28 Zeus Actions

Hades could already feel a headache coming towards him as he finally saw both Demeter and Hera standing fidgelly in the entrance of his palace. The Daemons that were present in the palace were looking ready for a battle.

Which was fair since the only guests he had ever brought to the Underworld were with him, while both of his sisters came uninvited. If it wasn't two goddesses that he knew for years, then he would be suspicious as well.

But I knew that this wasn't something that they wanted to be listened by anyone, so I gave them a mental order to retreat from the corridor and prevent anyone and anything from entering it.

"Sisters, while it is good to see you, I have to ask, what are you two doing here?" Hades asked, going straight for the heart of the matter.

Both of the newcomers looked at each other, looking like they were having a silent conversation, until Hera sighed and spoke. "There was a matter on Olympus, involving both Zeus and Metis"

"What happened?" Hestia asked, looking worried, as she should be. Hades himself already knew what the so-called 'matter' was.

After all, it was among the most infamous moments of Zeus, which, considering his track record, it is saying something.

Hera gulped before saying. "Zeus, he... he ate Metis"

Hestia let out a horrified gasp, while Hecate remained silent, but Hades could see clear as day that the King of Olympus action disgusted her. Hades himself felt nothing, as the matter did not affect him in no way, shape, or form.

Besides, he barely even knew the Titaness. After he was freed from Cronos stomach, he did not even interact with her besides the part where she was introduced to both him and his siblings by Zeus.

When the war happened, all possibility of interaction died, as he was too busy with his own fronts in the war, while Metis herself was following Zeus to whatever place he currently was.

Hades was certain that there would be those who would demain him for being so apathetic to Metis. But he was certain that if they knew what he knew, if they were seeing the entire multiverse as he saw it, they would quickly change their tunes.

After all, Metis and the Olympian struggles, hell, even the entire history of both humanity and the Earth. Were nothing in the grand scheme of things.

He looked at both Hera and Demeter, and felt the gazes of both Hestia and Hecate. He sighed before asking. "Why did Zeus do that?"

"Gaia came to him and said that Metis would give birth to a daughter and then a son who would overthrow him," Demeter explained.

'If he acts like that, then who wouldn't rebel?' Hades thought with mirth.

"But that... makes little sense," Hecate said, causing both Hera and Demeter to look at her, having finally noticed her presence.

"I am sorry, but you are?" Hera asked.

Hecate smiled. "Oh, I am sorry for not introducing myself. I am Hecate, Goddess of Magic and the second wife of your brother."

Both of his sisters looked shocked, with Hera asking Hestia if she was okay with this. The Goddess response was swift to such an important matter. "Yes, I am okay with it and no, I don't resent both of them because of it. And also, I am going to need help with our husband."

Hades mentally frowned because she withheld that the idea of a polyamorous marriage was pushed forth by her. But decided not to speak about it, as he was far more interested in what Hecate would say. "Now that we are finished in that particular matter, Hecate, what were you going to say?"

"Well, I noticed something quite glaring in that context. What Gaia told Zeus was a prophecy, wasn't it?"

"Yes"

"That cannot be. Gaia represents both plant and animal life. She doesn't have any hold in the currents of Time or Fate," Hecate explained, and Hades felt a revelation in his mind.

"Wait, you are telling me Gaia lied to Zeus?" Hades asked, baffled by something that made so much sense.

Hecate nodded. "Indeed, the only ones that can look into the future are those who can see the currents of Time and Fate, and Gaia is not one of them. And even if she was one of them, there is the fact that no prophecy is set in stone. The future is constantly changing thanks to all of our actions"

Hecate's explanation made sense to Hades. After all, while certainly a powerful being, Gaia never had shown a gift of foresight, up until the story of Metis and after that no prophecies were shown or discovered, because just as Hecate said, there isn't a prophecy.

Really, the entire event, alongside many others, could be summarized in two words: Self-fulfilling. In simple words, the mere act of trying to stop the prophecy in actuality was the exact catalyst necessary for it to be brought forth.

Zeus was lucky that instead of a child thirsting for revenge, the thing that came out of his forehead was a loyal daughter. But still, there was a simple question that was at the core of the matter.

"Why would she do this?" Hades asked what everyone was thinking at the sudden revelation.

But not even Hecate knew the answer. "I don't know. It may be because you imprisoned the Titans, but I am sure that she knew what fate awaited them when you and your siblings defeated them, my love."

"What if her action wasn't propelled by logic, but rather madness?" Demeter said.

"Sister, are you suggesting that Gaia has lost her mind? " Hestia asked with clear dread, a dread that was getting shared by the other Gods present.

Even Hades was feeling cautious about the situation. After all, the last thing he needed was an out of control Primordial.

'By myself, why does the Greek Pantheon have to such a mess? Hades thought, as a headache finally assaulted him. Really, why didn't he get reborn in a more normal divine pantheon that wasn't riddled with inner conflicts that can cause apocalypses?

'Wait no, every single divine family has an issue, Hades thought, remembering every single divine conflict that was caused by a X family member rebelling against or murdering Y member.

Really, it was a bit shocking that there were so many of them.

"If she is, then we must act," Hera said.

"How? She is a Primordial!" Demeter exclaimed in clear worry.

Hades saw that Hestia was going to pacify both of them, but he decided this time to take the iniative. "Demeter calm down, and Hera I agree with you that we must take action, but we have to consider a few aspects first. Hecate, is she on good terms with them?"

Hecate nodded. "She is"

Hades sighed. "Well, this makes things slightly complicated"

The conversation between himself and Hecate confused all of his sisters, so he explained. "There are forces that represent certain aspects of our reality. Two of these forces are the Red and the Green, who are personifications of animal and plant life, respectively, as a Primordial whose divinity is all of nature, she likely has dealings with both of them and some of the other forces."

"How powerful are they?" Hestia asked.

"Enough to cause many of us troubles, especially Demeter," Hades said, causing Demeter to lift an eyebrow in confusion.

"What are you saying?"

"They can do it?" Hades asked Hecate, causing her to nod. "Well, the green can weaken your powers"

Demeter paled in fear at that possibility, which was as fair as a god's powers was everything to them. Hades remembered from his lessons with Hecate, that while the various Parliaments couldn't take the power of a god, they could weaken it as the divine being in question was technically tied to them, they only had enough 'weight' to weaken it not take.

There was also the factor of the power of the God in question, as if he was too powerful. The effect of their weakening wouldn't even be noticeable.

"But don't worry, I have a plan on how to deal with her if the situation escalates," Hades said, causing all four goddesses to look at him with confusion, before realization dawned on Hecate.

"You are going to call them? " Hecate asked, with a note of exasperation in her voice.

"Yes"

"Are they even going to listen to you?"

"I have a feeling they will. Just trust me on this one, while I do that call for a meeting in Olympus, calling forth everyone it doesn't matter if they are Gods, Titans, Nymphs, or anything else that lives in our part of the Mortal World." Hades said.

"Brother, what are you planning?" Hestia asked, worrying over the little plot that they were hatching.

"Trust me sister, everything is going to be alright," Hades said with a smile.

After all, while many saw chaos, he saw opportunity. An opportunity that he would not waste.
