My Greatest Weapon

That Night After Leaving Skylar's Room

~~~~~~~~~~
"Ms. Klaw! Ms. Klaw!" A hurried voice could be heard from behind me. I turn to see Leo gasping with a red face and a sweaty forehead. It wasn't hard to see he must of been running.
"Leon, what can I do for you?" I ask in a polite manner but a trace of worry can be heard. Wouldn't it have to be important for him to have ran here? Skylar's quarters and totally seperate from the castle, let alone the servants' living quarters.
~~~~~~~~~~

A sigh of relief escapes my mouth after finally finding her.

Taking a few moments to compose myself, "Master Zachary sent me to tell you to meet him."

Ms. Klaw covered her mouth as she laughed. She then asked with a smile, "Is that all?" Although straightforward, it didn't sound rude or anything. If anything, she seemed pleased I cared so much for something so trivial as a meet up.

I nod before continuing. "King Zachary made it clear that he had official business to speak with you about. He is waiting for you in-" I pause. "In his personal quarters."

Looking at her, I see the look of shock. She quickly recovers before speaking. "It must be about me becoming his priestess." Now it's my turn to be shocked. Priestess? Priestess!? If this goes on, the entire Klaw lineage may become priests!

Not seeing or perhaps ignoring my shock, she says, "Thank you Leon. Please tell him I will be there as soon as possible. I would like to freshen up first, okay?" She smiles politely again, causing me to only be able to comply. Although she might not have the memory of royal etiquette, the air surrounding Ms. Klaw is filled with nobility. I can tell her body still remember even if she doesn't

"I will tell his majesty." I swiftly take my leave.

~~~~~~~~~~
A knock followed by by Leo's voice brings me out of my dazed state. "Your Highness, Ms. Klaw said she will be here soon. She wanted to freshen up before coming."
I lift my hand and slowly motioned for him to leave. "Thank you. That will be all. You can take you leave now and head back to your quarters." Leo quickly bows before leaving.
Sighing, I can't help but think of the past. In all my years, the Klaw children are the only ones to not treat me as just a King's Candidate. Malikai may be a nuisance but, at least he makes things interesting and Lilian. . .what am I gonna do? At least as my priestess you won't be able to leave me. . .
In an attempt to distract myself, I begin reading to reports of the day. Although issues of importance have been taken care of, it wouldn't hurt to do these too. Soon, I lose myself in my paperwork.
~~~~~~~~~~

As I step down the hall, I can't help but awe at the design. Although just a hallway, it looks like a Roman colosseum. Huge white columns lead to an arched ceiling with an intricate painting covering it. Large doors can be seen lining the hallway, each leading to seperated balconies where the dark, moon lit night can be seen.

Finding myself, I look forward to the room at the end of the wide hallway. There I see two tall doors. Must be his room. After all, I'm guessing he doesn't sleep outside.

Although the hallway can't be more than a couple hundred feet, I feel it takes an eternity to get to the doors. It's not hard to feel the absence of life in this hall. And with only moonlight lighting the way, it only increases the life which this hall is missing.

As I lift my hand to the door, I freeze when a voice is heard. "Come in." The voice seems void of emotion. I open the door to see Zachary reading a paper in his hand. His face looks serious and a cold aura surrounds him.

Noticing I wasn't speaking, Zachary looks up. He pauses before placing the document down and standing up. In the next moment, his aura completely changes. "Sorry about that. I almost forgot you were coming." His face no longer looks serious and his posture is more relaxed.

I take a moment before speaking. "If what you're doing is important, I can always wait or head ba-"

I'm interupted, "No need, it was just a small disagreement between some mages. Come, sit down." He points towards a cushioned bench pressed against the wall.

I happily take the seat before looking back towards him. "So, what do you need from me?"

In a somewhat indifferent tone, he says, "I just wanted to tell you that tomorrow I will announce that I will be taking you in as my priestess. In the following days, you will have to start your priestess training."

"Huh?" Priestess training? Sounds boring.

Zachary's lips curl into an evil grin. "Of course. As a priestess, you must be fit to protect me and Cloud Nation. Plus, you must learn to control your affinities." His words seem coated with mockery.

Curious, I ask, "Do you not think I can do it?" I can feel my teeth grinding as he mocks me.

Now with an indifferent expression, "No, I'm just gonna enjoy watching you turn into my greatest weapon." Although his expression show nothing, his eyes are ablaze with excitment.

Hello again! Just wanted to tell you guys to have a great weekend.
