8 Titanomachy (II)

The two clashed and the earth quaked at every blow exchanged by the two. Hades knew that even a single hit from Atlas would be enough to severely wound him, Atlas greatest weapon was always his strength which is why he became famous in the first place, on the matter of physical strength it was Atlas that currently reigned supreme.

Keeping this in mind Hades kept long-range attacks using his powers. Bolts of shadow and flame that could have destroyed an entire city and spikes of ice that could pierce mountains flew towards Atlas who weathered them down like nothing and continued to charge at his enemy.

Atlas raised two of his four arms and brought them down on Hades who raised a wall of ice to block it, it instantly shattered but it provided enough time for him to move away from the blow who when it hit the earth completely shattered it sending huge splinters all across the landscape. Hades had managed to dodge those who went in his direction but was caught by surprise by Atlas who brought down his fist on the god.

Or he would have if black tendrils which emerged from the shadows grabbed it and the rest of his arms and proceeded to throw him away from their creator.

Atlas crashed down upon the earth, but even then he wasn't wounded, his legendary endurance showing itself, Atlas was not part of the first generation of Titans but was mightier than some of them only truly being surpassed by a few of the Titans.

Atlas charged once more and Hades conjured many Ice walls taller than many mountains, Atlas simply smashed through them, when he destroyed the last ice wall he was met with a wave of fire hot enough to reduce entire forests to ashes in just a few seconds, Atlas barely paid them any mind. Seeing that he was running out of options Hades froze the ground beneath Atlas, which made the mighty Titan lose his footing and slip backward in quite a comical scene. He was then blasted by the full might of Hades' starlight which made him sink to the bowels not that it would keep for him there for long.

Hades was trying to remember everything he knew about Atlas, and then a memory struck him. He remembered one of the stories his mother told about Atlas, how in his youth he had tried to challenge her older brother Oceanus, he was soundly defeated by Oceanus, but no one knew how Cronos had managed to hide the information of who he was defeated with the help of Oceanus who at the time still respected his king.

Now that he didn't he was all too happy to divulge the information to how did. You see while Atlas possessed immense natural defenses against many elements, he was particularly weak against lighting which as Oceanus was the Titan of Lighting made it all too easy for him to defeat Atlas.

After they learned this information both Poseidon and Zeus had attempted to capture or kill Atlas since both of them had lighting powers, unfortunately, their lighting paled in front of Oceanus who was much older and experienced than them on matters of lighting manipulation. While Zeus wields the living lighting which was the legendarily lighting of the Skyland, so did Oceanus and he was much more powerful than Zeus something which the god of thunder hated with a passion.

The result of the 'fight' was Zeus and Poseidon retreating with their respective armies after being defeated by Atlas since them they both had moved to other targets to breathe out their anger and frustration.

Hades himself had the powers of lighting but he kept them as one of his hidden cards but seeing Atlas arise from the earth using his four arms, Hades felt that this was the situation that called for them. Just as Atlas fully emerged from the Earth, Hades called forth his lighting. The lighting of Zeus was golden. The one of Poseidon was blue. The lighting of Hades was black which he found appropriate.

A wave of lightning bolts struck Atlas stopping the mighty Titan, for what Hades didn't have in skill he made up in sheer power. Atlas felt his body convulse, every part of it suffering under the onslaught, but he wasn't the titan of strength for nothing as he powered through which caused Hades to not only launch even more bolts of lighting but also create a wave of it to defeat Atlas.

Which he seemingly did as to the shock of the secret watchers, Atlas commander of the Titan forces, fell to his knees for the second time in his existence, not wanting to waste this prime opportunity Hades conjured an immense lighting spear to pierce Atlas head with. But just before he did so Atlas hit him with all of his strength, the dark armor took most of the blow but even them several bones in his body broke and he was not only unconscious thanks to the blow but also flew across the battlefield soon disappearing in the distance.

But Atlas did not have time to celebrate as the lighting spear did not disappear instead it made its way to Atlas shoulder, the last act of its creator before he went unconscious, the pain soon wrecked Atlas body as his internal and external parts were all continuously electrocuted but he had enough strength to make it back to Othrys.

Hades flew across the land that would be known as Greece in the future and landed in a mountainous region, unconscious he could do nothing as the three figures appeared and surrounded him.

"Is that who I think it is?"

"Do you have doubts sister look at his face, this is Hades!"

"Silence you two! Bring him to our home we were planning to join the war anyway those Titans have offended us for far too long, and this brings opportunity"

Tisiphone and Megaera nodded at the words of Alecto and brought the wounded Hades to the abode of the Furies.
