18 Deception

Midoriya Kyoko POV

OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD.

"So, Sensei, how are we meant to get out of this pickle?"

I am not ready to fight the entire criminal underworld.

"Well, it seems we are in luck." What the hell is he talking about?! I could feel tears of frustration and aner startning to well up, and I didn't know what to do.

I had fought for so long, ten years, just to fail here? When I finally get the power to help people I mess it up it less then a year!

It seems as if Sensei noticed my panic, as I felt his arms close around me in a hug.

"Don't worry, Kyoko, we can fix this. They still think I am alive, and now we just need to make the world belive that. The Meta Liberation Army knew about a quirk thief, but they weren't that worried about you. You only had three ghosts at once, yes?"

"Yes, but what does that have to do with it?"

"Well, the MLA weren't worried about you because you could not grow into a danger towards them, and now, as long as you play my enforcer instead of another me, you may be attacked by big groups at the same time, but I don't think my more... powerful enemies will take notice."

Then he stopped for awhile, almost hesitating to continue whatever he was going to say. He opened and closed his mouth many times, while I simply waited. He would say what he would say when he was ready, as he always let me do.

He didn't hurry me along, like Inko. He didn't push me down for my mistakes, like Katsuki. But everytime I stumbled, he was there to catch me.

And I would repay that to him one day. One day, he will be more then just a disembodied voice only I could hear. One day, All For One would walk this world again. That, I would ensure.

"I-My name is Shigaraki Kuro."

"You can call me Kuro if you want to."

"Of course... Kuro."

He smiled at that, and any hesitation he had before almost slipped off of him, and when he spoke he spoke in the certain and determined voice he always spoke in.

"Thank you, Kyoko."

He saved me, and I would save him.

Toshinori Yagi POV

He was alive. I thought I put that monster down 5 years ago. It seems I hadn't.

Tenko will probably never recover from what All For One did to him, and I don't know if I could stop All For One if he tried to take Tenko.

I know I would die trying, at the very least.

Mirio Togata, the one I think I might have to pass One For All to. I wanted it to end with me, I really did, but now? With him back? No, I will not let this torch burn out.

I will not let it end, and I will ensure that there is someone to stand up to All For One, until that old man is dead, once and for all.

But now? Now I will have to give a phone call to a very grumpy old man.

This will not be fun.

Midoriya Kyoko POV

This was it. My first attack on a base.

With the slight push of a few quirks, thousands of tiny scales burst into existance and formed my cloak and robe.

I had been in fights before, but all of them were when I unsuccesfully ambushed someone, and I usually ended them rather quickly.

I don't think that would be the case this time though.

This... yakuza was apperently the opposite of the MLA, but instead of trying to protect the quirkless, like I thought they would, they had chosen to pull apart and experiment on those poor souls to find out why they didn't have a quirk.

And how they could make that happen to those with quirks.

The Shie Hassaikai. Apperently it was a rather small group before All For One fell, but it had grown much since.

They had started introducing something they called quirk-destroying bullets, something that temporarily shut down a quirk, something that could be a genuine danger to me, if I wasn't prepared.

Fortification, I think the previous user called this quirk. It allowed him to create a shield over anything that was not him, which means he could use it on his clothes, or, as my shadow, use it on me.

The shield he created was tough enough to not even be scratched by me throwing a car at him at high speeds.

His insides got mushed by that, of course, but it didn't break his shield.

I don't know if he made it.

Anyways, here I was, walking through the hallways of this compound. Really, no sane builder would sign off on building this underground base, the hallways were far to close to eachother.

Close enough that a light tap could bring a wall between two halls down.

Or well, a light application of terrakinesis.

And then he came into view. All the previous criminals I had fought were easy to dispatch, but I don't know if this one would be.

He was large. Very large. With a mask that covered his entire face, even his hair, he looked special, compared to the others.

Could he be one of the expensive (expendable?) bullets this little group had?

I stopped with one eyebrow raised, as he brought a syringe of something to his neck, and pushed it in.

Trigger, Kuro whispered to me.

"Sensei sends his regards."

And with those words I rushed at him, as he took a deep breath, and I felt TIRED. Exhausted in ways I haven't for a long time.

I shook my head a little and pushed that feeling away, into a shadow.

I fused three shadows togheter in an instant, overclock really is a useful quirk, terrakinesis, hardening, and speed.

The walls around us warped, and unaturally hard spikes of concrete shot towards the man in the mask.

They restrained him, until he took another breath and I felt that weakness, that tiredness return to me.

And he burst out from the spikes as if they weren't there.

Reverse momentum sent his form shooting down the hallway.

I swapped that for telekinesis, then forced him to hang in the air, with no way to gain any traction any where.

Another slight push to a few of my shadows and seven of them burst forth as one, bringing a storm of lightning down on the masked man.

He didn't get up again.

And he did not deserve that quirk.

The next masked man that tried to stop me looked similair to the other man. Large, that is.

"Sensei say hello."

And with that I didn't lightly push my shadows as much as I forced dozens of them to the surface materializing as three that ripped the man infront of me through the air, and crushed him with a giant hand of invisible energy.

I heard his bones crack and break.

I didn't care. I didn't know what his quirk was but I had one more leaving that room compared to entering it.

Five of them.

No, six, one of them was hiding in the walls.

A slight application of force pulled him out of there and sent near lethal currents surging through his body.

"Well, a child? Is that all the king can send against us? Is he really that desperate."

They are stalling for time, one of my quirks told me, and that's all I needed to know. I needed no words, not anymore.

The ground rose up to face them.

The ground won, and they joined the quirkless they so loved.

"Don't insult Sensei infront of me again."

I owed him everything, and I would repay that one day.

Eri POV

Overhaul was running. I was running. I don't know what we were running from, but it must be something bad if it can make even Overhaul run.

I'm scared.

Then the wall burst open, and Overhaul was stuck on the wall, hold there by pieces of the wall.

What was happening?

A lady surrounded by shadows and wearing a robe that glittered even when there was no light stepped through, the hole in the wall, and after she smiled at Overhaul, she smiled at me.

Her smile towards Overhaul didn't feel like a smile.

But her smile towards me felt so warm, like the sun. And it felt like a hug when small sand looking things burst into existance and surrounded me, and we vanished from the cold hallways and rooms that hurt.

The kind lady told me to go to the men dressed in blue and give them the paper she gave me.

The men dressed in blue were kind, but they didn't look happy when they read the paper.

It took three hours for the destruction of Shie Hassaikai to be confirmed.

It took four for the criminal scum of the world to realize that this wasn't the work of All For One, but his newest enforcer.

Five hours after the destruction of the Shie Hassakai, the new enforcer got named Shadow Queen by the criminal underbelly of the world.

Six hours after that name became official.

Fourteen hours later the name got attatched to a new A rank villain.

Twenty hours later the hero commision announced that a powerful quirk thief was on the loose, and building power.
