4 Misunderstanding

"Miss, please, wake up. The Doctor will be here any minute." I heard Lili call as she shakes me softly.

Doctor? Is it the same one last night?

I opened my eyes and saw the three maids around me while Regin and Granny are waiting by the door.

I sit down and groaned, I still feel sick, or maybe even worse!

"Here's water, please drink it." Lala smiled at me.

I took a few sips then I saw a tall man with long blond hair walking towards me. His stethoscope and white gown say that he's the doctor, but what caught me was a band on his left sleeve that is bright red with an insignia of an eagle, or more like a phoenix.

"I'm glad you're awake, it will make my job much easier!" The doctor said and proceeded to check my heartbeat, which caught me off guard. I jolted the moment he put the stethoscope near me.

I just woke up and he'll check me up without even introducing himself? Is this how they do check-ups here?

"How disgraceful, Doctor," Granny noted as she shakes her head, "At least introduce yourself and what you're about to do."

The doctor seemed annoyed by the remark and raised his eyebrow at Granny, "Isn't it obvious? I'm a doctor!" He exclaimed while raising his white gown forward to me. Then he groaned, "Whatever, I'll get this over with."

After checking me up, he wrote things on a white pad and gave Granny the page, "Make her drink these, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. This medicine is for her allergy, this one will be her vitamins to make her get used to our environment. Once she's better, call me again."

He stood up and left without even saying anything. I kind of feel like I am a burden to him with how he reacted earlier.

"I'm sorry about that," Regin sighed, "He's not a people person, and he's a private doctor. He should only be checking a single person's health, but the Prince made him go here."

"Prince?" I asked while trying to see what is written on the paper the doctor gave Granny.

"Yes, he is the Prince's personal doctor." Regin answered then took the paper from Granny and went towards the door, "I'll go get these for the Miss. Better stay here and keep her company." He closed the door softly and I'm left with Granny and the maids.

"So..." I got up and stretched my arms, "Why is the Prince's doctor checking me? Is this part of being a bride candidate?"

Granny sat down on a chair while the maids smiled widely at me, "No!" Lili wiggles her brows at me, "The Prince seems to have taken a liking on the Miss!"

I furrowed my brows, the Prince? Liking me? Why? From what I can remember all I did was sneeze in front of him and tell him I'm sick. Isn't it enough for him to think that I am unhealthy to be a crown Princess?

"Yeah! Yeah! Also, tomorrow, you'll have to wake up early to see the Prince!" Lala nudges me, "Every day! EVERY MORNING!" She shrieked and blinked her eyes many times as is she's daydreaming.

"Sorry, what? I thought it's a misunderstanding? Bride candidates get to see him once a week, right?"

Lulu shook her head, "The Prince never give incorrect information, Miss. And this is a good sign, the Prince is giving you his personal time, that means you are on his good side."

What? No! That is not what I was planning to do! I want to have a great time here but I don't want the Prince noticing me or anything. I want out!

"But I need to sleep! That's where I only get to meet my boyfriend!"

I hate waking up early! It's usually early in the morning that my dreams visit me of my anime boy. If I have to wake up early, that means I won't be able to see my beloved!

"Boy...friend?" Lili, Lala, and Lulu, along with Granny asked.

Don't they know what a boyfriend is? Do they skip the dating part and get married straight?

"You have a boyfriend?" Granny stands up, her face seemed worried but angry at the same time. Seems like they know what a boyfriend is though. But the way she reacted, and the maid's expression are also terrified while looking at me.

"What shall we do, Madam! Miss has someone! The Prince will get upset if he finds out about this!" Lala worriedly walks towards Granny.

"I told them to check if she has any relationship, and they said it was negative!" Granny's forehead wrinkled while looking at me.

I don't know what is happening but, why can't I get a boyfriend? Do they think I can't get one?

"Miss, who is this significant other you're telling us?" Lulu asked, while her face is twitching, she's still smiling. Woah, talk about scary.

"I have tons!" Of course, I started watching Romance Anime when I was 12, and since then, I have a long list of crushes. "But the latest one I knew was Hikaru." He's from an old anime, but still! Also, his twin, Kaoru is also one of my crushes. I blushed while thinking about them. Gosh! I want to sleep now and dream!

But the sun is still high and these people around me are staring at me like I'm a disgusting person.

"TONS?" Lala cried, "I didn't know Miss was that kind of person."

"She's beautiful, of course, a lot of men will love her. But I never thought she's like that." Lulu shakes her head disappointingly.

Wait-- they sound like they're talking about a real boyfriend. I smirked, oh, let me play with them for a while.

"Yeah, I have a lot of boyfriends. Is there any problem? You took me here without me knowing, my dears must be worried for me!" Oh, gosh, I wish they are but they're not real and they wouldn't care about me. Huhu, why am I like this?

Granny suddenly went in front of me and started from my head to toe, just like the first time we met.

"How disgusting! Having a lot of relationship won't give you a crown on your head. You should be ashamed of yourself!" She yelled and turned her back on me.

"I will tell the Prince about this, and be ready, tomorrow, you'll be sent back home." She said and started walking towards the door. I can feel her disappointment and anger with her voice.

They took this joke too far. It was their fault for assuming something unclear!

I ran to her and held her hand, but she pulls it away and stared at me sharply like I'm some sort of trash. I guess she has hidden resentment towards women who have multiple relationship.

I shook my head and stopped her, "I think we're having a misunderstanding here!" I screamed because she still walked pass me.

"What do you mean? You clearly said that you have a lot of relationships, Miss."

"No! I think we're not in the same boat. I was talking about the characters I like from the series I watched. They are fictional!" But gosh, I would do anything for them to come true! "They are just characters! I thought we were talking about my dream, I didn't know you mean REAL men."

I suddenly felt embarrassed. Is it my fault for misunderstanding? Also, yeah, I don't really have any relationship with real humans.

Granny turned to me and raised her brows, "Is that true?"

I nodded.

Of course it is! I wouldn't agree to stay here to be a bride candidate if I have someone waiting for me. I would die before I get to be someone else's bride!

I can hear the maids sigh behind me. They really took my words too far. I'm not a low woman. I won't toy with people's feelings!

"Then, please further explain this 'series' you are talking about," Granny went back to her chair and waited for me to speak, "We also want to learn more about your world, Miss."

The maids nodded and went to take a seat while I went back to bed and thought about what should I tell them first. And before we know it, it's already nighttime.

I have to wake up early tomorrow, which is why after eating dinner and drinking my medicine, I slept. I need as much time as I can give for my dreams.
