13 Chapter 13 : A helping hand

Kipo and Sarah were heading to the snake village and finish their mission to help the hamsters village.

Kipo : so I have asked you this question before.....but I want to see if the answer have changed....what's the plan ?

Sarah : I didn't change the plan yet.....first...we need to do some scouting....but this time I will do it alone....

Kipo : yeah yeah....I know.

After a while of walking they found the snake village, every snake was asleep, because it was daytime, but that does not mean that they can't wake up.

Sarah has already climbed the same tree Kipo fell off of.

Kipo : I don't like this tree.

Sarah : I don't think the tree was the problem fatty...

Kipo : I'm not fat.....right ?

Kipo then checked her belly but it was flat.

Kipo in her mind : meh....I'm not fat.

Sarah started looking for any snake that might be awake, but she saw no one, she climbed down the tree and started to look with Kipo in the houses of the village through the windows, they saw many snakes, different sizes and heights, when Sarah saw them she realized that they can't win a fight against these creatures.

Sarah whispered : we have to leave....before we wake one of them up.....if one is up...all are up....let's go.

After they left the village and got far away from it, Kipo was confused of what's the matter.

Kipo : so what's next.....how will we take them out ?

Sarah : we won't.

Kipo : what ?....why ?

Sarah : you don't know much about biology.....do you ?

Kipo : I'm an astronomy scientist....of course I don't know anything about biology.

Sarah : snakes contain venom....this venom can do many different things to it's victim....some hurt...some immobilize....some make you bleed.....and some kills....one drop of a giant snake's venom is enough to kill you at least in like 2 minutes.....there is no way any of us will survive a fight with them.

Kipo : but how do we help the hamsters ?.....we have to.

Sarah : we need to find another way that doesn't involve violence.....unfortunately.

Kipo : we could get Zet.....if violence is still an option.

Sarah : if we do this fight even with Zet.....he might be the only survivor in it.....and that's a maybe.

Kipo : do we head to back to the hamster village now ?

Sarah : I think I have a plan....but we need Zet for it to work.....let's go to his tree house.

After a long walk, the night is almost sitting and it started raining, they have finally reached Zet's house, when they arrived Sarah climbed up to the door and broke it open, she knows that he's not in it.

Kipo : that was very unnecessary of you.

Sarah : sure....we can wait outside if you want.

Kipo : fine....

Sarah : we'll wait for him....he should be back soon.

The girls waited in the tree house for almost 10 minutes, then they heard Zet coming back.

When Zet came in he was surprised to see his door open, he summoned lightning in his hands before going to see who broke his door, he then climbed up and aimed immediately at the first thing he spotted.

Kipo : don't shoot !!

Sarah : oh hey Zet.....thought you'd never come back.

when Zet saw who broke in his house he turned off his lightning hands.

Zet : oh....it's you two....you couldn't more rude than this you know....oh...and hey Kipo.

Sarah : glad to see you too.....you know I broke into my house too.

Kipo : hi Zet.

Zet : what do you want ?

Sarah : long story....we need your help...and no...we're not going to kill or hurt anyone....this time.

Zet : fill me in.

Sarah : so recently we visited a village.....it was the hamsters village....they're dying slowly almost every night.....they're getting hunted by the snakes....they will eventually all die unless they get help.

Zet : and YOU want to help them?....I'm truly shocked...

Sarah : not me precisely....but yes...I do.

Zet : so what's the plan ?

Kipo : well....we tried to fight the snakes at first.....but luckily we realized we can't kill one of them without dying first.

Zet : you just found out?.....the snake that was chasing me was a blind snake.....but also a dumb one....it couldn't speak like the rest....but because it can't see it could hear and smell better than the rest of it's kind.....that one was average height and size to them....no one can miss with these guys and survive....I was lucky to find water on my way.

Kipo : wow....the mutation event did a real number on them.

Sarah : we need to go back to the hamsters village and see how they're holding up.

Zet : let's go then.

A while has passed when they were walking, and suddenly Zet asked Kipo in private.

Zet : hey does she know about what I told you ?

Kipo : no....I did not tell her anything.....yet.

By the time Zet and Kipo finished their private conversation, they have already arrived to their destination, the hamsters village.

Sarah : we're here.

Kipo was glad to see the population of this village didn't decrease as much as she thought.

Kipo : hi everyone !

The hamsters looked at her for a short while without saying any word.

Kipo : right...depression.

Zet : anybody cares to explain what's up with them ?

Kipo : they're usually depressed because of the snake attacks.

Sarah : and we're about to change this.

Sarah then headed to a high place, high enough to be able to gather all the hamsters in one place.

Sarah : alright everyone.....who's of you sick of the snakes attacks almost every night ?

Many hamsters lift their hands up, while many others just left, they did not want to change anything and accept their fate by ending up eaten by a snake.

Sarah : we can change all of this.

The village chief : we won't fight them.

Sarah : why the hell does everyone find violence the first solution to everything....

Zet : what do you mean ?.....you did that too !

Sarah : shut up.....anyway....we have a plan to make you all safe from the snakes once and for all.

Some of the hamsters that left came back, they wanted to hear this plan before judging.

Sarah : but we need your help with this....if this plan works...none of you will ever be eaten by a snake again.

The villager chief : we're listening.

Sarah : we can change this whole village's location to somewhere else where they won't find you....and we will make decoys in these houses....so they won't suspect anything.....when they find out that you all left it will be too late for them...you would already be gone.

The village chief : but what about when they come at night ?

Sarah : this is why we have this guy.....everyone....meet Zet....he can control lightning and stuff...

Zet : hi everyone.....

Sarah then whispered to Zet.

Sarah : show them....

Zet : oh yeah.....this will hurt.

He then showed off his powers to the hamsters, they were impressed, more of those who left started to come back, this plan was destined to succeed.

Kipo : NOW they're interested.

Sarah : he will be able to keep them away at night.....we will work hard for it....but it will be worth it....unless you all want to be randomly picked as snakes dinner.

The village chief : do you have more details?

Sarah : yes....but for now...that's all you need to know to judge.....so...do you agree to save yourselves ?

The hamsters finally let out a small smile on their faces, the village chief nodded in agreement, Sarah nodded back, she was excited for her plan to work.

Sarah : alright then.....let's get to work !

Zet : wait...who came up with this idea ?

Kipo : I didn't even know about it.....all Sarah.

Zet : not bad.....not bad...so what we should do first ?

Sarah : ok....Kipo....go get wood from the forest....get a group with you...gather as much sticks as you can find.

Kipo : got it !

Sarah : and Zet....I need you to keep an eye on the snakes at all time....keep them away from here as much you can....if you're part fails....the whole plan fails.

Zet : no pressure huh ?

Sarah : relax....we both know you got this....

Zet : speak for yourself.....but sure.

The village chief : and what's our part ?

Sarah : work on transferring all your stuff outside of the village....and I will go and find a new place for you to live in.

The chief nodded in agreement.

The village chief : thank you....for all of this.

Sarah nodded with a faint smile on her face.

Sarah then left the village to look for the villager's new home.

Hours have passed, the night has started to set, Sarah found 3 different places, she can't make the choice herself, it's all up to the chief to decide, it's time for her to get back.

when Sarah came back she saw progress being made, they are desperate to live a happy normal life.

Kipo and Zet had already came back after hard long day of work.

Sarah : Zet....report.

Zet : they don't show any action all day....only night....

Sarah : good news.....you'll have time to rest in the day.

Zet : heading to do my job.

Sarah : and what about you Kipo ?

Kipo leaded Sarah into one of the houses where she put all the sticks she gathered, it was a massive pile of sticks .

Kipo : is this enough ?

When Sarah saw the pile she was surprised.

Sarah : more than enough....good job.....you can go get some rest now.

Kipo : you're not coming ?

Sarah : I'll be late....I need to speak with the chief.

Kipo : ok....see you later.

Sarah then went to speak with chief, he was in a private meeting with a group of villagers, she heard them talking about her and her group, she decided to hide in a place where they won't see her and started to listen.

Villager : we have to do this....it will be way better than her plan.

Villager : but they're trying to help us.

Village chief : they're humans....we can't trust them....we have to do it....

Villager : it's simple....we capture them when they are defenseless....we deliver them to him and we will be rewarded with a wish....as he usually does....and he will get rid of all the snakes....he doesn't like them anyway.

Village chief : we will capture them tomorrow at dawn....be ready for them....we know where they live.

Sarah was surprised by this, it was all a trap, they were betraying them all this time, she had to do something fast, she ran away from the village without anyone seeing her and headed straight to their tent, when she arrived their she found Kipo sleeping.

Sarah : Kipo wake up!

Kipo : woah....what's going on ?

Sarah : pack the tent....we need to leave now.

Kipo : what ?....why ?....what happened ?

Sarah : I will explain later....but now we need to find Zet.....pack everything and wait here....I'll go call Zet....be right back.

Sarah then ran and searched for a 2 rocks and a stick, she then climbed a big tree as fast as she could and started to set the stick on fire, she then howled as loudly.

Zet heard it, he looked up at the sky.

Sarah then set the stick on fire and threw it up in the sky.

Zet saw it and ran back to her as fast he could.

Zet has arrived.

Zet : what's the emergency ?

Sarah : no time to explain now....we need to get to Kipo.

Zet and Sarah then ran back to Kipo, she already finished packing the tent.

Sarah : Kipo....when you went to get the sticks....did you pass by Zet's house ?

Kipo : yes....multiple times....there were many broken trees in that area.....is there anything wrong ?

Zet : I live next to the lumber cats....

Sarah : oh no....the tree house is compromised....we need to get all the stuff you need in that house and leave...now.

Zet : are you going to say what's happening ?

Sarah : they're frauds....they were trying to capture us all this time....apparently they know that were humans and they're going to deliver us to him.

Zet : him ?

Sarah : I don't know either....they kept saying him....they are going to attack us at dawn....we need to hurry and get your important stuff and ditch that place....now !

Zet : let's go.

They ran to Zet's tree house, there was no one there, they had to hurry, when they arrived they were about to get in, but Zet stopped them outside.

Zet : stop here....I won't take long.

Sarah nodded.

Kipo : ok.

after 15 minutes Zet came out of the tree house with a backpack.

Zet : alright....I'm ready...let's get away from this place.

After Zet finished packing they all headed in the opposite direction of the hamsters village.

They have been walking all night, they were all tired, they needed to sleep, when they walked far enough from the hamsters village, they found a spot to set the camp in, it was in the forest, where the trees will give them cover to protect them from their enemies.

Everyone was tired, but Zet was angry, he waited for the girls to sleep then he flew back to hamsters village, when he arrived he sneaked into the house where Kipo stashed all the sticks, he grabbed a big amount and sat them all on fire and threw them at the villager's houses burning many houses they were sleeping in, he then flew back to the camp, he found Sarah waiting for him.

She was worried about him.

Sarah : where were you ?

Zet : they took my home away.....so I took theirs.

Sarah : so much for laying low....

Zet did not respond, he was very mad, he can kill the whole village in a matter of minutes, but his conscious will always prevent him from killing.
