1 Devil's Birth

It was in the grasslands under the bright yellow sun where the breeze feels so relaxing and peaceful enough to make anyone fall asleep. In the middle of the field, there was a middle-aged man with black-curly hair, pale skin and strangely circular horns above his head. His body has a height of 206 centimetres and a slight muscular body wearing a breech-cloth while his lower body has a goat-like appearance.

He was lying down above the short-bright green grasses as he appreciates the peacefulness. He starts to open his eyes slowly with the thought of this beautiful scenery as a gorgeous dream of him, wanting to cherish every moment, he starts to get up, he had a deep breathe with a clear mind as he saw an old lady with a white hair, wearing a peplos, a long piece of cloth and tan-wrinkled skin with pigmented spots. She was looking at him with a happy face as the goat-like man was reaching towards the old lady, she was his mother and the only one that the man have in this world. It is like a dream that he doesn't want to end yet.

It was until something bad was felt as the man realizes that he steps upon a strange thing, it is a body of a dead man filled with blood under, the surroundings get dark and the sky was angry as the sound of thunder were quite loud after the lightning were striking inside the clouds. The eyes of the man were slowly getting wide as he realize what is happening, he dozed off, it is not a gorgeous dream, it was just the thought he was having as he is now sentenced to death.

As he was looking around while his wrists were tightly tied by ropes, it was a battalion of soldiers holding spears were gathered while a large number of crowd is watching them until one of them shouted.

"Kairos! You monster!"

"You deserve to die!"

"Kill that traitor!"

The words that fiercely shouted by the people. As he turns his head to the left side and a terrible sight makes his eyes blurry realizing that they were his comrades in the past and thinking what have he done to deserve this punishment that implicated them. The only thing in his mind before the execution is a wish he hoped to be granted by the King as he looked at the leader to ask.

"I accepted and doesn't have the intention to fight back but please protect my mother and don't let her involve for what I did, she is innocent" Kairos said.

The soldier starts to bite his lower lip holding back the indication of laughter as he can't help it and showed his smile.

"Kairos, look at your back"

"You remove her mask" Soldier said.

The crowd suddenly become quiet as Kairos turned at the back and saw an old lady with a mask in her face lying down with a hole in her chest as it is the indication that she was pierced and already dead. The soldier starts to remove the mask slowly and saw the face of the one that he was reaching in his dream earlier, it was her mother.

His tears were dropping slowly and his face starts to turn to look like an embodiment of anger and vengeance as he gritted his teeth and screamed while charging one of the soldiers with his head. The soldier got knocked down and the other ones starts to attack Kairos as he stepped on the spear of the one he charged and starts to rub the ropes to the blade to cut it.

One of the soldiers starts to point the blade to Kairos' back but before it could touch him; Kairos has turned and parried the spear with the one he picked from another soldier. While it is parried, he suddenly kicked the enemy's chest to push the soldier back and slashed his neck as the other soldier pierced Kairos to the gut from the back.

He vomited a lot of blood but that attack is not enough to kill him yet as he pushed his weapon to make it longer and attack his back, the spear pierced the enemy's eye but due to the number of soldiers charging at him, he was pierced on different parts of his body one by one, the blood in his torso starts to spread as he looked down and kneel. His eyesight starts to get dark as the eyelids were nearly closed until the leader of the army commanded.

"Burn him down" Leader said.

The leader's name was Cephalus. The soldiers starts to throw haystack to Kairos, he is still conscious and pulling one of the spears in his body while one of the soldiers gave a flaming torch to Cephalus and telling farewell to Kairos. He is looking at the nearly-dead body of Kairos as he is pointing the torch to the haystack to start to burn him down, the fire starts to spread but Kairos starts to scream.

"You, Cephalus! The king! All of you!"

-He shouted unclearly while trembling.

"Rememb-"

As Kairos vomited blood again and reaching his final moment. His mouth and his voice starts to weakened.

"Remember this; I will kill all of you."

"You will regret this."

"I am Kairos."

"I will not die."

Kairos has died.

"The End"

It is the lips of a young man in his 20s with black crimped hair but brushed up and a pale skin said those words. It was in the middle of a room located at the highest floor inside the 48-storey tower in the city; it was night and dark where the moon and the stars are glistening. The man is wearing a classy purple tuxedo, black necktie, slack pants and brown formal shoes. He was holding a wineglass with martini and drinks some of it. He inhaled deep as soon as the liquor in the glass was consumed and he slowly close down the book titled "The Satyr's Curse" shown at the cover. He comfortably sat down while appreciating the beauty of the sky and city lights.

"Ring! Ring!"

Someone was calling him at the phone, his eyes that appreciates the scenery starts to look down as he answered to the phone.

"Sir, the inauguration has already started." -Said by the caller.

"Let's begin." -The young-man said.

As he ended the call and looks back at the sky again, his lips starts to smile slightly giving an indication that something dangerous will happen.

At the 4th floor of the tower, there was an inauguration address of the new CEO of the company called "Synergy". It was the highest-grossing company in the country of Lois. The event was organized inside the large-spaced room with only glass windows and 3 doors for entrance, exit and a fire-exit. It is where the executives, business partners, investors that wear formal attire while sitting were gathered. The CEO has an appearance of brown and brushed-up hair, styled formally, rounded eyebrows, brown eyes, smooth white skin, pointed nose, and partly athletic body wearing gray suit and blue necktie.

As the new CEO sitting at the side of the stage, he finished drinking the red-wine as soon as the host introduced him. He stood up and starts to walk to the middle of the dais and held the microphone attached as his mouth got open to talk about the accomplishments and plans for the future, he was getting dizzy but enduring it not to cause any disturbances for the celebration.

Just as before the speech was finished, he passed out and his body was laid down leaving the crowd to a shock thinking what happened. The guards starts to hold him and transported him immediately to the car outside the building, they drove with dangerously fast speed while the two policemen were riding motorcycles with sirens to indicate the driveway.

The driver of the car has a short hair, white-smooth skin, wearing all black formal-attire and shades. He starts to smile and laugh as he shoots the other 2 guards while driving. He then told to policemen at his side to turn off the sirens to silent down and reach their destination.

As they reach the place, it is not the hospital, it is a warehouse. As the driver commanded the policemen to escort the CEO, he opened the trunk of the car and brought out a backpack and followed them inside. It is a dark open-space inside the warehouse, there is a metal cross and a chain neck attached at the top of the cross as the driver earlier picked up an advanced iris scanner inside the bag and opened the eyelids of the CEO forcefully as it scanned his eyes.

"Crucify him"

As he commanded the policemen and they immediately bring ladders as the cross is tall and tied his wrist and feet there with the ropes while his arms are wide open, they taped his mouth and locked his neck with the chain neck. And as soon as he woke up, the classy young-man with black slight-crimped hair wearing purple tuxedo and a black necktie was walking towards him while holding a bouquet of baby's breath. The young man smiled at the driver earlier and commanded him to wait him at the car.

The driver smiled again and exited the place as he go to the city, the CEO struggles as he wanted to be freed knowing his gold will be stolen. The young man shoots the gun at the side of his face that nearly hit him, made his eyes got wide open and teary as the young man told him something.

"My bullets can only hit two things, the ropes or the chain, depends on your decision is what I am going to aim."

The young man gave a piece of formal paper to one of the policemen and commanded them to hand over the pen to CEO to sign the contract while his wrists were tied up, one of the policemen were holding the paper so the CEO can sign it.

"If you sign the contract, I will shoot your chains and free you, but if you don't, you will die there at the cross. But don't worry, you have 3 chances, shoot your left wrist, then your little feet but if you still fail to sign that contract, then I'll shoot your right wrist and you will die by hanging yourself so now decide."

Said by the young man with a smile on his face, the contract was just a proof to let them get in the bank where the gold bars and money are. The mysterious young man counted 5 seconds but the CEO still didn't sign. He shoot the left wrist but only the ropes were hit, enabled the CEO to move his hand but still can't do anything, he then remove the tape in his mouth and shouted.

"Yes! I will sign it!"

The face of the young man smiled and let him did it. The CEO signed the contract due to the fear of death but his tears were dropping.

"Now, free me! I did what you want, now let me go!" -He shouted.

"Okay, free him." - The young man said.

The 2 policemen now brought haystack from one of the rooms of the warehouse and placed it at the bottom of the cross, then they pour a gallon of gasoline on it indicating he will be burned to death.

"Hey! Free me! What are you doing?!" -CEO said.

"You're fired." - As the young man replied.

The mysterious young man shot the policemen's heads and looked at the CEO's eyes and starts to step backwards.

"FREE ME! Who are you, you devil?! Free me!"

The young man put his hands in his pockets and got a lighter, he then fires the bouquet of baby's breath he's holding and threw in the haystack, the fire spread rapidly and it was huge enough to reach the body of the CEO, the ropes in his feet and wrists were burned and dying because of two reasons. Hanging himself or from burning.

"I am Janus." -Said by the mysterious young man.

His name is Janus Nephus. He is the reincarnation of Kairos.
