Chapter 10

"HAHAHAHA you must be an idiot!" the head mercenary pulled out his sword while laughing at Kane. The other mercenaries who had arrived next to their leader were also laughing. The merchant looked confident with his guards but a hint of unease could be seen in his eyes. "We outnumber you and have better gear bandits. I suggest you get out of here before I decide to use your corpses as a place for my horse to take a shit!" The head of the mercenaries was rather loud and annoying not to mention overconfident. Kane could see the bandits beside him getting pissed. Their faces scrunched up and Kane had a feeling that he would have to act first. He flipped the mercenaries off with his middle finger which was the symbol to the bandits waiting to ambush the caravan that he was going to start the attack. Kane thought it was funny that he made the middle finger the signal because the people in this world did not know it was an insulting gesture. That is probably why the mercenary leader looked at Kane with a confused expression.

"I think it's you who is outnumbered," Kane said before running to the mercenary leader and jumping up into the air with his morning star raised above his head. He then slammed the weapon down which crushed the leader's skull. The 2 bandits next to him were also busy with one of them stabbing the tip of their spear into the head of one of the guards while the other jabbed their spear into the neck up another guard's horse which in turn bucked him off. Kane saw this and used it. He swung his weapon into the face of the guard who had fallen off the horse which killed him. Kane's senses warned him of danger from behind him and he whirled around to meet with the enemy but before he got the chance 2 arrows were shot in between the cracks of the mercenary who was about to slash out at Kane. These bandits may not have the best equipment but they were truly skilled. The archers that shot the guy must have been well trained to get such crack shots. Kane made a mental note to get to know the bandits better. He nodded in the direction of the archers before going back to join the attack.

At this point, Osborn and the other bandits came out of hiding and easily killed the remaining guards. They may have had better gear but they were weaker and outnumbered. The merchant and wagon drivers had already been killed at this point by the archer's arrows. The bandits were cheering because the iron armour and weapons were a good reward even if not the best quality and they were just the appetizers. The main course had yet to come.

Osborn and Kane walked up to the first cage to look at the beasts. "These are wargs," said Osborn. "It looks like a male and a female in each cage. These were going to be used for breeding" Kane looked at the wargs. They looked like much scarier versions of wolves and were bigger than wolfs too. "Should we bring them to camp?" asked Kane. "Yes, but it will be hard because we can't bring the weapons and we can't carry them. The wild beasts haven't been tamed yet either so they probably won't do what we command. Any ideas Kane?" Osborn had a frustrated look on his face. Kane thought for a second before asking the system a question "BOT do you have any taming abilities or something around those lines?"

[I do but the Host currently cannot afford to purchase one.]

"Hmmmmm then I may have another idea" Kane was disappointed but thought of something else. "Activate blood aura!" A dense aura of death could be felt around Kane's body. It made the nearby bandits sweat. "What is this Kane?" Osborn asked but Kane ignored him and walked inside the cage of the wargs. His aura was not at its highest strength and it was directed towards the wargs so it did not fully affect the bandits. The wargs would. usually, be able to withstand this but were injured when captured so Kane had an easy time making them fear him. They looked like pitiful puppies who just broke a vase instead of ferocious wargs that could eat a goblin whole. They slowly walked outside the cage with their heads low. "That's amazing!" yelled Osborn. "There are chains in the cage so use them like a leash. They won't try anything as long as they can sense my killing intent," said Kane. "I will get the other 2 and then we can head back. "Ok," said Osborn as he and the other bandits prepared everything to bring the wargs while Kane used his blood aura to force the wargs into submission.

After returning to the camp with the wargs thing had come a bit crazy. The bandits had to build a cage for them and make sure they didn't eat anyone. The loot had to be put in the cave at the back of the camp to stay safe. 5 of the bandits who had taken part in the caravan raid had received the iron armour including Osborn. Another 5 bandits were given their old leather armour to wear as well as the mercenaries swords. Kane was gifted a special piece of armour that included a chest plate, boots, leggings, gloves. They were made out of brown leather that came from a D-rank wild beast. They were as strong as the iron armour and more stylish. It was also much easier to move in them. It went well with his cloak and mask so Kane was happy. This armour had been Dallin's old armour that he apparently used when he was an adventurer. Kane was surprised to learn that Dallin used to be an adventurer because they hunt monsters for a living. It was interesting to learn this fact but it explains all the scars Dallin has. Dallin and the other bandits were happy with Kane and his skills. He made the raid much easier and that is probably why Dallin gave him this armour.

Kane was ecstatic with his first robbery and partied all night long with his bandit friends. It was nice to live like this and Kane was really happy he got put in this world and was even more thankful to the God of War for putting him here. It had not been that long but he had already experienced so much and was even more ready to witness what this world could throw at him. It was also fun to be a bandit. No matter what happened in the future Kane was ready to face it head-on. These were the thoughts Kane had while he drifted into a deep sleep on the roof of a storage hut. Kane and the other bandits may have had a drop too much to drink.
