The sun peaked over a thick forest of tall trees. A forest which was in a state of complete peace and tranquility. Only the small sounds of animals could be heard like the songs of birds and the murmur of small creatures. A perfect place for one to attune themselves to nature.

Light from the sky brightened an opening in the forest where a boy was meditating.

He had tall messy purple hair. His skin was a dark brown with a smooth texture with the benefits of youth that made it faultless. His eyes were a dark purple that matched his hair. He had a sharp chin and thin cheeks with small lips. His overall body was a bit toned as if he had dedicated time and effort to training his body.

The boy wore a sleeveless t-shirt that was almond brown along with a dark green pants that  reached his ankles. It seemed as if he had one piece to his usual outfit he was missing which he had removed for this occasion. Overall his look gave the idea of an inverse sprouting tree. Something growing down farther into the earth to find strength from within the world instead of outside it.

The boy had his legs crossed and his hands were lightly grasping a long wooden stick allowing it to rest in his lap. His eyes were gently closed along with the rest of his face giving off a calm energy.

Moments later he opened his eyes and gave a deep sigh "im not getting why" he whined. He inspected the stick by holding it up to eye level and turning it around and inspecting every side.

After coming to a conclusion he gets a disappointed look on his face. He puts the stick in his pocket and stood up.

He stretches his arms and legs before taking off his shirt. "Not going to make the mistake of leaving this on again."

Two purple dots appeared on his back which soon spread across his back but never touching each other. Once there was two giant splurges of purple on his back the colored spots started to grow out into bird limbs which started producing feathers eventually creating purple wings on the kid's back.

He flapped his wings and jumped into the air. For a moment he was falling before the movement of his wings kept him in the air. Right after that he rose into the air and flew above the trees and went so high he could see far and wide.

The wind in his face made him smile. Looking down he could see different creatures roaming the forest like rainbow colored wolves with spikes across their back and a serpent with three heads with the middle being a different color from the rest.

He kept watching the ground until his eyes came across a stone town with multiple buildings. Some of the  buildings were small square structures seemingly only fit for housing a few individuals while others were multi-story structures meant to house large families. Along with the houses there were special buildings like windmills or stores that were all selectively put into the specific areas where they would best fit. Windmills at the outskirts of towns and stores at the center.

The village wasn't arranged in a specific way where it  had to circle around or where it would be easy to access any part of the village. Rather it was a scattered assortment of buildings which while all having to be a certain distance away from each other but did not have to abide by any strict rules.

The kid slowly floated down to a tall long rectangular building that was green. It looked new but rough and sturdy.

Outside the building was a sign that read "here lives snake eye's founder Slyena."

After landing the wings on the boy's back began to revert. The feathers were shed off and the two back limbs de-sprouted from his back. The coloring on his back was then changed to match his regular skin tone.

He walked up to two large green doors that had dragons with red eyes engraved around the edges biting each others tails. The child proceeded to twist a golden knob and push open the door. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him. Inside he could see a living room and a kitchen along with wooden stairs leading up to the next floor.

The house had a green stone interior with the walls having a number of engravings into them such as multi-headed snakes and red eyed dragons. An egg shaped chandelier was hanging from the ceiling filled with colorful transparent gems giving off  a dazzling rainbow of lights lighting up the room.

The living room was to the boy's left and had an assortment of red chairs and couches with a glass table in the middle. While the kitchen, which someone was in, had a stone slab covering the floor and along with the usual stove and sink had cabinets engraved with a scale like pattern.

At the black stove was a blue skinned woman with a red dress. She had long black hair that was straight and went down behind her back. Her dress was a simple fabric that covered her whole body and was obviously a bit baggy giving a lot of comfort room.

From the kitchen a soft feminine voice spoke "Ao dinner is almost ready."

There was a black round table in the middle of the kitchen with a red marble in the middle with many white lines outlining a snake swirling into the middle with its head being in the center and it's eye being the red marble.

He sat down at one of the eight black chairs surrounding the table. A white word materialised at the back of it spelling out Ao.

While Ao was waiting he reached to the center of the table and moved the red marble closer to him and the whole snake marking recoiled and moved with the red marble with the head sliding along with the eye.

"I didn't do well in my training today."

The woman turned around and looked at Ao. Her face was slim and soft with green eyes. She smiled at him.

She walked over to Ao and sat on the chair directly across from him and said "when you advance fast you will eventually reach a barrier because getting better just gets more difficult." The word Slyena appeared on the back of her chair.

Ao played around with the red marble some more before finally stopping and saying "I guess so."

The door opened up and a dark skinned man with spiky purple hair walked in. He was very muscular and was wearing a simple white T-shirt with black pants along with some sandals.

"Son, how are you doing, good I hope" he asked while carrying a large red furred boar with black horns. The animal was at least 3 times his size.

"I failed in my training" Ao slumped over the table and laid his head down sideways.

The father gave a little laugh "that kin stuff was always so complex and annoying. Thats why I rely on my muscle."

Ao turned his head to the man "My kin is what makes me cool, its my thing."

Before making movements to head to the stairs he said "isn't being my son enough."

    Ao started speaking "well I…".

The woman interjected "no being my son is."

Ao smiled and put his head up. "I love you both" he said.

His mother said "I love you more" and slide the red marble back into the middle of the table.

The dad went up stairs with the boar and the mother finished cooking the food.

Later they all came together sat down at the table and started eating tasty red meat with some yellow rice.

                            ....

Ao came in front of a tall and wide light blue building. The building was a cube made of stone with only two large doors for an entrance. It was easily the largest building in the town. Most well maintained too. In front of it was a gold sign screwed onto the wall that said "enlightenment library". Clearly a structure held in high regard to at least the leaders of the town.

Ao walked through two giant white doors that had trees engraved into them with white snakes sprawling and hanging from the branches.

When Ao came in he saw a gorgeous interior with white book cases that went up to the ceiling and books of a variety of categories all organized neatly and carefully among the rows.

Close to the doors was a really old dark skin man with a triangular long rainbow beard and blue hair that's fuzzy and messy. He wore a simple T-shirt that was red at the top, yellow in the middle and blue at the bottom. His pants were light blue and complimented his shirt.

The man looked at Ao with his golden eyes and said in a joyful voice "Oh… the prodigy… what can I do for you?"

Ao walked up to the counter and said "I'm looking for a book on kin endowing or is the right word enchanting?"

The old man slapped his hands on the desk and a bit of glitter sprayed into the air. "I know the exact book you need, I may be old but I do like to keep up with my arts."

The old man got a cup of water from behind the counter and put it on the counter. Then his finger glowed brightly as if it was a miniature star and he dunked his finger into the water. The light moved from his finger into the water and the water then started glowing as if it was some magical liquid.

The man then said "that's what you want to do right?"

Ao smiled and shook his head and said "definitely, how did you do that?"

The man simply said "well the more fluid the substance the easier to put your kin energy into it."

Ao leaned in closer with a big smile "really?"

The book keeper replied "yea, kin energy also transfers well from fluid to solid or fluid to gas although there are a lot more complexities to it so I suggest you read …" the keeper pointed to the general direction of the books and a beam of light bended and twisted and landed in some far away aisle "that book over there".

Ao hurried over to where the beam of light landed and found a book called "world art: endowment". He took it off the shelves and went back to the front desk.

Ao happily announced "found it" and then gracefully said "thank you, Ogya."

Ogya smiled and then said "I am glad you found what you were looking for but could you help explain something to this little girl."

Ao looked down to see a really small red headed girl with an all pink dress and little slippers. She seemed more like a hyper realistic cutesy doll than an actual person.

Ao went up to her and asked "what could I help you with?"

She responded with "oh well ummm… what is kin and why do I have it?"

Ao carefully responded the best way he could "kin is the type of energy your body has learned to produce from being in the environment it's in and it basically allows you to do awesome things based on what type it is."

She put her hand on her head and then said "oh, I get it." She then walked out in a little trot that was adorable.

Ao put the book on the counter and said "I'm checking this out."

Ogya sighed "you know your mom literally runs this town, the rules don't apply to you."

Ao smiled, "I need to set an example."

The book keeper went through the process of registering a book being signed out all while saying "man your different from me, if I was your age I would be using my privileges to have as much fun as possible."

        "I am having fun."

       Ogya smirked, "good."

Ogya handed his book and then said "wait". He went to the back and there was some rummaging and then a flash of light that was quickly diminished. He then came out and gave Ao a small bag filled to the brim with some kind of small object.

Ao took the bag and looked inside "oh it's a bunch of nuts."

Ogya added "endowed with kin energy so when they break light will show."

          Ao smiled "you're really great."

Ao left the library already better off than when he came.

                             •••

Ao was walking along a road leading up to a statue that was the center of the town. The statue was a globe that looked like a planet with a bunch of serpents entangled on and around it. The statue had a large round stone slab as its base.

Around the statue were five kids. There seemed to be 4 boys and 1 girl.

Ao went up to them and said "hey guys look at what I got…" he raised the book high over his head.

A boy a good bit taller than Ao with well combed red hair that was rounded at the front looked at the book then crossed his arms and looked away and scuffed.

Ao lowered the book and put it to his side and said "Fi don't spoil the mood."

Fi was tall for his age dark-skinned red-headed boy who wore a golden shirt and orange pants and pointed golden shoes. He also had a special ring that was one-third orange and then yellow and then red on his pointer finger.

Fi responded with "world arts is a wasteful and insufficient teaching and time learning it could be better spent learning adapt art."

There was a dark green-haired girl sitting beside another guy who she was apparently engaged in some form of card game with. She looked away from the card game and got up and walked straight to Fi to say  "Fi out of the two you are definitely the less skilled one in your kin so stop acting superior."

Fi shrugged and said "Debatable anyway Es I didn't mean anything about it, just thought he could be doing something better with his talent."

Es glared "next time keep it to yourself."

Es was a girl that was a little shorter than Ao with short green hair that dangled on all sides. Her skin was a bit lighter than the rest but she was dark-skinned nonetheless. She wore a sleeveless yellow shirt under a white coat. Her pants and shoes matched her coat. She had a white metal band on her head that was very slim.

Ao started with "so I am learning my 8th skill which can get me recognized as an adept user of the teaching."

Es smiled and patted Ao on the back "that means you can become an agent."

Fi looked at Ao "Impressive but don't think you can become an agent before me."

Ao chuckled "I'll wait till you become one if you care about something so petty."

Fi's eyes popped wide open "I'm… how… ahhh."

A voice from behind Es spoke, "Hey you guys want some snacks."

Ao looked over to a brown-haired dark skin boy sitting on the statue's base eating blue round balls that made a squishing sound when bitten into.

"Os" Ao said "sure, do you got the red ones?"

Os went into a nearby sack and pulled out a brown gourd that had markings of monkeys on the pot dancing. He laid the open gourd out beside him and said "here, the magic word is popsy."

As soon as the word popsy was said a red ball popped out the gourd into the direction of Os who caught it with his mouth and munched on it.

Ao just kept uttering "popsy popsy popsy popsy" as he said that the balls just kept launching at him and everyone was caught and quickly thrown into his mouth.

Es scrunched up her face "one at a time."

Os smiled and put a mouthful of weirdly shaped fruits and veggies into his mouth before munching down on all of it.

Os was slim despite his eating habits. His hair was well combed. In fact it was separate down the middle with either side combed to go the opposite direction of the other side. He wore a simple black t-shirt and pants although the number 2 was written on the back of his shirt along with being on each of his knees. He wore black sandals. Os just kept sitting back and eating.

"Can we get back to our game?" Said a blue-haired boy with blue eyes. His hair was braided in several rows all throughout his head. He wore a simple purple hoodie with a pink t-shirt underneath. His pants were red and his shoes pink.

Es looked back "Ok Ro I'm coming back." She walked over to the base and sat down. She started moving cards that seemed to have different elements depicted on them.

Fi went over to a kid with messy black hair and yellow eyes. A kid was lying at the base and staring at the globe. Fi spoke "you haven't said anything in awhile ki, what are you thinking about?"

Ki had a long-sleeved shirt that was black with white lines crossing through the shirt in each and every direction. His black pants followed the pattern. He wore sandals.

Ki looked at Fi and said, "I was just thinking how much I wanna explore the world."

Fi said, "well when we become agents then we may be sent on missions, high tiers even get sent to the other continent."

Ki groaned a little "but when?"

"Pretty soon if you work a little harder."

Ki slumped  "the path to fulfillment is sharp and course."

    "Worth it though."

As they were talking Ao had finally filled his stomach with the red balls. He smiled and gave two thumbs up to Os. "It's good having friends like you."

The book fell to the ground and Ao quickly snatched it back up. Then he looked up at the statue and launched himself upwards over the statue then landed right on it. He crossed his legs and began reading.

Hello, devoted practitioner of the world art. It is a pleasure to be of use. This book focuses on infusing objects and the world around you with the purest form of your kin before activating it. Please note you must be well versed in not only the basics of kin but the higher techniques of both sensing and triggering external energy…

In the middle of his reading a large bell noise sounded. It was a screeching noise that rattled the ear drums and caused pain to the brain.

Ao closed the book and stood up and shouted. "That's the alarm, it rings louder the more dangerous the threat is!"

As the words left his mouth he could hear the crushing of a building and see a pile of dust being puffed into the air.

Ao's mouth was wide open and  his eyelids peeled all the way back "Guys we gotta run."

Fi snorted "Coward, I'm not gonna let anything hurt anyone here so show me the threat."

Ao composed himself and closed his mouth and slightly lowered back his eyes for a sec before noticing something and opening both wider then even before "EVERYONE BRACE YOURSELF ITS COMING!"

Ao could see a giant beast charging down the road. It was several times the size of a man and had horns that could skewer a house that were currently pointed straight at the band of kids.  The beast's head looked like a mixture between a ram and a wolf. Its body was like a mammoth and its neck made up a third of its length.

Es shouted "everyone get around me."

Ao jumped down and landed right next to the girl standing tall. She was frowning slightly and sweating and her face was a bit scrunched up. Ao grabbed her shaking hand and then Ro grabbed the other. Fi and ki grabbed each other's hand before Fi grabbed Ao's at the same time Os started to hold Ro's hand.

As they all got together the giant monster was just there. A comparatively small distance away from them. The gap between them was negligible at best. It already had it's horns directed at the kids before taking the few steps it would need to take before attempting to massacre this band of friends.

     It got closer then…
