But this is where Edward became disappointed in the abomination.

Most of the Qi that the abomination absorbed through the lungs was circulated throughout the body and nourished the organs bones muscles etc making them stronger. But only a small part of the Qi absorbed was used while the rest was released back as the abomination breathed out.

It was incapable of storing Qi as it lacked an organ to store it.

This was truly disappointing to Edward, but he continued to observe the abomination for 6 more years, the abomination became very strong physically but other than that no special mutations occurred.

In terms of raw strength, it was comparable to a baby dragon.

Seeing that the abomination was now a fully developed baby, Edward stopped supplying it with Qi.

And that was when the abomination became to squirm like fish out of water.

Although there was Qi in the air, it was not concentrated enough for the abomination to survive in.

The first abomination died just like that.

Following which he created 30 more abominations and observed their development.

But what he found most interesting was that each abomination had a specialty of their own. He assumed this is due to the small genetic differences in the human body leading to the different paths of development.

He eventually created the technique for the Body Transformation path, he called it Everchanging Human Body.

In his past life, he could not cultivate the Everchanging Human Body. If he is to cultivate it he would need to abandon his cultivation in the Martial Path. He had made too many enemies in his life so he could not take the risk.

But this life he has no choice but to cultivate it as the Martial Path not an option for him.

Mana is inherently very different from Qi.

A basic difference between the two would be that Mana exists in the atmosphere as small packets/balls of energy, while Qi existed in the form of long strings.

When Alphonse tried to absorb Mana like how he used to absorb Qi, but it was ineffective. So he could not cultivate the Everchanging Human Body or the Second layer of the Eternal Bodhi Tree.

Thankfully the First layer of the Eternal Bodhi Tree, known as the Soul Bodhi Seed, did not need external energy to cultivate.

He tried several different methods to absorb Mana but none was successful.

He did not give up, he tried to more knowledge about Mana from the library in George's mansion. From there he learned of the Knight's <Mana Drawing Mantra>.

He asked George about it, to which he replied, 'You're not ready yet', he then explained how the <Mana Drawing Mantra> can attract the Mana particles towards your body and if your body is not though enough then it will cause more harm than good.

Alphonse researched more about the <Mana Drawing Mantra>.

The <Mana Drawing Mantra> was made by an Arch-mage called Rasputin during the Great Abyssal War period.

Great Abyssal War period, occurred nearly 10,000 years ago. At that time a mighty earthquake occurred and many cracks opened up on the earth. These cracks connected to the underground dwellings of the Abyssal Fiends.

Seeing sunlight after countless eons, the Abyssal Fiends rushed out of the crakes and slaughtered everything living in their path.

To repeal an alien force all the empires of the surface world untied unanimously and attacked the Abyssal Fiends.

At that time, the Path of Knighthood did not exist and the mortality rate of Mages was very high, as Mages where physically weak and took time to cast spells.

As a result, the Humans were losing the war to the Abyssal Fiends.

Even before the war Rasputin, who was know as the Mad Arch-mage, for the crazy theories he proposed, was researching for a way to increase the combat power of common soldiers.

He single-handedly created the path of Knighthood. He created the <Mana Drawing Mantra> that the soldiers that had undergone rigorous training before could use to increase their battle power.

And his creation changed the tides of the war. The Humans forced the Abyssal Fiends back into their home, the Abyss, where they belonged.

As for Rasputin, he was hailed as the Hero Arch-Mage from then own. Many songs and poems of his valor where sung, even today his poems are used as nursery rhymes, so the future generation will never forget his contribution.

Soon after the war was over Rasputin vanished.

Some say he died in the hands of an Abyssal Fiends, some say that he had discovered some other crazy theory and went into hiding to research about it.

That was all the information Alphonse could get about the <Mana Drawing Mantra> from George's library.

He tried to convince George a few more times to show him the <Mana Drawing Mantra>, but what George gave him was a spanking.

Having no other option left Alphonse could only increase his body toughness through the old school method. Through rigorous exercises.
