16 Chapter 13: Stay Back

Sure enough, as it was very much quite a bit of a surprise to me at the exact same time as well, there was the two leg place that I had seen from my dreams. I could tell that it was a two leg place, even though it was a lot different than many of the others that I had ever seen, due to the fact that I saw a bunch of two legs in the big field, as it looked that they were feeding the large and scary animals.

I was a bit scared for them if I was going to be honest with my self, as I coule not lie either, I still felt a bit of some thing to the two legs that I had left a few days ago. I sighed, as I shook off all of those thoughts at the exact same time as well, as I then sighed a bit to my self at the exact same time as well.

I some times seemed to forget just how big and strong that two legs were, and it did not seem like the other, much bigger animals, seemed to care at all that the two legs were getting right up to them, as I could see them staring down at the ground, as it seemed like they were biting in to the grass.

Perhaps I might have been just a little bit wrong about the animals, but either way, at the exact same time too, I did not want to even try to get any where near any of them, as I felt like they might not see me, and just the fact of them perhaps even stepping on me, might kill me.

I sighed just a tad bit, as I did my best to shake off those thoughts at the exact same time too, as I looked away from the large field that was a fair bit ahead of me still. I did not need to have my focus on the fact that there were two legs and big and scary animals all over the place.

I knew that my focus needed to be on the place that I had seen in my dreams. I had been told to go there from the very strange cat, and for a bit, I had thought that I was going crazy, and that there was no such thing as an after life for cats. Clearly I had been proven wrong, for not the first time, as I saw that this was the place that I had been in.

Maybe not quite like that, as I had not really been in it all that much, but I had just seen it from the out side more than one time for sure. I sighed just a bit to my self, as I all of the sudden shook my head at the same time as well, as it still felt like there was some thing in my head, that was trying to tell me for some odd reason or another, that none of this was real at all.

Another part of me, which felt more like it came from the heart, was telling me that I needed to go in, and I needed to find that cat that I had seen so many times in my dream. I felt like that might be the cat that could help me go the way that I needed to be taken to, in order to find the place that I was told about, called 'The Sun Trail'.

I shivered at those thoughts at the exact same time too, as I was not so sure as to what was going on with me at this very moment in time. I had always been a bit scared of change, but this felt to be a bit different, and I was not so sure as to why I would be freaked out about any of it at all.

This was going to be my life, and it was time for me to accept the truth. I just was not so sure as to what it was that I should do all at once how ever. I was standing in this same spot that I had been in for while, in the middle of a wide open field, were any scary animal could see me and go after me whenever they felt it to be necessary.

I shivered at those thoughts at the same time too, as I knew that I really needed to go forward, but I could not help but to be a bit afraid of the animals that were right ahead of me. I felt a bit sick, as I was not sure if I should be more afraid of the big animals that I could see right now, or if I should more afraid as to the animals that I could not see.

I looked around for just a few moments, as I felt like I could see a coyote staring me down at this very moment, even if I knew that they usually only came out at night. I also had never even seen one before, so I was not so sure as to what it was that was going on with me at this very moment in time.

I sighed just a bit, as I all of the sudden then began to nod to my self, as I saw that those big animals that I had been staring at for a while, were doing no sort of harm, and it did not seem to be that they cared all that much that there was a whole lot of two legs all around them at this very moment in time.

For animals that seemed to be living out in the wild, it did not seem like they acted like they were. I shook my head, as I sighed once again, but this time it was a bit more of a grateful sigh, as to the fact that I knew that I was going to be safe, and that there was not going to be any thing bad happen to me.

If I stayed out here any longer how ever though, I knew that it very well could change, as I saw the sun lowering it self in the horizon, as it was sooner to the night at this point, than it was to the morning. I was being a bit of an idiot, as to the fact that I was just standing in this same spot still.

I could not lie, I was quite a bit hungry now, and I felt like that at this point, I would be happy with even dry food. I shook my head at the same time once again, as I knew that it did not mean that I wanted to eat dry food. I just was so hungry, that I felt like I would be happy with any food that I could get.

I looked around me for just a few moments, to see if I could spot any more rabbits, but that sadly did not seem to be the case at all at this very moment. I was about to sniff the air to try and catch the scent of some, but I also realized at the same time too, that I did not want to get too far away from the two leg place that I had just found.

I felt like I was lucky enough to even find it in the first place. Besides, I was sure that once I was there, I could find plenty of prey laying around. I knew that I needed to get my focus on trying to find the cats that I had seen in my dream. I knew that there had to have been a reason that I had seen them in my dreams in the first place.

I blinked a few times, as I finally then nodded to my self, as I saw that the two leg place that was in front of me, was quite a bit big, and it was split in to several different sections as well. I could be looking for them all night for all that I knew. Perhaps they might have already left, and decided that they wanted to live some where else.

I shook my head at those thoughts how ever, as I knew that not the be the case at all, as it seemed like the cats were fine, and that they were content with the place that they lived at, at this very moment as well. I shook off all of those thoughts at the same time as well, as I then stared at the two leg place that was ahead of me.

I then began to walk, but I walked in the opposite direction that led right in to the big animals. I did not care if the path that I was going to take, was going to take me a lot more time, I was just more focused on the fact that I wanted to get to the place, and I wanted to get there safe as well, even if it took a little bit of time off of my day.

If worse came to worst, than I could just go ahead and stay the night in one of the places, high up, to make sure that none of the big animals got any where near me at the same time as well. I would be quite a bit hungry, but I was sure that I would soon be quick to get over it once I caught some thing in the morning.

Who knows, I very well might find a place like the place that I had slept at the last couple of nights for all that I knew. Though the place that I was looking at, at this very moment ahead of me, seemed to be in a lot better of condition that the other place that I had slept at, so I felt like I might not find all that many mice in there.

I shook my head how ever, as it felt like I did not care all that much about any of that any more, as I was more just worried about finding the cats that I had seen in my dreams, before it was too late. I had blown a lot of chances that I had in my life, and I was not going to let my self blow this one as well.

I squinted, as I looked at the large fence that was ahead of me. It was quite a big one, but it had a big hole through the bottom and the center that I could most certainly be able to fit through. It was clearly designed to stop the big animals from escaping this area, and it was becoming more and more clear to me that it was the two legs who owned the animals, rather than have it be the other way around.

I shivered at the thought of the power that a two leg had. They did in fact own me, and they were the ones that had fed me, and made sure that I had stayed alive. I did not get to learn how to do any thing that a rogue cat knew how to do out in the wild, and I felt like I was lucky that I had left when I did, as I was not sure how much time I would have had left with them.

I was starting to get worried that at any day, they might just throw me out of the nest that they lived in. I shivered at that thought, as at the same time as well, I also was not all too sure as to why I was so worried about all of that in the very first place, as I was free from all of that now, and I was free to live the life that I had always wanted.

I grinned at those thoughts, as at the exact same time as well, I also shook my head, thinking back on the fact as to what it was that I had even been doing in the very first place any ways, as I saw that there still was a very big fence in front of me, and I needed to get through it at some point soon.

I also could not help hut to get worried about all of the other animals that were in that pen as well, as they were so much bigger than me. I felt a bit sick, as I did my best to try to shake off all of those thoughts at the exact same time as well, as I knew that I should not be all too worried about them, as they were a fair bit away from me, and they also did not seem to be bothering the two legs that were around them.

I could not help but to be a little bit lost as to why they were there in the first place, but I shook my head, as I shook off all of those thoughts at the exact same time as well. If the animals did some how notice me, I am sure that I would see, and hear them coming from a very long distance away.

I just had to make sure that I was near the fence, so that if they did in fact do as such, it meant that I would have quite a quick way out of that. I nodded to my self at the same time too, as it felt like I had now made up my mind, and I also felt like I was in a bit of a rush at the same time too, as it felt like they were just about to leave right now.

I got kind of scared at those thoughts at the same time too, as I then all of the sudden began to sprint as fast as I could past the fence that was in front of me. I realized just how fast I could go as, as I had never gone as fast as this in my entire life, as I now realized that I should not be so shocked as to the fact that Night had done as such.

I smiled a bit to my self, as I flew in to the field a bit, just enjoying the wind fly across my back, as just as soon as I was doing as such, I stopped my self, as I realized that I was going right over to the animals that were on the other side of the field for some dumb and odd reason or another.

I shook my head, as I turned my head back to the place that I needed to have my focus on, as it was around the same area that I had been in, whilst I had been in my dream, which meant that the cats that I was looking for, were some where around that area, and I needed to head my self over to that part of the two leg place.

I then all of the sudden nodded to my self, as I headed that way, making sure that I kept my focus on that, rather than be looking all across the place that I was at, to see what I was looking at in the first place. I blinked a few times, as I kept on going over the strange looking two leg nests that were ahead of me.

I was drawing closer and closer to it, as I was going quite a bit slow at the same time too, due to the fact that I was a bit unsure as to what I was about to get my self in to. I was a bit scared, as I was not going to lie, as I almost wanted to head back to the other side of the fence, and go back to Nights place.

I knew that I could not do as such how ever, as I knew I was still a bit afraid that by the time I got there, they might have left their home for some odd reason or another. I did not even want to risk that as being a possibility, and also as well as the fact that I really did not want to go back to her nasty abandoned two leg nest.

Besides, at this point as well, I was not sure if I would even find my way back in the first place, and if I even tried, I feared that I might get lost, and I might lose my way back there for one, or even worse, I might lose my way back to the place that I was at right now, which I knew for sure I could not risk.

This was the place that I had seen in my dreams, and while it might be a bit cheesy as to what Ben had told me to do as well, when he told me that I should go after my dreams, I felt like this was a case where he was right. Plus the story that he had said to me at the exact same time too, also felt like it had made quite a bit of sense.

I shook my head, as I shook off those thoughts at the exact same time too, as I all of the sudden heard quite the loud voice speaking to me from not all too far away. It kind of shocked me, as well as it scared me quite a bit at the same time too, due to the fact that I had been a bit lost in my head, and I had not seen it coming at all.

I shook my head at the same time too, as I remembered another thing that Night had told me, was that I needed to act calm, and fine on a scary or stressful situation, to let the other person know that you were not afraid of them. I felt like it might be a bit of a bad idea, but at the same time too, I felt like that might come in handy.

I looked over to where I had heard the voice come from at the exact same time too, so that I could see who it was that had spoken to me for one, and to see if it really was a cat that I should be afraid of. As soon as I turned my head over to them, I then listened as to what it was that they were saying in the first place as well.

"It is such a nice day out here..." I heard the cat say, as I blinked a few times, as I realized at the exact same time too, that the cat was not speaking to me at all either. As I saw the cat, I then realized that it was the smaller kit that I had seen in my dreams, and I also noticed that for some odd reason or another, the kit was alone.

I looked around to try to find the father, but as I did in fact look around for just a few moments, not saying a word, nor moving around none the less, I all of the sudden then realized that there was no father to be seen at all. I blinked a few times, as it kind of had me a little bit worried for the kid.

For one, this was technically still the wild, and there could be some freaky animal that could come after the young tom kit. I had taken in at this point, that the big animals that were in the field, were by no means any sort of scary animal at all, and there was no reason for me to be freaked out any longer.

I then also remembered that this still technically was in fact a two leg place, and with all of those big animals around here, I was quite a bit sure that a hunting animal would not come over here none the less. I sighed just a bit to my self at the same time too, as I did my best to try and shake off those thoughts as well.

It came back to me at the same time, that the kit was still young enough for a hawk to come after it, and I was starting to wonder what the father of this kit was thinking, when he had just some how left him alone by him self. I blinked a few times, as I was sure that the father would have known at this point too.

It was clear that the father had left him here, as he maybe had gone to go and do some thing else. I felt like the father for sure would not be asleep at this time of the day, no matter how much a lot of cats liked to sleep. I shook my head, as I felt like I should not be too worried about the kit.

There was a roof above the kids head, and a two leg nest behind him, so the hawk would have to swoop insanely low to catch him, and he would for sure see the hawk before it even got the chance to do as such. I gulped just a bit still, as I still could not help but too feel bad for the kit either way.

I was tempted to go over to the kit, and try to warm him up a bit, but at the same time as well, I also knew that it might be a terrible idea to do as such, as I was worried that the kit might freak out, and he might yell to his father for help. If the father saw a strange cat near his kit, he would freak out, and have no other choice but to go after me.

I sighed a bit, as I shook my head, as I knew that I could not go to the young kit right now, as I knew that it was a very terrible idea. I looked away from the kit at the exact same time too, as I did my best to hide, to make sure that the kit did not turn his head over here for some odd reason, and spot my head through the cracks.

I gulped just a bit, as I was not quite so sure as to what it was that I should do. I knew that confronting the kit would be a terrible idea for sure, but at the same time too, I also was not so sure as to what it was that I should do to try to get the attention of the father, so that he came over to me with out getting ready to head in to a fight.

Either way, I felt like just walking up to the young kit was a terrible idea, as I threw that out of the question, and I then moved away from that area, to make sure that I was completely out of view to the kit, if we was took look over my way for any odd reason what so ever.

I felt like no matter what, the father had to be some what close to his kit, as I knew that there was surely no possible way as to the fact that he would leave his kit that far away from him, as to where he would not be able to come to his rescue, if his kit was yelling for the help of his father.

I was fairly certain that his father had to be doing some thing in this two leg place, as I sniffed the air, to catch a whiff of the kit, but no whiff of his father. I was fairly certain that if his father was to go out on his own for any reason what so ever, than he would make sure the kit was in a bit of a safer place than this one.

I let out a bit of a soft sigh to my self at the same time too, as I saw an open way in to the two leg nest, as it was quite a bit of a strange one if I was not going to lie, as I had seen the kit laid on top of one of those big yellow almost grass looking things. I was not sure if this was a two leg place at all if I was going to be honest with my self.

I shook my head, as I shook off those thoughts at the same time as well, as I knew that I had to get my focus on the task that was ahead of me. I was fairly certain that the father was in that two leg place, but the real question was, how I was going to get in with out getting caught be the kit, and having him yell to his father for help.

I saw quite an open area in front of me, but I knew that for sure, the kit would see me if I was to do as such. I looked around the nest for just a little bit longer as well, as I all of the sudden spotted a bit of an open area, a smaller one, but one that I could easily sneak in through, with out getting caught by the kit.

I nodded to my self, as I then began to head over to it quickly, before the kit was to for some reason turn his head over, or walk to where I was at for some reason. I blinked a few times, as I let out quite a loud sigh at the same time as well, as I then nodded to my self too, realizing that I was now safe from getting caught.

I stared at the small open place to get in to the two leg nest, as I gulped, and I shivered at the same time too, as it all of the sudden then came back to me at the exact same time too. I was not so sure as to what it was that I was even going to do once I was to get in to the two leg nest in the first place.

He was going to have to catch me no matter what the case was, so I may as well at least try to think of some thing before I went in to there, and got his attention. I knew that I did not want to freak him out, and have him attack me, but I was not so sure as to what I could say that might be able to relax the cat.

I shook my head, as I saw from behind me at the same time as well, that the sun was falling, and I was running out of time. At any point the father could come out side, and get his son, to take him in for the night. At that point, I was for sure certain that if he found me in side, he would be overly aggressive on me, as he would try to defend his kit, as if he were the mother.

I sighed just a bit, as I was fairly certain that I knew as to what it was that I had to do now, as I knew that I needed to get in there before it was too late. I blinked a few times, as I then all of the sudden nodded to my self at the exact same time too, as I went ahead and did as such, as I then began to walk in to the two leg nest, making sure to stay silent so that the cat did not just attack me right away.

As I got in to the two legs nest, I could not lie when I said that the place was for sure dark. I could not see a single thing in side of there, and it kind of freaked me out at the exact same time as well. I blinked a few times, as I stopped my self too. I did not want to go any further in, until my eyes got a bit adjusted to the light.

I stared in front of me for quite a bit of some time, until finally, my eyes did in fact get used to the dark, and it was now easy for me to see all of the sudden. I let out a bit of a sigh of relief at the same time too, as I really did not want to search the place in the dark, for a cat that would surely attack me as soon as it saw me.

Once I was a little bit more settled in, I then began to walk a little bit further in to the place, as I heard some strange noises scurry by me at the same time as well. I tilted my head, as I stopped my self at the same time too. It kind of freaked me out, as I still was not sure if I should be freaked out by the noise that I had heard.

I had heard the noise more than once before, and I was fairly certain it had not been a scary noise, as I was fairly certain that I would have remembered it, as it was usually insanely rare to have some thing scary ever happen to me. I shook my head, as I let out a bit of a soft sigh at the same time too, as I knew that I needed to act normal, and it would not be a good first look for me to look afraid.

I then nodded to my self in return, as I then continued to go a bit deeper in to the strange place that I was in right now. I knew for a fact at this point, that this was not a two leg place, just based off of the area that I was in right now, as it was so open, besides the strange yellow grass that was all over the place right now.

I kept on going, as I knew I had to keep my focus on the task that was in front of me, as I knew that I needed to make sure that I did not freak the father of the kit out all too much. I knew that he was going to be freaked out as it was already, as, as soon as he saw a strange cat, he would immediately freak out about his son.

Fortunately for him, I was not that type of cat, but I was sure that he did not know that, and he would freak out no matter what. I shook my head, as I felt like that I should not be all too worried about that at all at this moment, as I all of the sudden stepped right in to a strange spot that was on the floor beneath me.

I jumped back, not due to the fact that I was scared, but I was in fact a bit freaked out in what it was that I had stepped in. At first I thought that it might be some manure, as it was still quite a bit warm, but as I looked back over to it, I all of the sudden saw that it was a mouse.

A dead one at that, as it had me quite a bit shocked, as if I did not think that the tom cat could hunt. I shook my head, as I was sure that he could, as it was clear to me that another cat had killed this mouse. I blinked a few times at the same time too, as I then suddenly lifted my head up in to the air, to try to sniff out any more mice.

And too no surprise what so ever, I smelt the smell of mice all over the place. It was even more over whelming that the abandoned two leg place that I had been in last night. I knew that I could catch any one of them when ever I so pleased, but for some odd reason or another, I had my eyes on the fresh dead mouse that was below me.

I was so hungry at this very moment, and I could not help but to lick my lips at the fact that there was fresh prey below me, especially when it came back to me, just how good it taste in the first place as well. Combine that with the fact that I was insanely hungry, I felt like I was about to bite in to the mouse at any moment now.

That was, until, I heard the voice of another cat then began to speak, and as it spoke as well, I could tell that it had a much more angry tone of voice, which pretty much told me that the cat was speaking right up to me. How could I blame him for being angry either? I was sure that I had the mouse that he had caught in my paws.

I moved back in just the slightest, as I was a bit freaked out by it, as I had not seen, nor heard the cat coming over to me. Perhaps he had been waiting for me to do as such, as he had seen me from further away, and he was baiting me in. I shook off all of those thoughts how ever, as I then got my focus on the tom cat, as he began to speak to me, and I then listened as to what it was that he had to say to me.

"Show your self cat! You stole my prey!" He yelled to me, as I could tell that he was not all too happy with me at this moment. I blinked a few times, as I was quite a bit confused by it, due to the fact that I could smell plenty of other mice around the area. I then remembered at the same time to, that Night had told me that it was disrespectful to steal some one elses prey, and I was not going to lie, with how hungry I was at this moment, I was tempted to do as such. I blinked a few times, as I shook off all of those thoughts from my head, as I heard the tom cat then begin to speak up to me once again, and I listened as to what it was that he was saying. "How did you get in here any ways? What did you do to my son?"

I stared at him for a little bit of some time, as I could tell that he knew just as well as I did, that his son was at the main area that I had seen to get in to this place. I was starting to think that it might have been better just to get the attention of the kit, as I could see that the tom cat had his claws out, as it was clear that he was ready to fight me.

I shivered just a bit, and I then shook my head finally, as I could tell that the cat was being quite a bit defensive at the very moment too. He then all of the sudden began to draw quite a bit closer to me at the exact same time as well, as I could tell that the cat was quite a bit suspicious of me right now.

I blinked a few times, as it then hit me as to what he had just said, as I knew that he had a bit of a fair point to be freaking out at this moment, as I knew that he was quite a bit worried for his kit. I gulped a bit, as I was not so sure what to do, as it felt like my mind was drawing quite a bit of a blank.

This was the worst time for me to be doing as such as well, as it looked like he was about to jump at me, at any moment now. I shivered a bit, as I knew that I needed to speak, and I needed to speak fast, as I suddenly began to speak up to the tom cat, saying the words off of the top of my head, as if my tongue was taking over rather than my actual thoughts.

"Your kit is fine... I came in through the other side... I have been looking for you..." I said to the cat, as I saw him tilt his head quite a bit at the exact same time too. I could tell that he was a bit confused, which made me feel a whole lot better than him looking at me like he was about to attack me. I let out a little bit of a sigh of relief to my self, as I nodded to my self at the same time as well. Now that I felt a lot more safe, I knew that I had to describe to him what it was that I was talking about. I was not so sure what to say at first, until some thing came in to my head that Ben had once told me... Perhaps this cat might believe in the same thing that Ben had believed in. Either way, I felt like at the very least, it was worth a shot, as I then all of the sudden began to speak back up to him once again. "Some one brought me here in my dreams..."

As soon as I had said it, I felt like a bit of an idiot, as I felt like I might have made a big mistake, now that I thought on what it was that I had said. Really? I had dreams of him? That would only raise even more suspicion in to him, as I was fairly certain for sure now, that he was going to throw me out.

I dipped my head a little bit low to the ground, as I imagined that the cat was about to hiss at me, and threaten me, like I had told rogues were like. This was a rogue right? I really could not tell if I was going to be honest with my self, as he did not really seem to be kitty pet, nor did he seem to be a rogue.

It had me quite a bit confused, but I did my best to shake off all of those thoughts, as I knew that at this moment right now, I needed to stay strong, and I needed to make sure that the cat knew that I was telling the truth with what it was that I had said to him in the very first place as well.

I looked at the tom cat for just a few moments, as I saw that he did not have an angry look on his face at all, nor did he have a look of confusion either, which I was fairly certain that I had thought that I was going to be getting from him. Instead, the look on his face, I could not differentiate if it was a look of shock, or if it were a look of surprise, which now had me confused.

The tom cat dipped his head a bit low to the ground at first, as it was clear that he was trying to tell me that he had heard what it was that he had said, and to my surprise as well, he actually felt like he seemed to believe as to what it was that I had just said to him, which I was quite a bit shocked about.

He stared it to my eyes for quite a bit of some time, as I looked right back in to his eyes too, to make sure that I stayed strong in a situation like this. After a few moments longer, the tom cat nodded to me, as it was clear that he was about to speak to me. I nodded back to him, as I was getting ready for him to talk, until I heard a much different voice speak up from not too far away... It was a voice that I had not heard too long ago, as I looked over to where it was that I heard the voice come from, as I listened as to what it was that the other cat had to say.

"Frank... Who is that? I thought you said that there were no other cats near us..." He said to the cat that I had just spoken to a few moments ago. I then saw the cat move forward, so that it was easier for me to see it, as I then realized right away at the exact same time too, that it was kit of the father.

I relaxed my self just a bit, as if I was the one that should be worried. I was a bit on edge now that I was alone, as I had put it in to my brain already that I was going to be, but it was clear that did not last all that long at all, and now I was worried that any thing I saw was going to attack me as soon as I got near it.

I had thought that way with the animals when I had seen them, which to be fair was due to the fact that they were so big. I had also thought that about Frank, the father of the kit too, which to be fair once again, was due to the fact that he might have actually attacked me if I had not explained to him fairly decently, as to why I was here with him.

I gulped just a bit, as I then let out a bit of a soft sigh at the exact same time too, as I was glad that the kit had come out when he had did, as I knew that it was already going to get some sort of trust in me from him. Why did I need his trust in the first place? Who was this cat any ways?

I shook my head, as I was not so sure as to what the answer was to that question either. I was sure that it would soon be answered, but right now I needed to have my focus on the cat any ways, as after all, I was in fact in his bit of a strange two leg place, and I had not asked for any sort of permission.

I was about to speak to him, as a bit of an apology, but he interrupted me before I had the chance to get started, as I heard him begin to speak up once again, but this time it was not to me at all, as it was instead to his kit that was next to him. I blinked a few times, as I then all of the sudden listened as to what it was that he had to say.

"Owl... Not now... Stay back..."
