A cliché Start

"Objects are disappearing all over the world and we still have no idea why. Museums were hit the hardest, with some of their most valuable displays vanish...*Click*"

As the TV went silent someone walked passed it while kicking off their shoes. "I guess I left my TV on."

"But It's finally my day off!" A woman with brown shoulder-length hair said flopping

on a bed. "I finally can sleep in!" They raised their arms and shut off their phone then passed out.

"hunng..." A Woman laying in the middle of a forest clearing stirred upon hearing a sound.

'I thought I didn't set an alarm today.' She thought as turned over trying to get comfortable but it was strangely hard for a bed.

"Wait, that's not even my alarm." she groggily opened her eyes only to see something floating a bit above her face.

She blinked a few times staring at it then rubbed her eyes And looked at it again.

A small Light and dark blue window was sitting in front of her face.

The frame of the window was dark blue with a pattern on it. The inside was a light blue background with white text.

Kella sat up and stared at the window. The window followed her to stay in the same position relative to her. "Cat beastkin? I wish someone could explain some of these things to me." Kella saw this sometimes in novels and games.

'It's weird seeing it actually in front of you.' Kella sighed and looked at her limbs and then realized they were a porcelain white instead her usual tanned brown skin.

"What the..." They even looked thinner than before.

Kella quickly checked the rest of their body As she did that the window went away.

Kella then realized she was wearing a shirt and pants that looked like a Medieval peasant costume and that her hair changed colors to dark, almost black-purple hair that reached the middle of her back. "My clothes, hair, and skin changed what the hell?"

Kella then rubbed her head in frustration and felt flaps of skin with fur on it. "What now?"

As Kella examined the flaps of flesh she realized that her hearing was coming from this and not the side of her head. "Wait, are they ears?"

Kella checked the side of her head but felt nothing besides smooth skin. "Those are gone, Fuck."

Kella tried to pinch the bridge of her nose but her nails were too long and sharp to be used instead. 'Seriously?'

Kella stared at her nails before she looked up. "Wait that screen said my race was Cat Beastkin... are they Cat ears?"

"If I have cat ears do I have a tail too?" Kella sarcastically mumbled as she turned her head and saw a tail swaying back and forth.

"Of course I do." Kella's eyes lingered on the tail.

"How sensitive is it?" She wrapped her hand around it and felt her heart rate go up like someone had a knife to her throat.

"That's interesting... how about this?" Kella squeezed and electricity shot up her spine.

Kella let her tail go and watched it swishing around erratically matching her uneasiness and the shock from squeezing her tail. "Wow, that's almost painful."

"Anything I'm forgetting?" Kella thought for a moment and then looked down.

"I'm the same gender right?" Kella undid her pants and dropped them.

Kella didn't have any kind of underwear letting her sew that she was indeed still a female. "Well that's good I really hate the thought of changing gender against my will."

Kella Examined her breast and tried to grope them but it was almost completely flat. "I'm as flat as a board now, shame I can't squeeze them anymore."

"Oh, what about my feet?" Kella looked down at her legs and saw that she wasn't wearing shoes.

"Couldn't they give me shoes?" Kella joked as she looked a bit closer and saw how her toenails were curved down and ended in a sharp point resembling more claws than nails now.

Her feet looked slightly off, they were unnaturally long the bones were compared to a human. 'What the hell is this?'

Kella reached out with her hand and realized how her hands were similar to her feet in that the bones were extended but not enough to be noticed at a glance. "What am I?"

Kella shifted each of her fingers to see how they moved. "Almost the same but I can lock my fingers in place but my nails are more like claws now as well."

Kella's nails were the same as her toenails. "I guess this is a good thing?"

Kella's fingers naturally set in place with them slightly bent at the right angle for her claws to be used to slash into things. 'I guess that I was made to use these like a... Cat?'

'I can't close my hands without hurting myself.' Kella thought as She tried to make a fist and stopped when she felt her claws start to dig into her flesh.

Kella then moved on to see how her feet moved, the middle of her foot can be moved up and down. "The metatarsals seem to have changed to let me climb without difficulty."

"I think that's everything with my body done with." Kella looked around and all she saw was short grass and trees that had no branches.

"Where the hell am I?" Kella took note of how the bark was almost smooth and that they were spaced evenly apart.

"This is definitely not natural." Kella stood up and felt the grass in between her toes as she tried to walk to one of the logs.

Kella stumbled as her long feet made it difficult to walk the way she was used to and slipped on the grass. "Why is this so hard?!"

Kella's voice echoed through the trees. "I wonder if there are animals here? I should probably shut up until I can at least walk."

Kella got up again and realized her ankle was more stable when it was tipping forwards. 'Another difference I guess.'

Kella shifted her ankle up and took an unsteady step. 'This is interesting at least.'

Kella took another step a bit better than the last and again and again until she reached the tree she was going for. "Well, that's a great start."

Kella looked up the tree's trunk and saw that there were branches but they were at least 20 meters up. "There's not a lot here so I should get used to walking by going in a random direction?"

*Splash*

"What was that?" Kella couldn't tell where the sound came from but she heard it.

Kella stood still and see if she could hear it again but she was met with silence. 'Well, I'll just keep an ear out for it while I walk.'

And Kella walked it was unsteady and slow but she was improving. 'I'll be able to run much faster when I get better, so there's that.'

After about 30 minutes when it happened again. *splash*

'Damn it, I was walking away from it.' Kella turned around on the spot and walked back the way she came.

Kella started to walk flat-footed again without realizing it as she thought about what the noise could be. 'That was definitely something liquid and hopefully, it's water since I'm going to need hydrate eventually.'

'Maybe I should try running.' Kella tried to jump to get ready and immediately fell over.

Kella pushed herself back up and sighed. 'Not good enough yet I guess.'

'Let's not run before I can walk I suppose.' Kella started to walk towards where she heard the water.

This is a remaster of my first novel that I wrote and I felt the story absolutely deserved more then my terrible grammar was showcasing.

Although the original wasn't super long at 38K words it is currently my longest novel on this site.
