17 Beware of the Underworld Government

"Yes, I told you already, this is the new base. Shut up now." said that one soldier from two weeks ago. That very day, he decided to become a double agent.

Along with him walked two figures in regular clothing, but their faces were full of caution and distrust towards the man.

In the dark of the night, they all entered a bakery near the centre of the city. The place had just closed and still had the smell of fresh bread.

"Hello there, lovely spies." a happy sounding voice said from the darkness of the backrooms of the place.

Both of them got grabbed from behind, thrown to the ground, and had a big piece of cloth stuffed into their mouths, preventing them from using bomb teeth like others of their kind used two weeks ago. The captured started to wiggle and scream, but it was all useless because they were held down by two people each.

Slowly lighting the oil lamp in his hand, the colorful clown walked to see his subordinates holding down two rats right before him. Other soldiers crawled from the floorboards, ran in from the outside, dug themselves out of the walls, and then arranged themselves in a line awaiting new orders. They all had a circle with a dark blue crescent moon symbol on their chests and half-masks on their faces.

"Thank you for your cooperation, Lenny. You will be rewarded later."

A quick nod and now double-agent Lenny for Ballywood Kingdom left the building.

"You know why I, Donald McRonald, became a clown?" said the adjutant slowly as he took torture devices from his bag.

Tears were seen in the eyes of the restricted people as they shook their heads violently from side to side.

"This bakery opens at 8. We have a whole 7 hours to figure this out, and why did you think spying on King was a good idea! I'm Lovin' It!"

King POV

Seeing the number of letters I have on my hands now, it was a success.

Germa 66 invitation? It sounds lame. I mean, if you decide to put numbers in your name, at least pick cool numbers, like 69, 100 or 77.

That's just a stack of money with "Joker" written on it. Thanks, I guess. Charitable guy "Joker", noted.

Dr. Doom, Dexter, Jimmy Neutron, Dr. Doofenshmerz...

Where is one from the World Government? It's the one I need as I remember. Maybe I got a bad memory? Nope, still remember all the perfect stun-lock combos from Love Punch.

*Too-too-too-too-toooooom!*

God damn, this is loud. What now?

Well, it's just a couple people outside. Not that bad. I hope they don't notice me looking at them through the window. I should come down.

I love being able to breath properly after coming down a set of stairs. Maybe I'll go for a run later.

"Ehm, hello?" I said as I opened the double doors of this mansion.

"Honor to see you, King. Let's go straight to business, shall we?" said the tall, dark-skinned woman in front with a little smile. I have no clue why she is wearing a fancy dress in the middle of the day.

Great idea. I'm not the best at small talk.

"Fine."

"I'm Eira, and I'm in charge of CP4 in all of West Blue. We saw what you did at the Fair of Progression, and the World Government really wants King to work for them in the forseeable future. You will be compensated generously."

"Uh-Huh."

"Ugh....I heard from our friend that you would really like to work with Vegapunk. Is that right?"

I hate uncomfortable pauses. Let's finish this up.

"Yes. When can I do that?"

She is panicking a little bit. I'm sorry.

"I know it's in Grand Line. You want to depart right this moment?"

Maybe I do.... Maybe go for a lunch of noodles first. I also want to finish up the third act of my script. Hmmm. So the day after tomorrow? This place rarely got annoying people, or maybe I just don't go out nearly as much.

"I'm sorry! I will notice Dr. Vegapunk as fast as possible." She did a little bow and went away with quick strides, people that came with her followed her, running.

Huh? I stared at her. My bad habit shows. I always do something dumb.

I guess I need to prepare my stuff.

-------------------------------------------------------

The most famous person in West Blue. An unbeatable fighter, a genius scientist, a leader and an inspiration for generations to come. It is said that his every step destroys islands, eyes shoot lasers; and his King Engine is what makes waves in the sea.

KING.

The Island of Los Angels was blessed with his presence, but now he is leaving. Pirates feared the place like it was Marineford itself.

And now he walks to the port with his team, The Grey Guard, a fearsome miracle of science and dedication.

King POV

Why can't I just leave like a normal person? Why is it necessary to be flashy?

I don't need a parade for this! Surely thrity-three overgrown giants are scaring anyone trying to approach me, but they scare me as well. They even took my stuff to carry instead of me. I feel like a baby.

I heard they gave me a "West Dakota"-class warship. I don't have a clue what that means.

More unnecessary things. What is this, like half a thousand more soldiers to see me off? Stop that.

*Sign*

Wing flaps? Oh, that big bird is here.

*Boom*

That's quite a way to greet someone, Ham Burger came down from the bird. Why did he have a saddle and I had to grip for my life? It is unfair.

"My side of a deal is done here, King." said Burger.

Thank god. I don't need anything more. I feel guilty taking it all for free.

"Uh thanks."

Nailed it.

The new ship looks amazing. It's bigger, for sure. More room to breathe is always a good thing. Half of it is metal, hope it's not too slow. "Grey Guard" always just row as they did last time without being as strong as now they are. Never saw them actually do it though.

As I walked to the ship, I heard a faint voice say: "Beware of the Underworld Government."

Familiar voice. In the direction from where I heard it, there were only lines of soldiers. Honestly, I don't care that much. I can't wait to go to my home with the help of Vegapunk.

Damn it's tall. People on the ground seem like ants. Ham Burger waved. Thank you for everything. I waved back.

Joe looks angry. He looks at me with the face of a monster. Creepy. Turn away.

*RUMBLE*

Don't look at me like that, people. I don't control it at all (maybe a little).

Water started to bubble up and we moved from place. Is there a motor on the ship? I don't know and won't ask, they'll think I'm stupid.

I'll go find my room. Sort my stuff out.

Everything is so giant here. Doorframes are triple my size. I suppose it's good for my team of mutants.

I really want this ship to have normal chairs, otherwise I will look like a kid at dinner table.
