8 It's the truth!

I nodded and just went with them. I guess something's serious with this weird atmosphere.

I slowed down and pulled Regin behind while we're walking towards a dark hallway.

"What's a council?" I whispered.

"Don't worry, Miss. Just tell them the truth."

I wrinkled my brows with his answer, but I found out we were already at the end and the guards are waiting for me to enter a large glassdoor.

But there's nothing I can see behind it. It's like a dark endless room.

I looked at Regin and he just nodded. I'm sure he won't put me in a dangerous situation.

And anyway, fun isn't fun if danger isn't included, I guess?

I entered the room and a cold breeze welcomed me. And when the door closed behind me, I just realized that the glass door was painted black. It was tinted! I feel so stupid.

The room's light turned on and I saw a round table, which has an open portion in front of me.

Five old men and two old women in a white gown with golden streaks were sitting around it and a butler gestured me to enter the round table.

"Miss Amelia Snow, the 100th bride candidate from the human world, we're NOT happy to see you here." The man in the middle said with a grumpy voice.

Well, likewise! I'm not happy to see them too! The room is cold and they don't even have a chair, but of course, values, Amelia.

I smiled in reply and just listened to what they have to say.

"Miss Amelia," the old woman called, "We'll go straight to the reason why you're facing the Seven Councils."

I nodded, now I wonder why they are called the SEVEN councils? I wanted to laugh but I'll just hold it down.

"We are the ones who maintain the peace in this kingdom. As elders, we guide the royal family and its people in the right direction and WE DO NOT TOLERATE ANY DISGRACE THAT CAN BE BOUGHT TO THE KINGDOM."

Another old man with an even grumpier voice said.

I don't even have to wonder why they have a lot of wrinkles with their attitudes.

I nodded again in reply. Of course, I don't know why I'm here and don't know what I have to say, and I'll just keep on smiling and nodding until they tell me why I'm here.

"We called you here because of the gossip that's been circling around since this afternoon," Another old woman said.

"Why are you spouting another man's name in your dreams when you're clearly a bride candidate for the Prince?"

I tilted my head while wondering when did I say another man's name in my dreams? Was it during my afternoon nap? Then, someone did enter my room.

I sighed and stared at them, "Grandpas and Grandmas," I started and they all reacted with a gasp.

I then cleared my throat, "Seven Councils..."

But still, they even reacted more negatively.

The butler came running to me and whispered, "Call them 'The Great Holy Council, Miss."

I wanted to laugh with that title, great and holy? Only a god can be holy and no one is great, but well, I bowed before them.

"I apologize, The Great Holy Council," I said and the butler took a few steps back.

"May I speak for myself about this alleged gossip about me speaking another man's name when in fact, I am kidnapped and became a bride for the crown prince without my permission?"

I said without even batting an eye.

Some of the council reacted and raised their brows at me but the old man in the middle raised his hand and signaled me to continue.

"First of all, based on what happened earlier, when this gossip started, I was taking a nap alone in my room. Madam and Regin were out, and my maids were making lunch, and the stupid me forgot to lock the door," I unconciously started walking around the table like a lawyer defending herself.

"If I am right, no one should enter my room unless they are my maids or my knight, but someone did enter anyway. And when they or she or whoever that person is, entered, I was taking a nap, basically, I am sleeping, am I not?" I threw a glance at the old woman and continued.

"And when someone sleeps, isn't normal that they dream?" I stopped in the middle, turning slowly to look at them.

"And I didn't know that dreaming is prohibited here," I snorted and shrugged my shoulders.

An old man hit the table with his fist, "WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT DREAMING HERE!" He shouted and as his voice echoes, I nodded in agreement.

"Of course, we're here to talk about me talking in my dreams and calling a man's name, which is an utter disgrace for you, The Great Holy Council, isn't it?"

I wanted to kick each and every one of them about making this a big of a deal! Isn't it common knowledge that when we dream we sometimes talk or even walk?

"Then, let me tell you why I speak of this man's name in my dreams."

I wanted to annoy them so I went near the table and rested my hips on it with my back turned against a council member and I folded my arms and sighed.

"In my dreams, I was having a date with Lelouch. His beautiful eyes were enchanting, I can see its color as I look deeply in his eyes." I said sweetly while they all stood up in anger, but still, I continued my story.

"But then, the crowd panicked and I was separated from him. I called out his name, for a hundred times, but still, I can't find him amidst the hundred people, running for their lives!"

"And why are they running?"

"Because a giant lizard is coming our way, and it's smashing every building it sees!" I said with my hand gesturing the event, then I noticed who's the voice it was who asked me.

"Prince?" I asked and I saw him standing behind the council behind me.

I turned around and tried to suppress my laughter, but the way he smiled at me like I was telling a ridiculous story, I can't help but let out loud laughter.

The council told me to shut up and show respect but I just can't! His smile was really telling me that I sound stupid!

"Seven Council," the Prince called with an astounding ordering voice, "Miss Amelia is guilty of calling some other man's name, am I correct, Miss?"

I nodded while wiping the tears on my eyes from laughing too hard.

"Yes, I'm guilty 100%!" I said proudly.

The council once again was burned in rage, but the Prince's voice, which echoed around the cold room and even sent chills to my spine made them silent.

"SILENCE!" He shouted, "Miss Amelia is guilty, but what the gossip's telling us is a lie! She's not having any relationship with anyone."

My jaw fell down with what the Prince said, in a relationship? I wish! But I am not!

"What?!" I reacted and hit the table with both my palms, "Who said I'm in a relationship?" I shouted.

Well, if I get this right since I am a bride candidate, of course, it is improper if I have a boyfriend. And just like how my maid and granny reacted yesterday about me having someone, I know what I look like to the council.

The Prince looked at the butler with him and they pulled three ladies. One who has a tail like a dragon, another with long pointy finger and another who has a scale on her face, just like the one on my table.

"They started the gossip," The Prince said with a cold sharp glance over the ladies who are shivering in fear.

"They are the ones at fault in this situation, Seven Councils, why don't you give them a punishment?" The Prince turned his back after saying those words and left.

And without any questions, I was sent back to my room while the ladies stood in my position.

I was still lost in what really happened, I sat in my bed silent for the next hour until Granny, Regin and the maids came.

They watch me as I eat the sliced apple they prepared with a worried face. I heard them talking to me, but my minds lost in the clouds.

I wonder, did the Prince heard me say those words about me being kidnapped and not having my permission to be a bride candidate?

I can't help but feel guilty, what if I hurt his feelings? What if I offended him?

Argh! Why am I bothered if he is in fact hurt? It's the truth!

But what if he's really offended?

Ah! You know what? I should just finish my apples.
