6 Chapter 6 : A disaster

Our story continues with Kipo at the age of 13, on the 5th of February,2213.

It was a normal day in the burrow where we find Kipo in her school, but it was not like any school day since it was the (bring your parent to school day), Kipo was excited about this day because not many people know each other in the burrow, so that was a chance for her to introduce her father.

That day was fine in the school, Leo decided to stay in school until Kipo finished so he could walk with her home.

Until, it finally happened....

Leo and some of the leaders of the burrow knew that one day, mutants will find them, they just didn't know when or how it was going to happen, but out of all their predictions to it, it was even worse.

The hatch In the ceiling was broken from the outside by a huge 40 feet mutant, in that time Kipo was walking with her father to their home, when Leo saw that, he immediately made action, he told Kipo to run to their house as fast as she could and to not look back no matter what and hide.

After the hatch was opened, a lot of mutant birds came in and started picking people up from the ground and flying them out.

By that time Leo and a group of people had managed to escape through a secret tunnel.

Kipo was at home hiding in her bedroom, after a while she decided to look through the window, only to see her father escaping and leaving her behind.

Kipo was so desperate to call her father, but she knew that if she made a loud noise, the mutants would find her.

After almost 2 hours of the mutants searching for other people in the burrow they got tired and left.

Kipo then started to hear the silence, so she came out and looked at her surroundings to see that no one was left in the whole burrow, but her.

After Kipo had seen that she had to be separated from her father and after looking at the surroundings, she started to look around knowing that her father left her something before he escaped in the tunnel.

And she was right, her father left her a small note saying: "Hi Kipo, this message is from me, I hope you understand that you had to stay behind, I could not save you, but I know that you will find a way to find me, I hope that you are the one who is reading this message, I love you Kipo, see you soon."

Kipo started tearing up and said to herself that she will find him, no matter what.

Kipo was about to leave to the surface world, but then she thought to take another quick look before she leaves.

After searching again she was about to leave, but then she heard a sound from one of the nearby houses, something fell off, she thought that this might be someone, but when she went back to look she found no one.

After she was certain that she was the only one left, someone came out of the shadows and tried to attack her, causing Kipo to fall on the ground, but after realizing who she was, the person stopped and helped her get up.

It was a girl in her school but not in the same class, she was 2 years older than her, they didn't know each other but they saw each other before.

Kipo : hey....I know you....you are that girl in my school...the athlete of the school.

Kipo said in her mind : that explains why you are a pretty good fighter.

After that girl looked at Kipo and helped her get up.

girl : yeah I saw you before too...sorry for the surprising attack, I thought you were a mute...so what is your name?

Kipo : It's uh...Kipo...you?

then the girl said : I'm Sarah.

Kipo : oh wait....you're that girl that I take gym classes with!

Sarah : pink girl ?....your name is Kipo ?

Kipo : yes...I'm Kipo...I really would appreciate it if you stopped calling me pink girl.

Sarah : sure...whatever.....

Kipo hasn't shown it, but she was so glad to see a familiar face.

Kipo and Sarah were leaving their burrow searching for their parents and rescuing everyone too.

As they were leaving through the hole that was caused by a huge mutant Kipo felt scared from the size of that hole, unlike Sarah, Sarah was not even a bit scared from anything on the surface, when Kipo saw the bravery in Sarah's eyes she remembered why she's doing all of this and said in her mind.

"whatever it takes"

As they were approaching the surface Kipo and Sarah looked in the sky and trees, Kipo was very amazed by what she was seeing, her eyes started to burn her a little since she has never seen the light of the day, but she got used to it pretty quickly.

Kipo was so admired for her surroundings that she spent almost 15 minutes just looking around her discovering all the things that she finally can see for the first time after 13 years of dreaming about it.

But Sarah on the other hand, did not waste time looking anywhere but for the way that will lead them to the mutants home.

Sarah : come on Kipo...we don't have all day...we need to find shelter.

Kipo : should we go to a house or make one ?

Sarah : we will make one...because we're not going to have a normal home...it will go where we go.

Kipo : does that mean we're going to have to carry it around ?

Sarah : relax....it's just the tent.

Kipo : I guess we can carry a tent around.

Kipo started suspecting that either she is just so dedicated to finding her mother, or this is not the first time Sarah sees the surface.
