4 The wheels are turning

Lone. A state of having no companions and stuck in solidarity. We can not function alone. We need someone to be there. Someone to share our emotions with. Someone to be there during the happiness. Someone to listen and console during the sadness. And someone to put up in times of anger. Companions are like drugs. Companions help alleviate the boredom of our existence. Make us feel less empty. Humanity is an empty existence after all. You are born alone. You die alone. You suffer alone.

High school was different. Lone didn't exist. Everyone had a group...no...a clique. Brought together by common interest or characteristics or even circumstance. Cliques were everywhere and spread rapidly like a rash. Within a week every one had a place where they belonged. You had the popular kids, the athletic kids, the nerdy kids and even the wall flowers who acted like they were loners but they were not. They interacted with each other even though it was occasional. I was also part of a clique as well. Brought together by circumstances created by our either society or ourselves. We looked as if we were so different yet so similar it was scary. Together we tried to get through high school.

Our clique was founded by Madison. Madison the enthusiastic chick with the freckles and always smiling. Her smile had superpowers. The power to attract various weird fucks in one room. Anyway through Madison I met Cassius. Cassius was a freakishly tall dude, at least 6 ft 6 with blond curly hair in the style of a buzz cut( obviously dyed), black eyes and a piercingly white smile. He was somewhat attractive I must say. Probably because he stayed in shape. He made it a point to go to the gym 4 times a week to attract the ladies. Cassius was a sophomore whereas Madison and I were freshmen. One thing about Cassius was that he was always out of it. His mind seemed to wonder somewhere else. Thanks to his travelling mind we always had interesting conversations.

Our clique sat in the cafeteria. We engaged in a rather peculiar conversation

"Yo, who would win, Peter Parker or Peter Pan" ask Cassius

"Obviously Peter" joked Madison

"That doesn't really answer the question" I joked back

"For real though. Who?" Cassius quizzed back at us

"To be honest, I think Parker....I mean Parker has spider webs and stuff. Pan has a green gimp suit and what are those shoes. Like the man lacks clout" I responded

"Dude---your sleeping on Pan," Madison said earnestly, "Look Pan is like a fairy due. His already above Parker, like Parker has superpowers, but, Pan's got mystical powers. And Pan my lack clout but he gets all the bitches...like Parker got his broke his girls back...thats some reverse step-on-a-crack-y'all-break-your-mothers-back type shit."

"Yeah but Pan's incompetent. He being fighting the same crusty ass dude for years."

"At least he keeps his promises. Parker said he'll protect Gwen. That never happened"

"Ah promises" Cassius said out of nowhere

"Not another Cassius monologue" me and Madison said in unison

"Fuck you guys. When your my age your going to wish you were this woke" We rolled our eyes and prepped ourselves for the monologue

"Promises" he restarted his monologue, "are difficult to keep but easy to make. Ask my dad he said hell stay with my mom through the tough but they're divorced. People promise to easily. People trust to easily as well. Im a victim of that. I wish I was more cold hearted. That way I would only invite you guys to my house this Saturday. But worry not my lonely souls for you shall be bless by your God Cassius with a party at chateau du Cassius. Be there or be forever alone in your bedroom jacking off to pixelated pictures."

"WOOHOO time to get fucked!" Madison rejoiced

"Yeah" I said unenthusiastically

That was how I got invited to my first ever high school party.
