"Throw him in here."

A button was heard being pressed. The large doors opened to reveal two men with one holding a young boy over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes.

Both men walked into the dark room. The man holding the boy threw the boy down. The boy only felt that he fell on a pile of meaty bones his eyes stared fiercely at the two men.

"Don't look at us like that boy."

The taller man came forward and kicked the boys head back. The boy's head flung back hitting whatever it was that he was on.

"The poison in your system will kill you before the sun rises." The man laughed. "Thank your uncle."

The boy looked up at the man that stood so close to him he could smell his rancid breath. No noise came from him. He only looked at the man as if he were already dead.

"Think you can still do anything boy?" The other man chimed in. "The poison makes you weak. Just like a little babe. There's no guards around you this time to protect you."

"Look at his face, Vern, just like a girl." A sinister light flashed through his eyes as he licked his lips.

"Do you want to die?" The other man said, "The poison will infect you idiot."

"Such a waste." They laughed as walked out of the room.

Darkness descended on the young boy. He could feel his body's strength leaving him. He wondered if this was going to be the end as he stared into the night sky. The dark moon was the only source of light here. He could see the twinkling stars above. Under the circumstances he was in, he could still appreciate this night sky.

Suddenly a pair of beautiful blue eyes looked down at him. The poison must have been taking effect for his body to not notice anything. Those clear eyes stared down at him with a puzzled look.

"Hurt?" a twinkling sweet voice asked lightly. Those puzzled eyes belonged to a small girl maybe 3 years old. She leaned on top of the young man looking down at him. Her pale skin seemed to glow under the moon light.

"Hurt." The boy managed to say.

The girl looked down at him. He was staring at her bright and strange eyes that seemed to change colors under the moon light. Then they started to glow. A sudden warmth seeped into his body making him feel comfortable. He could now clearly feel the small body on top of his. Her small hand touching his chest.

He stared at the small girl. Her body starting to glow as the warmth spread to every inch of his body. When the warmth traveled to his center, he felt a pop. A power with in him unleashed and filled his small frame. The force pushed everything away from him except for the small girl. They seemed to float there as if they were the only people left in the world.

The boy gently lifted his hand and stroked her fair cheek. A rare smiled graced his face as he stared at the girl. The comforting warmth in his body made it easy to deal with the overwhelming power spreading through his body.

He could hear the door opening. Loud voices traveled to his ears but were muffled by the power circling around him like a cyclone.

A sweet scent traveled to his noise. He dipped his head down to the crook of the girl's neck and breathed in her scent. It was intoxicating. His young mind could not understand this feeling, but his instinct overwhelmed him.

He bit down. Holding the small figure securely in his arms. The most wonderful liquid filled his mouth as he gulped it down. He drank until he was full, not noticing the two small hands falling to his side without any strength.

When everything calmed down. The power whirlwind around the two children subsided. The boy slowly descended holding the small girl in his arms protectively. His cold eyes looked around him and saw nothing but black ash. In his mind he remembered feeling the whirlwind suck the power from around him.

He looked down at the girl in arms. The bite mark on her neck was fading as her little body slightly glowed. Once the mark had fully disappeared and the glow of her small form subsided, she took in a shaky breath. He smiled down in relief. He looked at the small girl with a tenderness.

Just as he floated up into the sky the sun started to break over the ocean horizon. The floating fortress looked as if it was covered in a dark shadow not allowing any light to penetrate its surface. Then the boy slowly floated away.
