The first time God answered her prayers…

Akeelah grew up knowing that there's Jesus who is the son of God. She heard that Jesus came as witness, for the world to believe and Jesus was known as the messiah. Akee went through trials. Her mother Abigail was not present in her life, the situation affected her life. Akee failed at school, she struggled to cope with other kids at school. She kept telling people her problem but nobody helped her.

She looked at herself as ugly and incomplete compared to other children. She tried telling her life skill teacher but the teacher couldn't help cause she thought the child needs attention.

Akee would cry but nobody ever empathized with her until one day she visited a Christian gathering church, where she was enlightened. That's where she accepted the lord as her personal savior, she learned how to pray and read the word of God. It was a testimony for Akeelah because she was transformed into a better child, she was saved. Akeelah rejoiced because when she prayed the lord answered her prayers, the mother became present. It was joy for the girl.
