14 Agnee - Part 1

[Year 945, day 221, Elfen City, Elfen Elementary School, 9 am.]

A large bell rang to celebrate the entrance of the freshmen into Elfen Elementary School. The site was approximately two and a half kilometers in diameter, divided into very well organized sectors, as follows: market sector, teaching sector, culture sector, dormitory sector, and leisure sector; at the center of it all was a tower with a big golden bell. The exorbitant size was due to the fact that all children in the city were enrolled in it, regardless of their social status.

This grandiose school has been built in almost the same way as the rest of the city: by a smooth, clean and uniform rock; besides the architecture - windows, corners, among other exquisite details. Its difference from the rest of the city was the richness in detail of gold and marble of various types.

The leisure area contained several sports fields and a large grassy open area, full of trees. This is where Agnee was, playing ball with her hands together with her colleagues on a field, part of the team of the "robed ones". The objective of the game was to hit the ball between the opposing team's posts; they called it Goal, each team had seven players, one of them being the defender who tried to stop the ball from passing through the goalposts. In the two teams, team with and without the tunic, the colors of all the children's eyes were very varied; blue, gray, green, brown; there was a little bit of everything and everyone had fun playing together.

Everyone at the match was covered in dirt and some children surrounded the field to watch the game as Agnee skillfully used her powers on the ball, throwing it with absurd force or bending it at impossible angles for the goalkeeper to save.

"Is this boy really a sophomore?" - Commented one of the children watching the match from the sidelines.

Agnee was on the opponent's court, surrounded by five other players. To get rid of your opponents and get the ball, he jumped two meters off the ground, emitting a strong downward air current. The child raised his hand and shouted without looking back:

"Pass it to me, Rapha!"

Even though he could throw the ball to the other children who were free, Rapha made a strong throw to his friend in the air, which he easily caught and launched into the goal with all his strength. On the way there, a ball curved to the right and down, passing very close to the post and entering the goal, leaving the goalkeeper unresponsive. As soon as he fell to the ground after getting the point, Agnee ran to his teammates and all seven embrace.

After the game was over and they had changed in the nearest locker room, the children said their goodbyes and Rapha went with Agnee to the freshmen welcome hall. The two friends chatted as they walked through the leisure section toward the culture section. They were wearing the uniform of the second year of Elfen's elementary school, a suit, with pure white pants and jacket and a white vest with gold details - but only Rapha wore black gloves.

"Man, you are really good at hande! That jump of yours using wind, I would never have imagined that you already have power at that level. Whereas me... I cannot do anything right with the stone..."

"Relax... You will soon get better. You cannot compare yourself to me. I have been training every day since forever."

"Yeah, I know, but... I wish I could do something like that too!"

"Oh, that you can do. What you will never get is to be better than I am. Since I am amazing." - He said, laughing.

Laughing even more, Rapha answered him:

"Truth!"

The trees and grass began to lose space to the solid, smooth stone ground as they walked. A huge building was surrounded by other small buildings around it. Between two marble pilasters; fifteen meters high and four meters wide, was the entrance gate.

Arriving at the hall, the two sit in the last row, far away from the stage, to watch the presentation of the new children. The row they sat in was empty, but the hall was full of students, some in the same uniform as the two of them, others in completely white uniforms, and others in more golden uniforms.

"Just remembering makes me ashamed!" - Exclaimed Rapha.

"It's true! You were the representative in our first year... Of our huge group, we were the only ones left. Sad..."

"Stop talking as if they were dead! You stopped talking to them because you wanted to! I play with them every day normally."

Agnee looked down thoughtfully.

"It's strange to keep talking to someone who is not in your class. It feels wrong; I do not understand..."

"Sometimes I forget how strange you are, Agnee. If I go to another class next year, will you think I am dead too?"

"There is no reason for me to think about it... We will never be in different classes! As my father always says, for everything, its fate!"

"Ah, of course."

An elderly finger poked Rapha in the back. As he looked back, he saw that his teacher was asking for silence. The gray-haired teacher was wearing a gray suit and black uniform shoes, just like all male and female teachers.

"Hold still, you two! The presentation will start in a few minutes." - Said the teacher.

The vacant chairs around the two friends were in an instant filled by other children in the same uniform as the two. A girl with short, shoulder-length curly brown hair sat down next to Agnee, leaned forward entering his vision, and said:

"It's been a long time, Agnee!"

He was slightly startled by the abrupt appearance and replied:

"Sarah?" - Upon seeing Sarah, his old friend, the boy looked around and recognized many faces. – "Patrick? Drigo? Drey? What are you doing here? Altogether, like this." - Agnee said, looking from one side to the other.

"We never stopped walking together. You are the one who abandoned us, dumbass." - Said Drigo, sticking out his tongue.

A little embarrassed, with red cheeks, Agnee answered:

"Calm people, it is not on purpose."

With a piercing and sarcastic look, Rapha answered him:

"Um... So it's not on purpose, right?"

"But leaving that aside, what have you been up to, Agnee?" - Patrick asked
