11 Chapter 11

Jonah rolls his eyes.

Sandy ignores Ricky.

“Town! Erie Plaza!” Bobo calls out, leading the threesome to Sandy’s truck parked in the drive. “I have to pick something up for Willa!”

Ricky hollers, “I’m heading there myself! Why don’t we all go together and take my Hummer? There’s plenty of room for us four men!”

This is the time and place when Jonah needs to tell Bobo, “Listen, Bobo, Sandy and I will meet you there. I don’t want to spend an extra minute with Ricky Malonni when I don’t have to. Please understand.” This doesn’t happen, though. Strangely, and quietly, he agrees to the arrangement. Before Jonah realizes it, he’s sitting in the front seat of the Hummer, on Ricky’s right side while Sandy and Bobo sit in the back.
