41 Velocious

AMY'S POV

I woke up with a light feeling and a burst of energy. It must be because I had a good long rest last night. It's great since it was really backbreaking, everything that happened drained me out of life, and I was even supposed to be dead if Dewdrop didn't sympathize with me.

After a few minutes of contemplating, I heard the maids whispering outside the door, then they entered with breakfast prepared on a trolly.

"Good morning, Miss Amy," Lulu greeted with a cheerful smile as she put down the tray of tea on the table, followed by Lili and Lala.

Based on how they act without the blabbering and worry painted on their face, I guess Regin didn't tell them what happened.

"I heard something happened last night in the Delta Kingdom, Miss. Do you know who got into the fight?" Lala asked as she unfolds a dress from a box.

"No," I shook my head as I peek to see who sent the dress when Lulu served me breakfast and noticed my curiosity.

"It's from Prince Forest," Lulu answered, "It's a gift for you as a compensation for not attending the meetings."

I got a mixed feeling about hearing his name, happiness and anger suddenly arose from the dawn.

I know he is sorry for not being able to see me, but I have this pinch of worry that he may be doing this to make it look like he's not hiding anything from me.

If I didn't know who my father is, I would be jumping in happiness because he gave me a gift.

"I see," I forced a smile then I continued to dig in.

Granny and Regin arrived not long after I finished getting dressed. I didn't wear the gift Prince Forest gave since it is making me feel uncomfortable for some reason because of my suspicions about him.

"Ladies, please leave us for a moment," Granny said as he walks towards me with her eyes fixated on mine.

The maids left, without any questions, and closed the door tight.

Regin was standing beside Granny, and after a short silence, Granny spoke.

"Miss Amy, I heard what happened last night. We decided to keep the incident amongst us and don't worry, no one else knew it was you. However, we have to be careful. We must keep you safe at all cost," she sighed then she turned to Regin who nodded in agreement to what she was about to say.

Granny looked as if she doesn't want to say what she has to say, but the worry and fear were all over her face.

"We decided to keep you here until we're sure that you're safe," she said.

My forehead creased as a wave of splashing anger came to me. I can't believe they're going to lock me here again. After they hid the reality that I can go out, they're going to take back my freedom once again.

I know they're worried, I know they only want my safety. But after all that happened, this is not what I need.

"No, I will not stay still in this mansion. I am not a prisoner," I said under my breath while clenching my fist, "I will do what I want, I will go out where I want. You don't have the right to lock me here."

Granny shook her head in disappointment, while Regin just stares at me with a blank face. He knew this is what I will say, but still, they choose to go with this decision.

I bit my lip and I took the cloak I was about to wear earlier and I rushed to the door.

But Regin's roaring voice made me paused before I can even hold the doorknob.

"If you step out of your room, you will be disqualified."

Disqualified, huh?

Do I even care about this bride game? No.

Do I even want to be his bride? A bride of a prince who's hiding the reality from me. A prince who's making me look stupid about my identity.

What I have to do right now is find out who my parents are. Who I am and what I am.

But I can't just blurt out that I knew who my father is to these people. I don't know what's on their minds right now. I don't even know if I can trust them.

"Then, disqualify me," I murmured and I opened the door and ran.

Right now, Aiven's who I need. I know I can trust that annoying prick, and he'll help me.

"Where are you going? Come back here!" I heard Granny yelled, but I didn't bother looking back.

I ran as fast as I can to Aiven's house, I lost track of time from thinking about what happened last night, and I found myself catching my breath in front of the mansion.

"Miss Amy," the guard greeted with surprise as he opens the gate, "Good morning."

I smiled at him as I entered the Untzer residence, "Is Aiven awake?"

"Yes, he is, Miss. I saw him walking in the garden earlier. But it is best if you ask Justif."

I nodded as excitement pumped through my veins, I can get to see the kids and Justif again.

Those little ears and tails, their tiny voices and their laughs, I miss them.

Maids greeted me as I enter the mansion, and there was Justif, walking to me with a smile on his face.

"Good morning, Miss Amy. What brings you here this early?"

"I want to see Aiven, I have an urgent matter to discuss with him," I said as I hopped upstairs to his office.

Nobody seemed to care that I was going my way, even Justif who was just following me, it's as if I am really at home.

"Is he here?" I asked Justif as I knock on Aiven's office, then I heard his hoarse voice telling me to go in.

"I told you to not disturbed me," he said without even looking at me, "I am busy-- Oh, you're here?" His irritated voice turned to a soft shocked tone.

He looked at Justif, who closed the door behind me.

His face looked tired, and sleepless. His eye bags were as if someone brushed charcoals on them.

"Are you busy?" I asked as I sat on the couch.

"Yes, but it does concern you." He looked at me, then he took a paper from his rambled desk, and showed it to me. "I never thought about searching for your document in the kingdom since they said you're a human, which means you don't have any papers in this world, but guess what?"

I took the paper and read it, "A birth certificate? Did you search for this the whole night?" I turned my head to Aiven who was nodding slowly.

"Read everything. And I'll explain the other matters later."

I creased my brow as I read each information written. I can't believe he didn't sleep just for me, but as I was reading the texts, my name was the one that surprised me first.

"Amelia Pyriane Sunneiare Snow. What?" I scoffed in disbelief, I have a long name. What will I do with three names?

"Daughter of Atticus Hast Snow and Tana Marie Lily Snow," I continued, then my hand started shaking in the realization that I just read my parents' names.

I didn't have any memory of hearing their names, nor remembering their faces. The only thing left in me was the thought that they left me.

"I have a lot of information about your father, Amy. Sir Atticus was born in the Gathrin Kingdom, as for your mother, she only became a resident because she got married to your father. There is no information about her."

Aiven gave me a folder full of papers about incidents that happened in the kingdom, and it has my mother's name on it.

"These are the incidents filed by your father. These are all about the fire that happened in your house when you were still living here. It said that your mother wasn't able to control her powers in some cases which resulted in the burning of appliances in your house."

I looked at Aiven and I can't help but laugh. Mother wasn't able to control her powers and almost burned the house? Wow, I can't believe she's clumsy.

"Amy, what I'm trying to say is that you have fire powers."

Aiven, on the other hand, wasn't amused by mother's clumsiness, but by the power she has which means I too, should have.

"Unfortunately, I can't use both powers, Aiven. I can't run fast, I can't burn things."

I shrugged my shoulders as I read more information about me.

It says I was born at 6:09 P.M. and I weigh 3.6 kg.

"What do you mean you can't?" Aiven took the paper from my hand and he shot me a glare, "Stand up and run here. I'll tell you if you're fast, or you're not."

I raised my brow at him and I rolled my eyes, "I'm telling you, I don't have powers."

I groaned as I stand up since he doesn't seem to care about what I say and he's just waiting for me to show that I am but a powerless person.

"Alright, just run as fast as you can." He instructed, then I positioned myself as if I am on a marathon, "Go," he said and I started running on the highest speed my feet can do.

Every movement of my muscles can be felt from the action I was performing, every bone can feel the pressure, and my skin felt the wind brushing against it.

And after a few seconds, Aiven told me to stop.

"You can't see how fast you are?" He asked with wide eyes, "You can't see that?" He asked once again, but now his face is lighting up with glee.

"No," I shook my head as I take a deep breath, "I was just running," I said as I try to remember every detail I saw while I was running.

"You..." he cackled, and with his look of exhaustion, he looks like a mad scientist who just found out a miracle knowledge that he's been searching for, "You're fast. No, fast doesn't fit your speed. You were... like a bat out of hell. You're velocious, Amy."

Aiven was at his end, he was screaming and laughing with excitement, while I was just staring at him with disbelief.

I am fast? I never thought about my speed before, and I never imagined I was running that fast. All I know was I was running, and that's all.

"Now, let's try your firepower," he exclaimed with excitement, now he looks like he lost it.

"I don't have fire powers, Aiven. And you need to rest," I said as I try to make him sit down to rest, but he held my shoulders and stared at me with seriousness boiling in his blood.

"We have to know." He mumbled, and then, I found myself with my hands leveled in my chest and palms opened, trying to produce some fire.

"I can't do it," I said with a flat tone. I look stupid with this position.

"Just focus," he said. This is the fifth time he said those words to me, but it never helped.

I just rolled my eyes, and like a fire bender, or a super saiyan, I tried to focus myself on my hand.

Fire, fire, fire, fire...

I kept calling those hellish hot flames, but I never saw not even a flicker on my hand.

"I can't, Aiven," I said, and I proceeded to sit down or else he'll just continue telling me to focus.

He sighed, and his body lied on the couch, "Well, guess you didn't get your Mother's power."

"But, I dreamt I have fire powers, Aiven. I was young and I was in a place I have never been to," I looked at Aiven who was listening to me with his close, "And when I looked in the lake of truth when Prince Marin was helping me, I saw my hair colored with flames' tone. It was reddish with a hint of orange and yellow."

Aiven nodded, and with his eyes still closed, he murmured, "They might've contained your powers if that's the case." He said, and after a few seconds, he sat down and stared at me, "Maybe that's why they're trying to take you. Because of your powers."

I tilted my head in confusion, why would they take me if I can't even use my powers?

Aiven pointed at me and with a flat tone, and a strict voice, he said, "Red hair doesn't suit you, you already look like trash and that color will worsen your appearance," he said.

And without any words, I threw him the throw pillows beside me. I can't believe he still has the energy to piss me off.

"Anyway, we'll look into this some other time. Aren't you suppose to be training for the next trial? It's a hunting test, isn't?"

I nodded, then I let out a deeply disappointed sigh, "I kind of got disqualified."

Aiven wrinkled his nose, "How? Yesterday, the Prince was worried sick about you, and now you're disqualified?"

I snorted when I heard that Prince Forest was worried sick. Yeah, he even killed the one thing that could've helped me know who ordered to take me. He killed the caster that was supposed to give me answers.

"Regin said I have to stay in the mansion, and if I go out, I'll be disqualified, but here I am. In front of the man, I despise the most."

I teased Aiven and beamed him a grin, while he just sighed and stood up.

"Well, you can just make a reason why you're here, and by the way," he turned around as he was about to go back to his desk, "Do you want me to teach you how to use the bow and arrow, the Foxtrot Style?"

I looked at him with wonder, I don't even know what the foxtrot style is, and I have never used the bow and arrow.

"It's a technique I learned while I was engaging with folks from the foxtrot kingdom, and since you have your father's power, I guess this is easy for you."

And when he continued to describe what he was about to teach me, I already knew what excuse I can use when I go back to the mansion. I know it won't be easy to persuade Regin, but I know Granny will help me.

Even though they're saying that I'll be disqualified, they don't really want me to lose.
