23 [Kunlun] (2)

Now that he had decided on [Kunlun], Jiang Cheng was no longer hesitant, and he started working again at full speed. This time it was no longer the history of the Ming Dynasty, but the history of the late Song Dynasty and it's transition into the Yuan Dynasty, which was also intertwined with the history of the countries of the Western Regions at that time, that he had to research.

But Jiang Cheng was drawn in. He enjoyed doing the research not just for the book but inorder to deepen his own knowledge as well. It was a good thing without any harm.

However Jiang Dejun and Gao Linlan had thought that Jiang Cheng having finally escaped from under his busy schedule would take some time to rest before school began. They didn't expect that he would relax for less than two days before he started to get busy again.

Jiang Dejun wasn't too surprised because he knew Jiang Cheng was thinking of writing another book, but he was a little taken aback that he had decided so quickly.

But Gao Linlan was bitter seeing him working so hard and began more than once nagging him to stop writing.

Jiang Cheng promised, but he didn't stop, but his heart felt warm. So as before, he only wrote eight hours a day, and then took a rest. Gao Linlan seeing that he was so self-disciplined, eventually didn't say anything more.

He was still writing about 40,000 to 50,000 words a day.

Despite that he could remember [Kunlun] cleanly with his enhanced memory, as per his habit, Jiang Cheng still made some changes, he changed sections of the plot to better suit the image of some characters, he made the relationships between the characters more tight and adjusted a portion of the conflicts in the novel so they were more reasonable. Character descriptions were made more vivid and specific, and he added even more emphasis on portraying the tragic and desolate scenes of the war more, highlighting the main theme of the novel.

Jiang Cheng was very thankful that he had created [Stories About The Ming Dynasty] before, and accumulated a lot of experience. Having written about history and war before, describing things like the battle of Diaoyucheng, the bloody battle of Xiangyang, the battle of Yashan etc came slightly easier.

After writing about the demise of two dynasties, Jiang Cheng couldn't help but sigh at the ruthless nature of civilization and its drive to advance nonstop.

During this period, Jiang Cheng also consulted his father, Jiang Dejun, on a few things whilst writing.

Jiang Dejun was surprised, he didn't expect that Jiang Cheng would actually choose to write a martial arts novel despite what he had said. But Jiang Dejun still encouraged his son's decision and answered his questions one by one.

Jiang Dejun deserved to have been engaged in literary research for many years. Jiang Cheng's questions were answered in depth, which benefited him a lot.

During this, Jiang Cheng also received a call from Professor Yi Zhongtian, thanking him for the Shanghai Tangren linkup, he had agreed to help them adapt the script for [The Book and the Sword]. Jiang Cheng congratulated him on securing the gig.

When Yi Zhongtian learned that Jiang Cheng was writing another book, he was surprised at his speed and actually brought up that he had been flirting with the idea of writing a book of his own.

He asked Jiang Cheng for his opinion and suggestions, both of which Jiang Cheng was naturally more than pleased to give, Jiang Cheng encouraged him to write and made sure to make suggestions that would nudge him in the direction of writing the [Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms].

Yi Zhongtian was thrilled with his proposals. After studying the Three Kingdoms for so many years, he was full of stories and anecdotes from that era, he loved sharing them with his friends, family and students. So he was pleased with the idea to incorporate everything together into a story to share.

With that, thanks to Jiang Cheng, Yi Zhongtian hurriedly hung up the phone and got to work. And so presumably, the book [Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms] by Yi Zhongtian would soon appear, and Southern Weekly could have yet another best-selling book.

Jiang Cheng, put down the phone and sighed involuntarily: The butterfly effect of him traversing back to the past was beginning to show and was bound to pick up speed with his continuous interventions.

After a month, [Kunlun] was complete.

And finished writing, Jiang Cheng gave Jiang Dejun [Kunlun] to read. To which Jiang Dejun sighed, he didn't expect the kid could really write another book in a month.

Picking up the printed out manuscript, he saw that on the front page was written [Kunlun], with 'by Bright Moon' written just below.

Flicking over the page, he saw the preface that read: "Green plants, friends from far away, mountain flowers laughing, the bright moon out; a friendship to be spoken of for a thousand years; everlasting; The grass is green, and guests are far away, hearts like a golden jade, there a sound, a beautiful lady laughs, and a teenager beams a smile, their joy ringing out across the majestic, mountains of Kunlun!"

"This...such a spirited opening!" Jiang Dejun said to himself, as he read the preface.

Drawn in and excited Jiang Dejun flipped over to the first chapter of [Kunlun]

And at a glance he was fascinated.
