86 Chapter 82: Attempt

The day of the king's visitation is fast approaching. Everyone became absorbed in the preparations. Everyone is cleaning, practicing an entertainment number, polishing every corner, and just making every area shiny.

While that is true for everyone, not to me.

The king's visitation connotes my only chance of finishing the Chief. I have to succeed that day.

"You're going to use the emergency stairs to get out of the institution," Virginia explained as she showed me the emergency door at the end of the corridor, which is locked.

"No one really guards the stairs. And since every guard will flock to the venue where the king is, we'll have fewer guards to worry about."

I nodded and made a mental note of everything.

"What are you doing?"

Ronda, Virginia, and I immediately stopped our paces. Out of nervousness, Ronda pulled some strands of her curly hair down over and over again, as she always does when she's nervous.
