefully get revenge for my parents for the monsters that killed them but I lost the motivation when I learned I was not gifted in Aura or Mana but I persevered and became an Agent, to assist hunters and get the revenge I wanted in another way. I was in this line of job for almost 12 years now. These newbie hunters had wives and kids waiting for them at home while I had none I thought to myself.

"Get up and Run!" I ordered the hunters that were on the ground.

"I'll buy you guys some time so start running!" I yelled to them

They picked themselves up and started sprinting

I reach for my dagger and throw it at one of its eyes.

The dagger flew and just bounced right off its skin.

The dagger did nothing but gave the Alpha Arachne a chance to get angry at me.

I ran like hell in the opposite direction of where the newbie hunters ran.

I skillfully weaved through the trees to gain some extra seconds so the newbie hunters can gain even more distance.

But I know deep in my mind that this will be the last time I manage a hunter.

After 10 minutes of weaving, running, and dodging the poison it keeps spewing on its tail.

I got hit on my thigh, the poison easily melts through my flesh and I trip and fall.

I looked up at the sky and let out a small chuckle.

"Ah fuck, All I wanted was to have a peaceful life," I said while tears were flowing in my eyes

A couple of seconds later the sky I was looking at was replaced with the face of a huge spider.

I closed my eyes and felt the poison drip on my chest.

The pain was so severe that I passed out.

All I felt afterward was complete nothingness.

Until I saw bright light from a distance It keep getting closer and closer until.....

I open my eyes and saw a room that was filled with furniture that looked expensive, candles, something that resembles a room that you saw in medieval times.

"The Young Master is Awake!" I heard someone said

I look at the one who uttered the words.

It was a maid looking at me with concern and worry.

"What the actual fuck is happening," I thought to myself.
