Genome Points

In a weird dungeon-like setting stayed our protagonist. And though nobody was there to witness the scene, Ambrocio was talking to himself.

[System will now remind host.]

[Host you know it is possible to just talk to the system using mind.]

"Just shut up!!!"

Ambrocio was seething with rage. He was framed by a freaking fold in time. He was chosen to be the keeper of order and chaos. And now he was being told that he would be stuck here until he was strong enough to survive the apocalypse.

[Host should calm down and start the training dungeon if he does not want to spend more time here.]

"I said shut up. Can you explain to me what you just said a minute ago?"

[I told the host that an apocalypse would occur. I told host he was chosen to be the keeper of order and chaos. And I also told the host that he cannot leave until he is strong enough to survive the start of the apocalypse.]

Grabbing his hair in frustration, all Ambrocio could do was lay his body against the stone wall of the dungeon. He was so scared about what was happening, he thought that just maybe this would be cool, but now he was being told that he would be stuck down here with no human interaction until he was strong enough to survive the freaking apocalypse.

"How long will I be down here?"

[Host will stay here until he is strong enough to survive the beginning of the apocalypse.]

"I meant.....Haaaa. I give up, the sooner I can leave this place the better."

[Is host now ready to start the training dungeon?]

"Yes."

[Host will be tested to sense potential.]

When hearing the response of the system, he became more confused.

"I thought we would just start the training?"

[To excavate the potential of the host, the system must see how the host responds to life and death situations.]

"Wait...what?"

Ambrocio was taken by surprise when he again was transported into another white space. A steel sword was thrown at him from the side.

[Host task is to defeat Elementary Goblin.]

A weird looking green goblin just popped up around 5 meters in front of him. And without any hesitation, the goblin charged at him.

"What the..."

Instantly responding to the goblin charge, he dodged to the side just in time to see the weird goblin stab at his previous location. Ambrocio had never felt so livid in his entire life. He had almost died, and as a virgin too.

Responding just as equally fast as the goblin, he kicked at its head making the goblin fall to the ground. When Ambrocio saw that his attack had stunned the goblin, he used the sword in his hand to violently stab at the goblin.

"Blarhggggg"

Hearing the sound of the sword violently piercing through the goblin flesh, Ambrocio instantly felt sick. He looked down to see that the goblin's green blood had stained his pajamas making him look like the Grinch.

Hearing the emotionless robotic voice in his head talk did not stop him from continuing to puke his guts out. After about 4 minutes of retching, Ambrocio finally wiped his mouth.

"What are genome points?"

[For the host to understand genome points, the host should first pull up his stats. For the host to activate stat sheet, the host should just say status in his mind.]

Following the system's advice, Ambrocio was surprised to feel a sudden spurt of information just go into his mind.

After understanding the stat sheet in front of him, he started to get a basic idea of what the genome points were all about. It looked like the genome points would improve his genome level which would make him stronger.

But even though he finally understood what the stat sheet was about, he was still confused about one thing.

"System, I thought that being a keeper was just a title. Why is my race also keeper?"

[The host should think as a keeper as a sort of being. Though it is also a title, it has changed you to the core.]

"I think I understand. So what is the genome level and the other stuff all about?"

[I think the host already has a basic understanding of his stat sheet. Your genome level is your level of existence. If you humans have a genome level of 1, your quote on quote gods have a genome level of about 1000.]

"So are you saying that gods are not just all-powerful beings. They are just higher on the genetic side of life."

[The host can think of it like so. But you also have to realize that a being does not just have a body it also has a soul. The soul is the most mysterious part of any being and cannot be messed with. Any being is born with an innate ability deep within there soul. Your soul's ability could be different based on your genetic level. So even if you had a genome level of 1000, a god could probably kill you in an instant due to its higher level soul ability.]

"That makes more sense. It would be kind of weird if anyone could just match a god like that."

[That is understandable host. But you must also realize that you need a s**t ton of genome points to raise your genome level. 1 genome point for you right now, will only raise your genetic level about .1 and that's because you're weak right now, it becomes harder and harder as you become stronger.]

Right now Ambrocio's head was swelling at the amount of information he was receiving. Though it was quite overwhelming, Ambrocio was willing to do anything to live a more fulfilling life.

The system had kept on lecturing about faith point and how as the keeper of order and chaos, the more followers he got the more things he could bye using the system shop. It was a privilege only provided to keepers or he guessed just him.

[Now that the host has now learned a lot about the system it is time for the host to now become stronger.]
