33 Chapter 33

Hyatt Chan surprisingly impressed Kane. Looking at him you would not think much of him. He was fat but clearly had lost weight due to improper eating. This was due to his current financial system. Kane had learned that the man had been down in his luck and had been spending all his time drinking the bar dry. He also naturally seemed dumb and greedy. Both were not necessarily bad though. Kane also saw that the man had vision and was not a complete idiot even if he seemed like one. He wanted a lot in life and would take risks. This pleased Kane and made him consider the man as his kingdom's merchant. Working together with Chan would be very useful.

The man knew the value of the forest and Kane needed someone to sell to the other kingdoms. He could supply Chan with the wood, ore, food, and valuable beast parts like bones and fur. Kane did not want to directly deal with the other kingdoms currently and so he would have Chan use his independent merchant company to do his trading and they would split the profits. Kane knew that Chan would not betray him as not only did Kane invest in Chan's business he would also lend his own men to guard Chan. The guards could also inadvertently watch Chan to make sure he does not put Kane and his business ventures in jeopardy.

Kane made sure to sweeten the deal by gifting him some valuables and a plot of land in the kingdom to set up shop. "I am looking for to working with you Mr. Chan," said Kane. "I as well your majesty," said Chan while bowing and leaving to take care of business.

Kane was pleased with today's events and looked forward to having another source of income. Chan would also be a nice follower and very very useful. Plus setting up a merchant route between his kingdom and the others gave him an achievement.

[Congratulations on setting up a merchant business for your kingdom. Reward: Merchant caravan (Includes a well-made carriage and 4 large wagons) ]

Chan would be very happy with this as his carriage was full of holes. Kane would arrange for some horses and drivers for the caravan. He will also need to choose some guards to accompany Chan and have the dwarves make some armor. He wanted Chan's merchant business to seem like a stand-alone merchant group so he wanted them to have their own individual armor and clothes. He had a tailor make a fancy maroon and bronze robe for Chan as well as a hat that goes with it. The guards would wear full bronze plate armor with a long-tailed sallet. This should make the group seem wealthy and give Chan more business. He hoped the man would do well when he left for his first mission but was still a bit worried. He was tempted to summon an advisor or merchant to help him but decided against him. Kane would just have to have faith.

Kane decided to have Chan go out to a nearby kingdom to sell a bunch of logs and pelts. He got the best quality trees he could find as the stronger the wood the more they were worth. He also found from Chan what the best pelts were. He wanted ones that could be made into fancy clothes for the rich or sturdy clothes for workers. He had hunters focus on those beats and would put the pelts on the caravan when it was time to sell them. Kane sent a message to Sandford who was currently in the Lurris Kingdom. He was info gathering. Kane wanted him to find a place for Chan to set up shop and find people who would be interested in a long-term deal.

Kane was happy with the progress and decided to focus on some logging to supply his merchant friend with stock. He hired the local loggers to work directly for him. He had found out a decent plot of land in the forest where he would set up a loggers camp. It had very sturdy Iron Wood that was worth a lot. He would set up guards at the camp and have loggers focus on those trees. All he needed now was to find the perfect beasts to transport all that wood back to the kingdom. And he had the perfect ones in mind.

Kane searched through the system shop to find the creature from his world that he had in mind. He always thought these things were cool and he could use them like oxen. They could be used to carry heavy things and even fight in combat.

He found it and smiled to himself. He had always wanted to see dinosaurs and today would finally be that day. He lead some men outside to where they housed the wagons. He would set up 2 triceratopses to haul wagons full of logs. Later he would get more for ore and even war.

"BOT please summon 2 triceratopses," said Kane.

[2 triceratopses successfully summoned. 10,800 > 9,200 shop points left]

The 2 large dinos appeared in front of him and his men. The guards were shocked by these strange beasts and as usual, were in awe of Kane's summoning. It always impressed them. The dinos were calm in contrast tough their tough-looking appearances. Kane was getting a bit giddy. He may have seen many amazing creatures in this world but just like most humans from Earth, he had always wanted to see dinos in person.

A long-time childhood dream had finally been sated and Kane was also on his way to getting rich. Things couldn't be going better. He decided to go back inside to drink and feast. Tomorrow he would be busy as usual.
