16 Chapter 16

They stay busy in the igloo for the next twenty minutes, alone.

“Where have you two been?” Pam asks Jonah and Sandy after their pair of blow- and handjobs in the Cunningham’s igloo next door. They’ve been gone for almost forty minutes.

“Outside talking,” Jonah says. He pours Sandy a cup of coffee, adds cream, and passes it to Sandy so the guy can warm up his right hand, mouth, and other chilled body parts from being in the igloo.

“Thanks,” Sandy says, taking the mug of coffee.

Jonah winks at him. The wink says: I have your back. Don’t forget that you’re mine. We are meant to be together.

Ricky’s still present in the kitchen, sitting beside Pam. Both are working through the same crossword together and drinking wine. The bottle of wine is almost empty. Its cork sits near Ricky’s left hand. Jonah notes that the thing is thinner than one of Ricky’s fingers.

Jonah asks, “Where’s Willa?”
