Chapter 12: Cra The Crusher!

Ken and Zad both arrived at the inn and went inside. It was as busy as ever, but that didn't matter to Ken. He pushed his way to the front of the line and slammed down the piece of paper onto the desk. On the other side there appeared to be a formal looking man wearing a white shirt along with glasses he was quite tall too. There was no doubt that this was the innkeeper.

"All the information you have on this troll, I'd like to know every single little detail you have."

After saying that everything and everyone in the inn went silent, even mentioning the word troll put everyone inside of the inn on edge. The innkeeper took a good look at Ken, and in a matter of seconds, he became serious.

"Trust me when I say this, kid this isn't the path you want to take, there are so many other bounties for you to take this just isn't one of them..."

Ken took those words from the innkeeper as if he had already prepared for them, Zad stood behind Ken looking like he was almost about to faint from all the glares, but they didn't affect Ken at all his mind was already made up. What Ken strives for isn't glory, gold or praise. It's a safer world where adventurers don't have to give up their life, fighting beasts like this.

"I thank you for your concern for me. However, nothing you say will change my decision."

Another adventurer that was closely listening in on the conversation between ken and the innkeeper and stepped in to talk to Ken. He had a large physique and looked like he was a close and personal fighter wearing iron gauntlets.

"I understand you want to take on strong creatures, and become a well-known adventure or whatever, but he's right this isn't a path you want to be taking. I don't even think I would be able to beat that troll."

After hearing what that adventurer had to say it annoyed Ken.

"If you really think that's what I'm after, then you shouldn't even speak to me I didn't come here to ask for your advice, I came here for information. So if you can't give me what I want, I suggest you go back to what you were doing."

After Ken said that you could tell that the adventurer was about to explode, but it seems like that's what Ken wanted all along, the man gripped his fist and punched right through the wooden counter.

"If you gotta problem with me kid how about we settle this outside."

Ken turned around to look at the innkeeper while smiling pointing at the adventurer asking.

"If I beat this large gentleman do you think then you'll be able to give me some information?"

The innkeeper sighed and nodded his head.

"I'll see you outside, try not to piss yourself before the fight kid."

Once he said that the adventurer stormed out of the inn and proceeded to wait for Ken. As soon as he left, Zad ran up to Ken worried about what just happened.

"What on earth was that he's gonna pummel you, what were you thinking Ken!"

Ken didn't seem too happy about Zad saying that but then realised that Zad's never seen him fight.

"It seems like you don't have much faith in me, but don't worry this was probably the best way to get information all you need to do is sit back and watch."

Zad couldn't imagine Ken beating that adventurer, but he knew he had to trust Ken. The innkeeper had his suspicions about Ken since his attitude was just too carefree, anyone else in that situation would've either been afraid or kept quiet. Ken casually walked out of the inn into a crowd of people with the adventurer standing tall in the middle.

"I'm surprised you actually came, kept us waiting too long we thought you might've ran home. I guess I'll introduce myself my names Cra, but they call me Cra The Crusher for short."

Ken thought to himself

"What, that's clearly longer..."

This situation felt all too familiar to Ken, just like the one where he found himself up against that thief back in Alecentria because this was the first real fight he had in a long time he was excited and ready to teach him a lesson.

"Alright, kid if you apologise now I'll try to hold back when pounding you into the ground."

Ken seriously couldn't believe how this guy was so full of himself. It only made Ken proceed to make him even more irritated by putting his hands in his pockets and saying.

"Your words are making me too tired, can you hurry up and start already."

You could almost see the steam coming out of Cra's head as Ken said that.

I suppose you can't get any more generic than Cra the Crusher I wonder who'll win. Might start going back into the shorter chapters until it picks up a little again then I'll make them a little longer, but I hoped you enjoyed.
