2 Denial

Hearing the glass cup shattering followed with panicked footsteps.

The general stared at the door for a brief moment before releasing a sigh.He stood up from his chair and slowly shuffled towards the window to look out outside.

The view was amazing,the moonlight from the full moon was illuminating everything,shining even the darkest part of the city with a gentle light.Skyscrapers filled the city to the brim,tiger people walking in the walkways.It created a peaceful image that would calm one's mind if one were to look at it.

While the general was calming himself down,he heard footsteps coming towards him.Lu Sun came to stand beside him, admiring the view with him.

"Was it really necessary to do this?To your own child?You do know he will come to resent you soon enough."said Lu Sun with a deep monotone voice with his benign smile no longer present on his face.

"I will do what I must to fulfill the promise I made to my wife.If I can protect my family,I wouldn't blink an eye if everyone come to resent me"replied the general with a calm voice while staring at the view.

"Is there so other way?This is too difficult to bear for a 7 year old child,having his whole world collapsing around him."asked Lu Sun

"There is no other way,a power struggle is occurring in the royal court.The current king is intending to stay in power holding the throne either with brute force or threats.The crown prince is not patient either, already being of 70 years old he would still need to wait another 30 years before the current king reached 150 years old to die from old age.He is intending to change the old regime with a new one that he can control like mindless puppets,slowing dwindling the support of the current king.To finally be able to ascend the throne.With me being only general that has not chosen a side,when I realized this,it was already too late.The two parties are putting extra attention on me,if I made the wrong move our family could disappear in an instance.If I choose a side,the side I chose will doubt my loyalty while the side I don't choose will seek to destroy me."said the general with a sigh.

"Furthermore,when the two sides finally fight.We will be the first to be destroyed as we are a variable to their plans.I would need Tate to distance himself from the inevitable end that is why I must have him hate me to protect him.Plus we simply can't hide Tate cultivation speed for much longer under watchful eye of the royalties,if they realized that there is a talented heir to our family it will accelerate our destruction further"added the general.

"Anyways enough about this,what is the intelligence report on the other kingdoms?"asked the general.

"Our intelligence report shows that the enemy kingdoms are gathering rations,rallying their troops and supplying them with weapons."said Lu Sun

"Ahh seems like war is unavoidable now.I really wonder who is the one controlling them in the shadows,they wouldn't have the guts to bear their fangs at us if they don't have a powerful backer behind them."said the general in a condescending manner.

"All right we done here,there are too many troubling news today.It is giving me a headache."said the general as he waved Lu Sun away.

Darkness slowly filled the study until the last flicker of light was put out.

As Tate was running through the corridor,his head was filled with doubt, doubting what he heard was true or not

Tate keep running and running lost in his thoughts,tears clouded his vision he could not see where is he and where is he going.

Suddenly he tripped and skid through the floor,bruising his knees in the process.

As his thoughts started returning to him due to the pain,he realized that he was right in front of his room.Slowly picking himself up,he limped towards his room and closing the door behind him shut.

Tate did not know there was another pair eyes paying attention to whatever he is doing in the shadows.Struggling to decide to come out or not, ultimately decide not to,the pairs of eyes slowly disappeared into the darkness.

In Tate room, moonlight shone upon Tate's room.Tate could be seen limping towards his bed,laying his head on his bed thinking about what happened earlier.

"Why did father say he wants to abandon me?Was I not a good boy?Did I do something wrong?"thought Tate these questions were constantly revolving around his mind.

"No,no,no father said I'm not worthy because of something I did.Did he find out I've been eating candy after I brushed my teeth?I won't do it anymore will that make father praise me again?"Tate mumbled

"Maybe I just need to work harder in my cultivation to please father.He did say I should train harder"thought Tate

"Yes that right I just need to work harder.ill try to breakthrough to the 2nd stage within the next 3 years."

Within the next 3 years,all Tate did was stayed in his room only coming out for food.His schedule all day was eat,sleep,train and repeat.Keeping his head clear of sad thought always keeping training in mind to cope with the problem.

On the night before his 10th birthday,Tate was nearly reach the the doorstep of the 2nd stage.Time was ticking down,hour by hour,minute by minute,second by second.

Tate has finally reached initial 2nd stage.Fur started to grow all over his arm and back,his canines and claws started to grow longer and sharper,a tail suddenly grew out from his tail bone with two black lines wrapping around it.

Two black stripes started to emerge from his shoulders and wiggling closer to each other to form a cross over his chest.

Roar!

Tate in baihu beast transformation form released a roar of satisfaction.As strength filled his body and blood started to pump stronger and faster.

Badump!Badump!

After several of minutes pouncing all over his room.His beast transformation period has ended,he is now lying down on his stomach on the ground snoring deeply as this is first time in 3 years he slept so deeply.

"Praises,praises...."Tate mumbled in his sleep.
