Each cultivation realm is divided into nine stages. the currently known realms in the story are:

Qi gathering

Core Consolidating

Golden Core

...

Each person can then choose a fighting path, which is a way to use heavenly energy (qi) to fight. The currently known fighting paths are:

Weapon cultivator: uses martial techniques,

Elemental cultivator: uses heavenly energy of specific elements to use magic techniques,

Summon cultivator: forms contracts and summons spirit beasts to fight for them.

Spirit weapons are classified into Poor, Initial, Intermediate, Advanced and Masterful, with each level being further divided into three stages: Low, Middle and Peak.

Talismans and Formations are both created by Formation masters. There are different types of these artifacts, such as Defensive or Offensive ones, as well as ones which create illusions.

The ranking system is the same for Talismans and Formations:

Rank 1: effective in qi gathering realm,

Rank 2: effective in core consolidating realm,

and so on for each realm of cultivation.
