27 Chapter 28: New Subjects

Alexander was not in a hurry to implement the next stage of his plan. Alexander continued his exercise for the next one week while his errant boy Jack ran to his former pack telling them tales about a mad wizard who had captured his pregnant wife and 8 years old brother-in-law and was demanding him to gather as many werewolves as possible. The pack did not believe him at first but Jack took a magical vow signifying his truthfulness.

Jack had left the pack because the daughter of pack leader had fallen in love with Jack but Jack and Sarah became mates so Jack left the pack in order to not to bother the girl anymore. Alexander who got the report sighed at the classic love triangle scenerio. But in this case, the other girl did not have any feelings for Jack except for friendship as she had also found her mate. Alexander again sighed at the thought of not having the chance to witness a romantic drama between the three.

Now, the pack believed Jack, they were not going to just offer themselves up to a seemingly mad wizard for whatever aim he had. They had made a mistake by believing Grindlewald but Grindlewald was a charismatic fellow and this wizard was mad. Who knows when he would snap and kill off somebody. A bigger problem now stood before them, if a new dark lord was rising then he would approach other packs also and if any pack decides to follow him then, the rest would also have to follow the new dark lord as the ministry of magic and the general populace would increase their prosecution and werewolves would not be able to even go to Knockturn Alley and only one who would took them in would be the dark lord as he needed canon fodder. The werewolves had no delusions of grandeur if there is an uprising of a new dark lord then they would be used as meat shields and a means to terrorize the wizarding populace. The werewolves didn't want to join any dark lord anymore. The pack leader, Williams called for a meeting among the various pack leaders living in Britain. They all had decided that they would always stand as a whole after the global wizarding war and would take decisions jointly. They wanted to come to a decision on how to deal with this mad wizard.

Alexander thought, " If the werewolves were this much vigilant against joining any dark lord then how the hell Riddle managed to recruit so many werewolves. No!! Riddle did not first recruit the werewolves, he recruited Greyback and used him as a tool to make the ministry and common wizards and witches believe that the werewolves had sided with the new dark lord like they had sided with the previous one. Then, he used his pureblood supporters to pass very harsh laws against the magical creatures and also on the side pressuring the various pack leaders. Still, several werewolf packs fled the country and then, Riddle had the law passed that no werewolf can leave the country without taking the permission of the ministry. The excuse given was that the werewolves were leaving the country to gather foreign support for the dark lord. Left with no other choice, the werewolves tried to escape in the muggle world but surviving in the muggle world was even more difficult for them. In the end, they joined Riddle."

Alexander had his elves track the letters send out by Williams and posted a single elf for each pack. There were 35 werewolf packs in Britain. The official population of werewolves in Britain according to Ministry was 5,000 but not all werewolves lived in a pack or in the magical world. The news of a possible new dark lord caused mayhem in the packs. Thankfully, the Ministry of Magic was as incompetent as Alexander thought as they didn't even come to know about all this. All the werewolf leaders and their betas decided to meet in clearing up in the mountains.

Alexander could have easily made Jack submit to him but he didn't do so. Werewolves have phenomenal instincts regarding the nature of others. They could tell from the body language and manner of speech whether a person was speaking the truth or not. If Alexander had made Jack submit then Jack would have been totally loyal to Alexander even if he didn't show it to others, his former pack would have easily detected that something was wrong with Jack and had not believed him in any way.

While, Jack was meeting with the werewolves packs, Alexander was thinking about his next step regarding the werewolves. Alexander could not wait to slowly make the werewolves submit, Alexander planned to capture all the werewolves with one move. Alexander called Tobby and asked, " How many elves did the goblins really had with them, Tobby?"

Tobby, " There were thousands of us, Master but the goblins did not bound with us as they didn't like us having in their homes. Tobby thinks that they actually didn't have enough magic to do so. "

Alexander, " Can these elves ran from the goblins?"

Tobby replied, " No, Master!!! Nasty goblins made the elves sign a magical contract with them. We cannot run from them. "

Alexander, " Can you bring such a elf to me, Tobby? Can you enter the bowels of Gringrots, Tobby?"

Tobby replied, " Yes, Tobby can bring an elf to master. Tobby can enter the Gringrots but we cannot enter into the vaults."

Alexander, " Bring an elf to me now, Tobby."

Tobby shifted away and after few minutes returned with an struggling elf. Alexander heard the elf say, " Unhand me!!! Billy has work to do. Weird fellow, Unhand me."

Alexander who didn't want to waste time, for the first time flared his magical aura. Magical aura is particularly generated in powerful wizards and witches. Both Tobby and Billy stiffened in fear. Alexander could sense that all the people present in the mansion stiffing due to the pressure excluded by Alexander. Alexander had made sure that his magic don't extend beyond the mansion itself. After a few seconds, Alexander retracted his aura. Both Tobby and Billy still had not recovered. Alexander called out to Rose and ordered her to wake these fellows up. Rose poured bucket of water over them. After they came out of their shock, Alexander turned to Billy, " Billy!!! Can you feel the magical contract binding you?"

Billy nodded in acceptance.

Alexander, " Do you like working for the goblins? Do you want to work for me?"

Billy shook his head in denial and said, " Billy would like to work for the mighty wizard."

Alexander, " Say this, I submit to King Alexander and then you would be able to work for me."

Billy repeated Alexander's words and Alexander felt him connecting to him as a subject. Alexander then turned to Tobby and said, " Tobby, I want you and the rest of the elves to prepare all of my properties for housing people. Billy!!! I want you to go back to Gringrots and convince as many elves as you can to submit to me. Start with the elves you know." Alexander then removed the curses from Billy and transferred the knowledge of shiffting to him.

Alexander continued, " Tell the elves that if a hundred of them submit to me, they would become like you. Also, after I remove the curses from them, move on to the rest with the cured elves."

Both Billy and Tobby shifted away. After few minutes, Alexander felt a new subject connected to him. It took Billy a few hours to convince a 100 elves to become a subject of Alexander. Alexander had expected this, elves were dimwitted due to the curses places on them but they were not foolish. Alexander quickly removed the curses from all the elves who had submitted to him. After that, he felt a massive number of elves submitting to him simultaneously.

Alexander peered into the mind of Billy and saw that Billy had gathered an assembly of hundreds of elves to show that he was speaking the truth about his new master. As soon as Alexander changed the hundred elves standing behind Billy, all the gathered elves submitted to Alexander. Alexander then removed the curses from them also. This created a ripple effect and Alexander felt hundreds of elves submitting to him every minute.

Alexander waited for two minutes before dispelling the curses. After 6 hours, Alexander no longer felt any more submissions. Alexander found that a total of 150,000 elves had submitted to him. Alexander was surprised at the amount of elves and quickly found the reason. The goblins had so many elves because they did not liked to cook or clean so every vault was assigned a elf who cleaned it. Now, there were not that many vaults of wizards in the Gringrots, goblins had their own vaults in which they stored their valuables. The goblins also employed the elves in cleaning their city buit deep inside the earth. Now, the question arises from where the goblins got these many elves. It appears that the goblins were much nastier than Alexander had thought. They kidnapped homeless people from the muggle world and performed a ritual to convert them into house elves but only one in ten survived the ritual.

Alexander ordered the elves to continue working at Gringrots in disguise. Alexander was not worried that the elves would get caught as goblins had not personally bonded the elves to them, they cannot sense the breaking of bond. The room in which the magical contracts for elves were kept, could be only opened by higher officials and they were all busy dealing with the aftermath of the explosion. Alexander shifted in front of the room where the magical contracts were kept and seeped his king's might into it. Alexander found that the goblins stored all their magical contracts in one place and were too confident of their security. Alexander claimed the room as part of his kingdom quite easily as there was nothing living in that room. Now, the elves were safe as without Alexander's permission no one can enter this room and if no one can enter then no one would find out that the contracts are no longer valid.

Alexander then shifted his attention to the werewolves and started the next step of his plan which had become so much easier with the increased king's might, he had gained from his new subjects.
