PROLOGUE

"We need to leave now!" She screamed

I looked at the boy before me. I put my hand on his chest only to draw it back blood slicked. Overhead the alarms were still blaring. The narrow passage was dim as only the emergency lights were on. Between the bad lighting, wailing alarms and narrow passage, it all felt like a passageway to hell.

Maybe I am in hell

"ELLA! We need to leave now!"

"We can't leave him! He's bleeding!!!" I said frantically

"If we don't leave now, we will be killed."

"But-"

He grabbed my hand. We both stared at each other. It was a raging battle of wills with me silently begging him not to say it.

"Both of you need to leave. Now." he rasped

"I'm not leaving you. Not after everything we've been through you idiot!" I said silently crying.

"You're gonna hate me for this," he said

He gave a slight nod and suddenly I felt pain explode all over my body. I doubled over in shock but was quickly caught from behind. I was suddenly thrown onto a shoulder and I could hazily make out the object the person holding me was carrying.

A taser? Seriously?

"Get her away from here. Now." I heard a voice muttering

We started moving then I heard gunshots and a single scream.

The next thing I knew it was all black.
