1 Green Gold

I was to my feet immediately upon regaining consciousness. My body was swayed one bit of fabrics surrounded by fruit and other treasures. I grabbed one of the blankets and filled it up with as much is the fruit as I could I know that this work was going to take a long time and I don't want to waste a single second.

As I filled up the blanket and tied it around myself up again to think back to wonder why exactly the priesthood and killed me I know all too well that there was no deity and he knew too. And yet he told me he was tying up loose ends would've been easier to kill me instead.

I don't know I don't care too much to find out. I just wanted to go I have been walking for a while maybe an hour maybe two maybe less but all I know is that I've seen this area before I've passed this tree three times and I keep finding myself at this pile of gold every time I go in either direction and finally my numbness broke and I was filled with worry, concern, fear.

Why do I keep wounding up back here I'm not making any turns I'm heading straight why do I keep getting back into this opening there's nothing there's no reason for me to be here I'm so close to freedom and yet I'm still attached to my past to when I came from why was I still here.

I didn't have an answer and I doubt anyone was going to give me one I was completely alone surrounded by nothing but the song of the words crinkling up the leaves and my thoughts.

I sat down back on the blankets I pulled out an apple and I bit into it. This had to be my mind playing tricks on me It had to be that I was still very dizzy, tired maybe. I've been walking in a circle this entire time, maybe.

I made it through about three apples before the serenity of the forest and my quietness was a probably broken by the loud sound of something crashing down in the distance.

It wasn't far from me I didn't move I didn't budge I don't want to bring any attention to me then I looked down at my clothes the crusted brown of the splotchy flaky blood that still was on me it stunk. Whatever the creature was it was bound to of smelled me before It would hear me with this really be the end of me what I really just get mauled in the woods by some random creature.

It was almost poetic a girl hoping for the same thing that everyone wanted which was pure happiness was on the brink of reaching it only to get viciously mauled by a wild animal.

I knew running would be a dumb decision because the animal may not even know I'm here yet and might be stocking something else and even so telling for how close it is a bit dumb to start running now anyways and eventually catch up to me I just sat down and waited for it to eventually happen.

When whatever it was finally reached close to the clearing I heard a rustling in the bushes before it emerged and I didn't even looked at the creature to find out who the culprit of my death would be but as soon as I did, I knew it was a mistake.

When I looked over I didn't see a bear or anything of that caliber what I did see was absolutely terrifying.

It was hunched over it was long it was lanky and it looked downright menacing it had pitch silver hair and pitch black skin and bright red eyes. They looked icy against its ebony skin it was equipped with long talents the hind legs look like that of a dogs there's a pause stuck up dirt and flung it as it slowly inch towards me the right resembled something of a talent instead of there being three there was five almost like a hand it had long pointed finger nails that promised nothing but danger with every move it made.

I didn't say a word I just stared and up so all in fear I slowly inch back but it kept paste and pick up an even unbroken eye contact. My back at the trunk of a tree and the creature continue to move towards me I stopped breathing I stopped moving and I just stared at the impending doom slowly inching towards me staring me down.

It's long Talon like fingers and a tiny legs or gold did slowly faded into the pitch black it had an old rusty chain around its left hind leg and had a golden color around it's neck with a broken chain attached to it had two sets of Longhorns both of them golden that faded into the pitch black of its skin it's eyes now that they were closer to me were sunken. It's cheekbones are sharp and angular it had jagged teeth every time It pulled back to snared every time I made a slip up or moved to much.

Who is finally right in front of me and enjoy for my face it's white shoulders and almost sickly skinny body was right in front of me. It slipped up my face then at Michael's and gave a large group for a tour really do bloody fabric that covered me I still didn't move.

Once it was satisfied with the amount of fabric it pulled away from me it moved over to the pile of blankets and fruit it's a down on the blankets it picked up a few of the fruit and ate one of them whole or continue to eat some of the fruits before he placed down some the rest of them and begin to nose run through the gold.

The creature know snarled and scoffed and sniff many pieces of the jewelry before It found a golden ring that was much too large to fit around a finger so instead it wore the ring around one it's long horns it fit almost like a glove satisfied with what he had done he continued to nose till it find a ring of identical shape and size it placed its on the other horn.

I didn't move a muscle just was in shock. why was I still alive why did this creature have such a specific taste for gold and jewelry why couldn't I leave this clearing.

All of these questions they bounced around in my head I haven't even noticed a creature walk back up to me had a bunch of apples.

I shot back and the creature with all the confidence in the world kept right on and only closed gap.
