4 Chapter 4 : Shin vs Izuki

SHIN: Who goes first?

Izuki was pondering why the lad said he was different.

"This is the first time I met him, could he see through my Eagle eye?" wondered Izuki.

"Time to find out" thought Izuki.

IZUKI: You go first.

SHIN: Really?thanks.

Both of them walked to the 3 point arc while Izuki gave Shin the ball.

Izuki was preparing for defending when suddenly Shin said something.

SHIN: Wait!

IZUKI: What?

SHIN: Can I dribble around first so I can familiarize with the ball, Its been sometime since i held one.

IZUKI: Alright.

Shin then started to dribble randomly while occasionally losing the ball in his hands.

Seirin's members could only shake their heads as they watch Shin. Especially Riko who kept wondering if this guy really knows how to play.

Coz the way she sees it. This guy doesnt even know how to properly dribble the ball.

Before they know it, Shin suddenly says hes done warming up with the ball and is now ready.

Izuki responded by getting ready on defense.

Shin then started his dribble bouncing the ball to his right then to his left.

"Why dont I feel any pressure? from this guy. Its like I can definitely tell he's just ordinary, nothing special. I guess its normal since I already competed against those monsters, especially Akashi". Thought Izuki as he was watching Shin bouncing the ball to his left.

Shin suddenly move towards the left which Izuki anticipated. But to his surprise Shin did a crossover to the right which made him almost stumble "Crap" muttered Izuki.

Luckily he recovered immediately and caught up with Shin. As he was glad he caught up Shin suddenly did a stepback to the 3 point line then prepared for a shot.

KOGANEI: Thats familar.

RIKO: Its the same move Izuki did to you.

KOGANEI: Oh? Wait What?.

Riko was shocked by the move that Shin used against Izuki.

She cant help but think about Kise's Perfect Copy.

But there was no pressure surrounding around him at all, its like Shin is just an ordinary player.

"There's something definitely different about him but what is it?" says Riko.

Izuki who saw Shin suddenly used a step back away from him preparing for a shot almost had him kneeling. But still kept on as he was bent on stopping him so he jumped to block him.

Shin seeing Izuki jumping continued his dribble before letting his other hand touch the ball and dribbled towards the basket.

Izuki realizing everything was his move against Koganei couldnt help but curse "F**k". He gritted his teeth after landing and ran fast trying to block Shin who was already preparing to shot with 1 hand.

He jumped thinking he could catch up in time for the block but to his dismay, He only flew by Shin who didnt let go of the ball from his right hand (Michael Jordan 1 hand Fake) it was another fake.

Time seemed to slow down as he was passing by Shin whom he saw smiling and says "Dont hurt yourself" to Izuki. Then Shin banked the shot using his right hand.

Izuki then crashed to the floor after falling for another fake. Feeling like all the strength of his legs gave up. Luckily he was alright just that for him it felt like he was worn out from just that possession.

Shin then walks towards him, offers his hand to help Izuki get up who accepted it gladly as he saw him not showing any arrogance or disdain to what happen to him.

Everyone was shocked seeing what happened to Izuki. Riko couldnt help but ask Hyuga and Kiyoshi.

RIKO: Did you see that?

KIYOSHI: Yeah, Its like my Right of Postponement but he incorporated it with every move he made from dribbling to the last fake before his shot.

HYUGA: Not only that Kiyoshi, Every move he made had conviction. Like he would really do it if not for Izuki trying to block him. Its like Playing against Mibuchi from Rakuzan and Himuro from Yosen. The grace and finesse.

RIKO: I thought he said he has not played for a while.

HYUGA: That's what i also thought. Clearly as he was familiarizing himself with the ball he was having a hard time.

KIYOSHI: I guess there's another one we should look out for if he doesnt come to our school.

RIKO: Another one of those prodigies huh.

HYUGA: But still we dont know if he's showing us everthing. We'll have to observe more.

Both Riko and Kiyoshi nodded at the same time looking in anticipation.

SHIN: Ready for another one? My ball again right?

IZUKI: Yeah, I will be ready this time.

SHIN: Good, thats what im talking about.

As Shin was starting his dribble Izuki noticed that it was the same attack as before. Anticipating the crossover to his left he tried to poke the ball only to see it travel faster than before.

Seeing the step back again he cant help but run then jump ahead to block but to his surprise, Shin did another step back but this time Shin was holding the ball with two hands jumping for the shot.

He was farther away from the 3 point arc. Izuki realizing he cant catch up just landed a meter and a half away from Shin.

Again he lost the strength to his knees prompting him to kneel and look up at Shin who was already in the air releasing the ball.

Izuki could only mutter " What a beautiful shot". Before hearing a swish behind him.

KOGANEI: Captain why did Izuki jump when he knows its the same move again? Wasnt that a travel?

HYUGA: Its because he saw that guy would shoot if he doesnt contest it. He was only aiming for him to miss the shot.

KIYOSHI: It wasnt a travel. The first stepback he did he was only holding the ball in his 1 hand then did it again but this time he was holding the ball ready to shoot. That last move was like a hop step but instead of moving forward he did it backwards.

HYUGA: A perfect move to confuse and surprise your enemy especially if your a shooter. What I didnt expect was his range.

RIKO: We havent seen everything but I guess he is a player who can play other positions, just like Kiyoshi. That right of postponement of his is integrated in every move he makes, which makes him difficult to guard especially on a team game.

KIYOSHI: There's something I also noticed, I think he can also predict his opponets movements. Just like that freak from Rakuzan.

RIKO: What? Emperor Eye?

KIYOSHI: Its just a hunch but I cant rule out the possibility.

"Captain you have to stop their 1 on 1 or Senpai would break"

Hearing this Hyuga turned around spotting Kuroko and Kagami.
