Falter Not

Countless ideas went through my mind as Ms. Leah and I made our way to the Aura Chamber.

"Should I run? No, that will make me look more suspicious, ah fuck" I thought to myself

"We are here, Student Kayn"

I come back to my senses and see that we now have arrived at the Aura Chamber.

"Ladies first, Ms. Leah," I say as I make a smile directed at her

She then chuckled and entered the Aura Chamber.

I follow her.

"Student Kayn, please pick up your longsword"

I nod at her and look around the room to find a longsword then came back to Ms. Leah

I noticed that there was faint anger in her eyes but I shrugged it off.

"Alright, Student Kayn, can you give me a gist of your hidden power?, actually no let me guess, Is it a secret weapon art on the longsword? Did your father gave you some sort of potion that made you increase the sharpness of your Aura, or no maybe you used some kind of scroll, actually now that I think about it all of those things lack the power for you to successfully subjugate a Wolfman."

She then looked at me with clear rage in her eyes.

"Student Kayn, I do not know what you are planning to show me but the current evidence shows that you lack the means of subjugating a Wolfman, then that could only mean one thing that you faked it and you also have a clear motive,"

"Motive?" I hid the confusion in my voice.

"Isn't it crystal clear, Student Kayn? The Security of the academy has been impenetrable for almost 200 years now, this was the first time it got breached, then that could only mean one thing it was tampered from inside the Academy, we investigated the teachers, knights, and mages that were stationed that day and none of them had a clear motive, only you, all the evidence shows that you staged yourself killing the Wolfman by making a deal with a Fiend to make your father restore your nobility"

The rage in Ms. Leah's eyes was burning even more brightly.

I look around and see there were 10 Knights around the room ready to apprehend me.

I let out a sigh

"Think whatever you want Ms. Leah"

"Your lies will come to an end now Student Kayn,"

I stab my longsword to the ground.

"Student Kayn, are you planning to fight me?"

"No, Ms. Leah, I am planning to show you," I say as I close my eyes

I start to concentrate on my aura, a green aura then enveloped my body and my sword

That same green aura then started to injure my body making slight cuts and small wounds.

"Wha-what are you doing?" Ms. Leah's voice was shaken

I didn't reply as I was using all of my concentration on my aura.

Blood was pouring out of every wound and cuts on me.

The blood was now merging with my aura making my green aura become brown.

Amidst the pain that I was feeling throughout my body, I was angry, extremely angry.

"I risk my life and I get this in return? this fucking academy, so prideful that they couldn't believe that the reason a Wolfman got through their supposedly unbreakable security was because of their own negligence, instead they blame it on a student who did nothing wrong and essentially did their jobs for them, prideful bastards" I thought to myself.

I open my eyes and see that Ms. Leah was looking at me but the rage in her eyes was no longer present, she was looking at me in confusion.

The violent brown aura that enveloped my body was getting even sharper and then.

Some of the violent brown Aura then burst throughout the room like a shockwave.

Some of the knights fell to the ground.

Ms. Leah was slightly pushed back but she did not fall to the ground unlike the other knights, she was pale and clearly surprised as she look at me.

I raise my sword that was stabbed to the ground.

The violent brown aura was now centered in my sword.

I prepare a stance, I held my sword with both hands and prepared to slash.

"Feel it for yourself, Ms. Leah"

Ms. Leah suddenly got back to her senses and let out her aura, it was crimson red.

I swung my sword and a loud sound echoed throughout the room.

I was going to swing my sword again but I felt an extremely sharp pain in my body.

It was so painful that I wanted to scream but I held it in.

My knees fell to the ground due to horrible pain, I lacked the strength to even hold my sword properly.

"FUCK, my body can only handle one swing from the sword chant, THIS FUCKING SUCKS," I thought to myself.

I then looked up towards Ms. Leah, her crimson red aura looked unscathed.

I felt the pain getting stronger, I wanted to pass out, to let my body rest but I will not give in, not here, not now.

I persevered through the pain and picked myself up, my body was full of wounds and scratches, my uniform was now covered in blood, but my eyes didn't falter.

Ms. Leah's crimson red aura was now dissipating into the air.

I then noticed that there was a cut on Ms. Leah's cheek.

"All of that hard work for a single scratch," I thought to myself.

"Student Kayn, you managed to injure me, through my crimson red aura," There was awe in her voice.

Through the pain, I prepared my stance once again.

"Student Kayn, you may stop now"

The anger in Ms. Leah's voice was now gone so was the rage from her eyes.

She was clearly worried at me.

My sword then fell to the ground as I lacked the strength to even hold it anymore.

"Student Kayn, I apo-"

"Stop it, I don't want to hear your apology"

"Then please, let us carry you into the medical facility" She was now speaking out of worry.

"It's fine, I can go there by myself"

"Student Kayn, please understand that we didn't think it was possible, we didn't know"

"I just don't care anymore, I just want to leave and rest, will you please allow me to do that?" I reply weakly to her

Ms. Leah was about to say something but no words came out in the end she then hesitantly nodded at me.

I left the Aura Chamber and made my way to the medical facility.

Every single step was extremely painful, it felt like I was walking barefooted in a hallway full of nails.

There were some students who saw me as I weakly walked through the hallway.

They were shocked but I didn't pay any attention to them.

My blood dripped on the floor.

I grit my teeth and kept walking.

I stumbled and had to lean against the wall, the pain was even more severe than before.

"Just a couple bit more steps," I thought to myself.

"KAYN!" I hear voices calling my name from afar.

I weakly turned my head to see who it was.

It was Mellissa and Lawrence who was looking at me with concern.

"Hey" I softly reply to them

Lawrence then put my arm on his shoulders and so did Mellissa, together they proceeded to carry me to the medical facility.

I then couldn't fight it anymore and passed out.
