Chapter 2

The golden lion continued to stare at Adrian trying to find what made the boy different than the others. The lion's soul was becoming chaotic almost like it was excited. The lion knew that this feeling would only mean one thing, he had found his chosen one. And if that was the case his long search was over.

Adrian's mind was running wild he couldn't think of a way to get out of this situation. He knew he was going to die here and there was nothing he could do about it. Many situations were playing through Adrian's mind about how the lion would do it when he heard a deep powerful voice "What is your name," Adrian looked up to see that the lion had spoken. Adrian stared wide eyed completely surprised at the lion as far as he knew Soul Creatures couldn't speak though to be fair, he did realise that he didn't know that much. Adrian knew that this was his chance if the lion could talk it had to be intelligent in some way and he started to think he could to talk his way out of this. "My name is Adrian," he said gulping down a large amount of saliva that was building in his mouth. And the lion responded instantly "Adrian, my name is Leon and I have been searching for you for a long time,"

"Searching for me. What the hell is this lion talking about," thought Adrian. Before Adrian could get another word, Leon had already started to speak. "Do you desire power Adrian?"

Adrian stared at Leon and thought about how if he had power, he wouldn't be in the position he was right now in life being bullied by those stronger than him and not being respected by the shelter members and so the answer to this question was obvious "Yes," replied Adrian.

Leon was thrilled, finally things were going right and with this boy help his dream would be accomplished. There was only one more question that Leon needed to do. "Would you like me to give you that power?" said Leon.

Adrian narrowed his eyes at the lion. This was getting stranger by the second, first the lion was able to talk and then had told him he was searching for him and now he was offering Adrian power. It just sounded to perfect to be true. Adrian needed power more than anything and now suddenly it just came to him he knew there must be a catch of some kind a price that the lion wasn't telling. Or was the lion just messing with him giving him false hope before tearing him apart. All that Adrian could do at this point was to continue the conversation there was no way to escape the lion and he was already communicating with it openly. "What's the catch?" replied Adrian he wanted to know exactly what this lion was going on about.

Leon was quite happy with Adrian's at this point. Leon's oppressive aura should have put Adrian on his knees as it did to most people. But the boy was still standing up straight. Leon knew that if he was his chosen, he would have some similar personality traits as him and to bring these traits out he started releasing some of his soul energy and mixing with Adrian's own soul. Because Adrian's soul hadn't rejected his energy this just made it even more clear that Adrian was his chosen one and that they shared the same soul. And that was of a dominating King. Leon knew he had to get Adrian on his side and there was no point in lying to him. "The catch Adrian is that you have to finish my dream for me,"

"And what is that dream?" replied Adrian his heart steady and his mind clear Adrian found it strange suddenly, but he couldn't feel the oppressive aura on the lion anymore and he felt quite confident of the situation like no matter what he did everything would work out.

"I want to be King of the Jungle Adrian. I want to rule the world,"

"King of the Jungle. Ruling the world. This lion has some big dreams," thought Adrian. Adrian still found himself completely calm he was sure that under normal circumstances he would be freaking out right now but right now nothing seemed to faze him he felt like he was in trance. "Aren't you meant to be a powerful legendary creature why would you need my help," said Adrian with a smirk on his face making it look like he was talking to someone inferior then him. Under normal circumstances if anyone had talked like that to Leon, he would have ripped them apart. But right now, he couldn't help but be excited this was what he was looking for in Adrian, Leon just needed to give Adrian power so he could back up that new cocky attituded of his. "A creature like me Adrian has only so long to live and I'm running out of time Adrian," replied Leon "I need you take my soul and put it inside your own it is very similar with what happens when you kill soul creatures and gain there soul but it's a hundred percent guarantee with me," as Leon said all of this he started to stop flowing his soul energy into Adrian making a deal with normal Adrian seemed easier than cocky Adrian even through technically their the same person.

Adrian didn't want to rush into things, while this was clearly a golden opportunity for him to gain power, he needed to be absolute right about this. He did start to notice that his over confidence seemed to be going away and Adrian started to feel like his normal self like the trance had been lifted somehow. But he still retained that calmness not showing any emotion on his face. He thought about what the lion had said. He knew that if he didn't accept that he would most likely never be able to gain power like this and he would be left getting beat up for the rest of his life. Adrian knew his answer. Gunther had told him a long time ago that he wouldn't have become such a good blacksmith If he hadn't taken a big risk a long time ago, and Adrian knew that this was his time to take a big risk. And so there was only one more thing left to say, "I accept,"

As Adrian said this a bright golden light came of Leon. Adrian tried to but couldn't look away he was fixed to the spot as the bright light got stronger and stronger it swallowed up everything ten meters radius of it including Adrian. Adrian felt warm at first within the light, and the pain hit him. He was burning up feeling like he was being burned alive, he was terrified as his body wouldn't move at all and all he could do was scream in his head. And in an instant, it was gone, the bright light disappeared, and Adrian found himself standing there one the field with no pain and no lion in front of him.

Adrian felt different as he stood there on the field moving his body around making sure everything was in working order. He felt confident and powerful but not what he had felt while in his trance. And he could feel something within his soul like there was something else there to be more exact a soul creature. A smile appeared on Adrian's face as he started jumping up and down. The lion had been telling the truth, Adrian could feel the power like it was alive within him and just as he was celebrating, he heard the same deep voice "You seem very happy," Adrian had stopped moving he knew this was Leon voice and he knew exactly were it came from. "Why are you in my head?"

"Well I gave you my soul do you think I'm just going to disappear without seeing you complete my wish," replied Leon "I'm not stupid and anyway the moment we joined I was given your memories and clearly you need someone to train you. You Barely know anything about Soul creatures or any martial arts,"

Adrian didn't know what to think of this. True he did need a teacher, but it seemed weird for him to have another entity within his mind. But it wasn't like Adrian could to much about it. Leon had given him power and now was going to teach him how to use it. It did seem that the positives outweighed the negatives for now. Before Adrian could think of anything else Leon started to speak again "We should get out of here and fast someone would have seen the light and I think it would be best if people didn't find you here,"

Adrian also thought that this would be a good idea while he did want to crush his enemies and help the poor, he needed to get a lot stronger and if people found out that he had gotten possession of such a Soul creature who knowns what could happen. It was getting quite dark anyway and he needed to return to the shelter they would be closing the gates soon and he would rather not be locked outside for the night.

Adrian ran towards the shelter and on what Leon had said he tried to make it look like he was coming back from another route. By the time he reached the gate he could see a large crowed had appeared. Emerald shelter was small compared to other shelters and only housed about a thousand people. The shelter was broken up into three sectors. The closet sector to the wall was where he lived the so-called poor sector the one above him the middle classed lived, they were also the closest to the gate and it was around this area that the poor ever got really see the middle class sector as took glances when leaving the shelter. The closest to the middle of the shelter lived the a few of the noble families. Adrian had also been told that this is how the cities also operated by dividing anyone. The poor weren't allowed at any of the other sectors unless it was for official business. Like the blacksmith that Adrian worked at which was in the middle sector. Guardsmen were posted at multiple places near each sector crossing line to make sure that the poor weren't going anywhere they weren't meant to go. And there was a multiple soul creature that looked like black birds around the poor sector letting lose a loud screech if anyone one tried to enter without seeing one of the guards first.

Adrian knew why the crowed had gathered clearly the golden light was easy to spot in the dark and as Adrian got closer to the stone walls and the gate, he could hear what the people were saying.

"Did you see the light apparently it was caused by a legendary Soul creature," said one woman wearing a red dress.

"I heard that the guardsmen are all going to gather in the hall to discuss what to do," said a woman who seemed to be holding a small boy in her hands.

"I hope the beast doesn't come any closer to the shelter imagine all the devastation it could cause," said a main wearing a fancy robe.

Adrian decided to run pass these people he had gotten a couple of glances but as he had come from a different route than the field of Glory it didn't really concern people what the orphan happened to be doing out so late. Adrian ran into the poor sector at this point all the guards knew that he worked for the blacksmith and it was quite easy for Adrian to travel through the poor and middle sector, if he didn't really cause any trouble. Making his way to where his house or more like shack was at the end of the poor sector. He had been given this shack because Gunther wouldn't allow his assistance to live on the street. As Adrian reached his shack, he could see the brown stone it was made from and the brown wooden roof that had seen better days. Adrian opened the door to his house took of his worn-out sandals and suddenly he felt exhausted barley managing to reach his bed without falling over he feel into a deep not realising the surprises that the next day would bring.
