4 Chapter 15 : Knight's Time
Finally, Lyrids with Teddy returned back to her real time which is inside the private study room of Professor Knight. It was still locked. Teddy during that time also is turning down because his battery starts to turn in zero percent.
"Lyrids, my name was not really Teddy. I am L999 and that's the password to unlock this room… Remembe…eeeeeeeeeeeerrrrr….nooooooooooooot.....toooooooo… br…reaak.... Kniiiiiiiiight's….. heaaaart." His last words when he became emptied with his body on the floor.
Lyrids decides to read John's letter for 3 minutes before unlocking the door. After reading she looks at the digital clock and immediately goes outside. She saw Professor Knight and she smiled at him with teary eyes as she run quickly. Some of the students who are forming a line doubts to her too.
Finally she came to the waiting area of the review school and there she starts to cry and remembers John's letter.
Here's a complete letter of John dated October 10, 2077.
(This letters was written in seven years after the current year of Lyrids which is 2070.)
Lyrids, why did I fall in love with you? No matter how much time has passed, I thought you'd always be here with me. But you've chosen a different path…It is the saddest part of my life. Lyrids, to see you marrying other figure of man in front the altar while vowing your love to God, it kills me. I can't do anything while watching and wishing to take you away if given a chance…
Why my feelings can't reach you? Even if it grew every day and night since the day I met you. My overflowing words don't even works to you. What will happen to me now? Why my thoughts can't even run through you?
From the first day we met, I felt like I knew you. I saw you giving lots of apples to everyone in the classroom (Being ordered from the planet earth.), and even said that an act of kindness is a form of art. I agree, so the two of us clicked naturally. We build the first ever art club and met new group of friends that shapes our personality in a good way.
We went everywhere together, it was usual for you to be with me. We even planned to help each other while studying. You're for the memorization and a little hard computation while I'm in some intense Math and in practical laboratories. We grew up to be adults together and became very comfortable to each other… I knew all about you. Your ugly sides too but I accepts and loves the way you are.
I was very happy that all our hard works produced such a wonderful fruit. We finally graduated and never got any failing grades. However, you didn't take good care to yourself. You are brought into the hospital because of asthma. I was too worried and even run to immediately visit you.
I like your family and love them too. Even though I can feel that your father didn't like me and knows that I secretly love you. Our group of friends too knows it but I told them to be quiet. Arn too is against to my strong feelings to you. So I kept hiding until the right time comes. This is the time when you drowned in the red beach and I tried my best to save you. We are both at the age of 22 when it all happened. Remember? A time guard like me also came to help me. He was me at the age of 29. He said that I should confess my feelings as early as I can. So I did and force myself to let you know my love in a most gentle way that won't scare you. However, it still moves you away from me. So I go to planet Earth and there I saw you with little tears in your face. I asked why and followed by the question of where did you go? You just smiled and said "Knight's time".
I know that after those two words we can never go back to the time that we dream to travel all around the Earth using the time machine and reach our dreams together. Couldn't I grab your hand and take you away? You were supposed to be by my side but it won't happen anymore. Knight gets you away from me and I can't do anything and became so lonely for almost 7 years. I then realized that meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control.
I became a successful time guard and you also became a famous time traveler who records the life of some famous artist such as Michael Angelo Buonarotti and Picasso. I am very happy for you but sad to myself for not doing anything to remind my love for you. So I planned to make some research on the time you traveled before you fall in love to this guy. I even steal Knight's Journal and read it.
I first traveled to help myself to save you from drowning and followed by the time to look closely to Knight's face, 22 years old, as old as you are when you traveled. I madly show him my revengeful face.
My heart is so powerful because it accidentally leads me twice to your place. The first was when you fell near the ground. I grab you immediately and watch you as you sleep soundly. Second was when I saw the time guard preparing to arrest you so I used my electrical weapon to hit her head and steal her video recorder at her shades. I was very happy to be your Prince Charming even if what I did was too dangerous.
Lastly, I was very sorry for changing Knight's time and wanting you to go back. I even hit him first. It was all for my serious love for you. I know that in my time I can't change everything because you're already married at our age of 29. I just tried to make you realize that you love me. However, you still chose him but finally you said the words that I wait so long to hear from you. Thank you for saying that you love me too, even if it's just a feeling of brother like or a family member.
I think I must start a new life and will just treasure everything. Even though you're far away from me, I will wish for your eternal happiness. No matter how lonely it will make me or how hard it will be…
For your current time, you can still change your mind if you realized that you love me more than that. This is the last way to me. Go outside and meet me before 9:00 am. John at the age of 22 will go there because he is looking at you. He'll ask you. Say the word I love you if you want to change everything but Knight's time if you want everything to happen again, as I already stated. I love you Lyrids. You are my world. Goodbye…
BACK TO THE SCENE
Lyrids never thought that John could really make her cry like that. She cries like someone had died. So she waits for him to find her. She wipes her tears when she can saw him running through her.
"Why?" He asked while catching his breath.
"Where did you go?" He asked again.
"Knight's time…" She said with a smile.

(Lyrids didn't betray Knight. Her love for him cannot be shaken by anyone.)
