7 The pieces come together

It is morning time in the United Kingdom/Brittany, the year is 1879 and rays of sunshine are passing thru the window in a certain bedroom from the Joestar mansion right on top of Adam's sleeping face

Adam's sleeping face frowned, the sunlight is too strong, it is like a flashbang, disrupting his peacefull sleep or rather his previously peaceful now not so peacefull sleep

"God damn it can someone turn off the Sun?" Having had enough molestation from the pesky Sun Adam woke up and grumbled while uncovering himself and sitting on the bed, the archenemy of all Otaku and Neet, the Sun has always been an opponent Adam has struggled with even in this life

"Well, unfortunately, I don't think that is possible dear brother." As always Dio is the early bird, sometimes waking up an hour before Adam, so he mostly spends the time until Adam wakes up in peace, reading something, thinking about something or planning something

"Dio, nothing is impossible, in the future, if I want the Sun to be turned off, it will be turned off." Said Adam as he rubs his head, he has a casual and relaxed expression on his face while his tone of voice is playful as if what he said is something that truly is gonna happen and Adam knows that, thanks to the powers known as stands, not even the Sun is powerful enough to stop Adam, that is under the condition that Adam manages to get a proper stand

'Brother, you really are an amazing person, you even challenge the Sun itself and say that you can win.' When Dio heard Adam's statement his eyes widened and he clenched his teeth for a moment, he doesn't believe that it is possible for someone or anyone to influence the Sun and no one has ever tried to do it, not even the drunk bums on the street would dare say such an outrageous statement yet here comes his brother and says that he will accomplish such a feat, it really makes Dio amazed with his brother

"Anyways, when is breakfast?" Says Adam as gets up and goes over to the closet and picks out to wear his only suit for the rest of the day, it is getting really annoying to have only one decent article of clothing so today Adam plans to go shopping

"We have 30 more minutes until breakfast and an hour after that come to our lectures." Says Dio disinterested as he turns back to his book, he is more or less sure that whatever Jonathan's father teaches him is something he already knows so he had a general disinterest in the lessons, he attends them only so that he can appear in a better light, and on the occasions he does learn something new Dio picks out a book on the topic and reads about it after the lessons

"I see, well then it would be better for me to suit up." Says Adam as he puts on his clothes, the clothes of this time are not nearly as advanced nor comfortable as the ones from Adam's previous time so Adam is always discontent when he puts on the clothes even 12 years after he was reborn and has spent in this time, fortunately Adam has to wait only a century and a half for him to regain his previous lifestyle

For a normal human a century is an unimaginable long amount of time to live, a century and a half is even worse however Adam is unaging, and he plans on using the stone mask/Kars to become the ultimate being, so aging isn't really an issue for Adam, so a century really isn't that long for him

Adam spent the next 30 minutes in silence adjusting his suit, it takes a lot of time and care for Adam to make himself look good in a victorian suit, he wonders how Jonathan fits into one of these when he gets older, but the dressing up did help Adam in getting his mind off the 30 minute wait for the maid to come

After 30 minutes the maid finally came, it is the same maid as from the previous morning, Adam smiled sweetly at her, making her face blush into a deep crimson color, while Dio kept his cold face

With steady steps and casual expressions, Adam and Dio followed the maid for a minute or two before soon they arrived at the table where breakfast is already served

Jonathan's father is sitting at the head seat while Jonathan is modestly and shily sitting on his right, when Jonathan saw and heard Dio coming down the stairs he seemingly shriveled, making himself look smaller

Jonathan looks like he had gone thru hell, he has bandages all around his body practically covering all of his skin, some of them even have dried blood on them, the skin that is exposed is mostly swollen and bruised especially around his eyes and lips which have blown into at least triple their size making it hard to see or eat for Jonathan

"Man you really did him in good." When Adam saw how Jonathan looked he was quite amused and almost giggled but he couldn't allow a smirk nor a giggle to escape on to his face, if he did Jonathan and his father would cause trouble for him, so he whispered his thoughts into Dio's ear

"Hmph." When Dio heard Adam he lifted his chin up raising his nose to the sky and humping in triumph and arrogance, he had taken his frustrations out on Jonathan, he expected nothing less from himself and Jonathan if Jonathan was in a better condition Dio would have considered this a badly done job

Before long both Adam and Dio have taken their usual spots at the dinner table, on the left of Jonathan's father right next to each other with Dio being closer to Jonathan's father and the opposite of Jonathan

"Good morning sir Joestar." The first thing both Dio and Adam did after sitting down is to greet Jonathan's father, he is the head of the house, so they have to pay their respects to him first and foremost to which he just nodded

"So Jojo how are you?" After that Adam turned around and asked Jonathan how he is in a concerned voice which is, of course, fake, being kind and sympathetic is Adam's job, being cold and distant is Dio's job

"I'm all right." When Jonathan heard Adam he tried to smile in his direction while saying that he is alright or at least he tried, because of how swollen his face is his 'smile' was not a proper smile while the words barely came out of his mouth and they were not even proper words more of a jumbled mess than anything

"Well, that is good, sorry if Dio went a little too hard on you." When Adam heard Jonathan he put on a sorry expression befoe he apologized for the actions of his brother, but even for Adam it is hard to understand what Jonathan has said because of how swollen Jonathan's face is

"It's fine, from the beginning, it was my fault for running away like that." When Jonathan heard Adam speak he was relieved, he had found out that Adam stepped in when Dio was beating him black and blue, or rather when Dio was torturing him and Adam came in protecting him from his very own brother so Jonathan is very thankful to Adam for that

'They are both brothers and even siblings yet they are so different.' When Jonatha heard what happened that was his thought and right now that opinion has been strengthened, Jonathan is already sure that he will not get along with Dio but he quite likes Adam and his behavior

To Jonathan, Adam is a fellow gentleman, he stopped his own flesh and blood related brother Dio on multiple occasions when he was doing something wrong and stopped him from hurting more people including Jonathan and Jonathan's dog Danny, even thou Dio is his brother Adam stopped him when he was doing something bad so to Jonathan Adam is a fellow gentleman

The rest of the breakfast was spent eating in silence, neither Dio nor Adam felt like talking, Jonathan couldn't talk much since if he did he face would hurt and Jonathan's father felt that this is a matter between the younger generation so he shouldn't get involved besides that in his opinion there isn't much to talk about

"I'm done." Within minutes Adam had eaten all of his food, it was nothing special some meat and bread but to Adam, it was very good, after all, Adam is a meat lover

"I will be going outside." Said Adam as he stood up and straightened his suit, he had noticed it was a little wrinkled so he decided to straighten it out a bit, Adam has to take good care to look good, and a wrinkled suit is definitely not a good looking feature

"All right, but make sure to come back by lunch." Was all that Jonathan's father said as he continued on carefully eating with his face facing the plate of food in front of him, not minding Adam at all

"All right." Said Adam as he went out of the dining room and towards the front door before he opened the front door and exited the Joestar mansion

'Now then how will I find Erina?' Thought Adam as he started walking down the road and towards town, he plans on corrupting Erina however for that he has to approach her but besides that Adam has to get friendly with the surrounding people for his and Dio's future plans to work so Adam thought of a method that will do both of those things at the same time

However for it to work Adam has to meet Erina but Adam can't just ask someone like her friends, her parents or anyone really where Erina is since that would ruin the plan Adam has in mind for Erina

So while Adam thought about his plan and realized forward absentmindedly he didn't notice that in front of him stood a blonde-haired girl with snow-white skin and a snow-white dress holding a basket full of grapes looking straight towards him

"Um excuse me, are you, Adam Brando?" Adam was suddenly brought out of his stumped state by a voice calling out to him from his front, it is a very nice, mellow female voice, the type that gentle ladies have

'Well hot damn, it seems as thou lady luck has blessed me.' When Adam saw who was in front of him he couldn't help but grin, it reminds him of a saying he once heard 'Speak of the devil and he shall come' although Erina isn't a devil yet that saying still applies to her

"Well yes that is me, do you need any help miss?" Adam was quick to react immediately after he realized who was calling out to him he acted friendly and kind, it's showtime and Adam plans to make this a great show

"I heard that you are living with Jonathan Joestar so I was wondering if you could deliver this to him." Erina shily fiddled with her thumbs for a bit, hesitantly meeting Adam's eyes before she gave Adam a basket full of grapes and Jonathan's handkerchief to Adam

"Well, I will surely do that." Said Adam as he gently takes the basket full of grapes from Erina's hands, underneath his kind face Adam is smiling like the devil, this basket is never going to reach Jonathan, instead it is going go serve Adam as a way of getting closer to Irina

"Thank you." Was all that Erina said as she bowed to Adam before she turned around showing her back to Adam and planned on going back home however that was just a plan of hers

"Excuse me miss but before leaving could you help me with something?" When Adam saw that Erina was about to go away he knew it was his time to act, the plan he has carefully set up for Erina is about to get set into motion

"I will gladly help you if I can." When Erina heard that Adam needed some help from her she turned around and gladly offered her help to Adam however she is curious about what could it be that Adam needed her help with

"Well you see I don't have a lot of clothes, this is actually my only suit. So I was wondering if you could help me pick out a new pair of clothes." Yes that is Adam's master plan, although it isn't anything too intricate and shrewd it will get the job done and that is all it needs to do, the rest will be taken care of by Adam

"Sure." When Erina heard what Adam wanted of her she put her hand on to her lips and giggled cutely, she can't believe that that is the thing Adam wanted her help for

So began Erina's and Adam's shopping journey, they went to town and Erina introduced all of the major shoops to Adam their owners included, who were more than happy to accept someone from the rich Joestar family such as Adam as their customer

Thanks to Erina Adam was able to buy ample shirts, suits, pants, underwear and lot's more while getting a few appointments for tailor-made suits and robes

Overall Erina and Adam had fun that night Erina because she was with Adam who constantly made her laugh, entertained her, gave her a warm feeling and overall made her feel happy while being around him

While Adam was happy that he could finally get a new set of clothes, only having 1 set which you wore for the last few days that is including the underwear is not very comfortable especially so in the victorian times

So a few hours had passed without both of them noticing the passage of time and it was time for the separation, them to return home, at least for Adam who had to return and eat lunch before his lessons started in an hour

"Hahaha, that was really fun Adam." Said Erina as she came out of a shop giggling and laughing, Adam has just told her something funny so she can't help herself as she walked next to Adam who has quite a few clothes in his hands and stacked on top of him

"Well yes it was wasn't it Erina." Said Adam as he listened to Erina, it is quite amusing to him when he hears how Erina talks fo him, how she behaves and what she does, he hasn't met a girl as pure as her, ever, and it is that pureness that Adam wants to and eventually will corrupt

"You are different than the rumors say, Adam." Says Erina as he walks next to Adam, she feels quite bad that she judged Adam by the rumors she heard and that the first time she saw him she wanted to get away as soon as possible because she believed he was like the rumors said

"Well that is funny, what do the rumors say about me?" When Adam heard that there are rumors about him he was glad, it means that everything is more or less going according to plan

"I heard that you were a monster who kills people without blinking, that you took on 3 men on your own and killed them, that you are a heinous man that would do anything to get his way." Said Erina as she recollected all of the things that were said about Adam by her friends and other town fold, Adam had earned quite a bad reputation by doing what he did in the boxing ring

"It is expected, I have always been stronger, stranger, different. An outcast wherever I went, not wanted by anyone. But you shouldn't worry about me, I have my brother Dio with me so I will always be alright." When Adam heard what he put on a bitter and self-mocking smile and looked at Erina's face as he talked making it look like he is hurt, how he has always been hurt by other people because they don't understand him and how that in actuality Adam is very lonely, which is all bullshit Adam made up to get closet to Erina

'He must have been hurt, all those people all those years alone with only his brother. And I am behaving just like everyone else, it must have hurt.' When Erina saw Adam's face she wanted to cry, it turns out that Adam isn't a bad person like everyone said just lonely and misunderstood and she behaved like one of the people that made him feel this way she felt horrible

"Well anyway, it is time for lunch. Shall we meet tomorrow as well as Erina?" Said, Adam as he walked a little ahead of Erina clearly intent on going forward without her

"Yes, I would like Adam." Said Erina as she smiles at Adam before she couldn't see him anymore as he had already sprinted off towards the Joestar mansion

'All the pieces are here, now all that is left is to play the game.' Thought Adam as he walked back to the mansion, today was a very fruitfully day for Adam, he has achieved a lot of his goals, all that is left is to go ahead and start the game of chess, with Adam being both black and white
