1 Chapter 1

I have to be the unluckiest person in the whole world.

Well, maybe not exactly, I have a family, a place to live and I can remember almost every little thing that had happened in your life.

Not that it always was good. I remember the bad experiences as well as the good, sometimes even better.

But everything else... I am clumsy, unpopular, I get sick really fast... and I am not that good at making friends and socializing.

So, most of the time I was alone. Well, at least until...

"(Y/N)-chan!" Kiyoko called.

I flinched at her voice and dropped my history book by accident.

"K-Kiyoko senpai?" I asked.

"I want you to join the boys' volleyball team."

"What?!"

"I know it's really sudden, but you're not in any other club, right? I heard you had a good memory, so I want you to help me out since I'm quite busy these days and Yachi is gone right now."

All eyes were on us two.

I was really nervous. Kiyoko is so popular...

I wasn't exactly jealous though.

I didn't want that much attention, neither could I meet everyone's expectations.

But joining the volleyball team... that would mean I got to see Kageyama Tobio really often!

I had had a crush on him since about two months ago. I sat a few desks behind him and couldn't help but stare at the back of his head at almost all times.

I got excited, I really, really wanted to join! One problem. I was speechless.

"(Y/N)?" Kiyoko said, "You don't have to answer right now, just think about it."

"Kiyoko-san?" I heard a voice behind you say.

I immediately recognized it. Kageyama.

Of course, what else could you expect when you are so unlucky?

"Good Morning, Kageyama." Kiyoko answered.

"Why are you here?" he said.

"Well, remember when I said I needed some help with the volleyball club?" Kageyama nodded. "and I asked you guys to tell me about people you think could be helpful, and you suggested her. Have you forgotten?"

He suggested?

Kageyama looked kind of shocked to hear that too.

"No, I remember" he mumbled. He looked at the ground, then picked something up. "you dropped this."

My book...

"Oh... thanks!" he handed me my book, then nodded and left.

"Bye!" he said, while lifting his right arm.

"So, what do you think?" Kiyoko asked.

I turned back to her.

"I-I'd love to join!" I quickly replied.

"Nice, then I'll see you after school today. They will have practice, and I'll learn you the basics then. Bye!" she said and left.

Suddenly, I felt a whole lot luckier.
