Rain ( II )

"Princess!"

She stepped underneath the downpour, her body being drenched instantly. The cold rain was sobering as she closed her eyes, letting the droplets touch her face. It was nice. The bone-chilling sensation leaving her fingertips numb.

"Leave me alone."

She had promised to never use that tone in this life. It was the same voice that she had ordered when she had sent men off to die for her stead. Lumielle remembered ordering Evangeline to die for her in that same monotone exhale; as if it was a burden to her.

Cruel.

Lumielle had promised not to do it. Yet, she was slipping back into her old ways.
