21 BIT HIM DOWN

Hazel really wanted to cry because his slap was so harsh and the pain ensued that only made her want nothing to do with this man, but to stay away from him.

How naïve she had been all this time to think that her father would love her someday if she followed everything that he said and became the good girl that he told her to be.

But, he didn't really want her to behave well, he simply didn't want her.

Her mother always preached this doctrine to Hazel that her father would eventually love her if she behaved well and became a good girl, taking Gaia as a role model.

Hazel had a hard time discerning that, because how could one take a bully as a role model? She couldn't see anything good that she needed to learn from Gaia. She was the worst sibling ever. Not to mention she snatched her boyfriend.

"Are you done?" Hazel asked Greg. She was pissed because her voice was trembling. She didn't want him to hear that, but she could take satisfaction from the fact that she didn't break down in tears.

"Watch what you say!" Greg was about to raise his hand again. He couldn't stand this girl. Every time he saw her, he would see how he had been humiliated by his own wife. She was a living reminder for what had happened.

"Slap me again and I will sue you for harassment!" Hazel snapped at him.

She was kicked out of the house when she turned eighteen. He said that she needed to learn how to be independent, while Gaia, who was two years older than her, was living a sheltered life under their roof. What a joke…

"Get out of my property!" Greg gritted his teeth when he dropped his hand to his side, after hearing the way she threatened him.

"Okay. If you don't have anything to say, I will leave now. Thank you for lunch." And without saying anything anymore, Hazel turned around and walked away from him.

She was trying to keep her calm, instead of running away from there. It would make her look very immature and that was the last thing that she wanted him to think of her.

Hazel felt her heart was about to burst from all the anger that she was trying to supress, but of course, no matter how irritated she was, she wouldn't forget about her fancy rib steak and red wine.

"Can I get my takeaway?" Hazel asked the host, while the latter confirmed her name. "Yes, that's my name."

"Do you need help to get it to your car?" she asked politely, doing her best to act normal, despite seeing how upset this young girl was.

"No, no need. I will take it by myself." Hazel shook her head. She really wanted to go right away from here. Anywhere would be good for her.

However, as if she was cursed, another person that she hated approached her and this made her grunt angrily.

"We need to talk," Stefan said, as he gripped her arm, so she wouldn't escape.

"I don't want to talk to you," Hazel said grimly. How dare he touch her?!

From the corner of her eyes, Hazel could see the server that was carrying a big bag filled with her food and drink, thus knowing she wouldn't be able to make Stefan let her go, she did something without thinking.

Bending her body, Hazel pulled his hand to her mouth and bit down on it really hard, until he loosened his grip and cried out loud because of the pain.

All the people there were stunned and turned their heads to see what happened, but before she became their center of attention, she snatched the bag and rushed toward the door.

Gillian said he would wait for her in the same spot in the parking lot, thus she ran in that direction, leaving Stefan to grunt in pain. He deserved that for being so pushy.

However, what she didn't expect was for Stefan to actually chase after her. He was still grimacing in pain, but managed to catch up to her nonetheless. "I just want to talk! You are overreacting!"

Hazel glared at him, but when she caught Gillian staring at her, she didn't hesitate to call for help. Her lips were split, she didn't want to bite anyone anymore right now. "Gillian!" Hazel tried to run toward him, but Stefan gripped her arm once again.

"We need to talk! Stop acting like a child!"

This was the second time in a day she was called a child by the two hideous men in her life.

"Do you have a problem here?" Gillian took a stance in front of Hazel, as he gripped the man's wrist. It was easy for him to break it, since there was no way a mere human could match his strength. "Let her go."

"Don't meddle in someone else's business!" Stefan snapped at Gillian, but then he flinched because of the pressure on his wrist. How could he squeeze his hand so hard like that?

"Do you want me to meddle in your business?" Gillian glanced at Hazel over his shoulder.

"Of course, you can kick him in the butt for all I care," Hazel grumbled. She wanted to be alone and have a good cry right now, why was it so hard?

Well, Gillian didn't kick him on the butt, but he shoved him away pretty harshly until he stumbled on the pavement.

Both Hazel and Stefan were surprised, but she immediately ushered him away before both of them really started fighting.

"Who is that?" Gilian asked her once they had driven out of the parking lot.

"My ex," Hazel replied curtly, grumbling. "I should have bitten him even harder."

"You bit him?!" Gillian was shocked. For a shifter, that kind of thing was an intimate gesture. Something you shouldn't do recklessly to someone else.

The king would lose it if he heard this…
