39 Shin Dies

"Ok, this is going to hurt," and then he showed Shin, in excruciating detail, how he might survive a strike from a sword as big as he was.

"This is not the best day," Shin said.

The sword was going to hit him. It was too big to block or dodge.

"Can we ramp our thinking speed to the point that this moment lasts forever?  Like a graph approaching infinity, but it is bound between 0 and 1?" Shin asked.

"Hardly seems productive.  I showed you how to survive.  It isn't pretty, but it gives us a chance," Shinja said.  It was risky, pure and simple. The math was solid though, and survival was the only option.

"Here we go, I guess," Shin said.  His eyes blazed blue as he shifted into real time.  He was already running with an exaggerated forward lean, to avoid the spike cannon earlier, but it limited his options now.
