Chapter 1Pilot

I tighten my closed eyes in an attempt to soothe my headache, I feel the wind brush up against my bare shoulders and let out a sneeze. I can hear a high-pitched voice call out to me, yet I ignore it, which seemed to make it upset. I slightly open my eyes to take a peek, "Quiet down.." I say in a whisper, my head was already in pain, that voice was no help.

"Hey! Paimon just wanted to help! No need to be so rude..." shouts the voice, it seemed to be getting closer.

I open my eyes widely in surprise, which I quickly regretted as the bright sun hits my eyes, I groan at the sudden pain. Still, I manage to look at the two figures in front of me.

"Finally awake? Well, I guess there's nothing for traveler and Paimon to worry about!" says the floating fairy as she puts her hands on her hips and frowns. She looks over to the blonde human next to her, signaling it's time to leave.

"Wait, don't go yet!" I come to my senses and realise what was going on, this must be a dream, and I would wake up soon, so I may as well speak to them!

"Oh? What is it," Paimon turns back around to me, "If you need anything, we can help!" she says reassuringly.

"You guys are the traveler and Paimon, right?" I inquire.

"That's right, but how do you know that?" Paimon looks at me with confused eyes while slightly backing away.

"No need to be freaked out, you've said your names a bunch of times!" I let out a cheeky laugh to ease the mode, before looking down to inspect both my hands and surroundings, I'm wearing dark gloves with zippers at each of the fingers which connects to the rest of my outfit, I could feel my hair brush up against the back of my clothes, slightly tickling me. I look back up and glance over behind me, I could see Mondstadt neither too close nor too far from where we are. I then hear a lower-pitched voice speak from in front of me.

"Are you alright? I'm sorry about my companion, she's...emergency food. So don't mind her." traveler speaks this with a serious and confident tone, earning a gasp from Paimon.

"HEY, PAIMON IS NOT EMERGENCY FOOD!" the white-headed fairy kicks one of her legs up and down in the air, looking at the traveler.

The traveler places their hand on their heart, "Right, I apologize, Paimon is not emergency food." traveler assures Paimon of this and faces back towards me. "Is there anything we can do for you?" traveler offers their hand to me, I hadn't noticed I had been sitting on the ground.

I reach out for their hand and wipe the front of my clothes, I give them both a smile and say in my nicest tone possible "Well, could you guys continue forward towards Mondstadt as soon as you can, like now?" I look around the place, honestly, I'm surprised I'm still here, this may be my longest dream, and everything seems so real. The reason I had been looking towards Mondstadt a lot was that I had hoped to go there to see some people, mostly Kaeya, but I know that's not possible, I'd have to be asleep for so long.

Traveler and Paimon stare directly at me for a while, before Paimon speaks up, "We were heading towards Mondstadt anyways, what's the hurry though?" she crosses her arms and tilts sideways.

I stare back at them with confidence, "No reason, it's just that the guards are gonna give you trouble to go in at night time." I'm not sure if that's true at all but it was the first thing I had thought of, and both of them seemed to believe it too.

"Well, I guess Paimon and traveler should be going now...it was nice meeting you!" Paimon and the traveler begin to walk towards Mondstadt at a faster pace.

I let out a sigh and slump back down against a tree, there's no way this is a dream, I must have reality shifted or something, it all seems so real and it's been going on forever, either way, I had to make the most of it. I get back up to look for a body of water, I quickly spot a small pond, I'm not gonna drink any, but I want to see my reflection.

I first see (e/c) eyes staring back, I look at my hair, it stops at my hips, it's (h/c) and (h/l). This all reminds me of something, I'm not sure though, a certain character maybe?

I decided to not waste any more time, I have to get to Mondstadt, but I wouldn't want to run into traveler and distract them again, they needed to get to Mondstadt before anything else. First I have to wait for Dvalin to fly over, surprisingly it doesn't seem that he already did even when I was holding Paimon and the traveler up. I walk on the path towards Mondstadt slowly, after a few more seconds a big shadow passes above me, which could only be Dvailn. That was my sign that I could speed up my walking, after Dvailn, Amber should show up after traveler gets their anemo powers, so I can't be too hasty.

I waited a few more minutes before I start trying to get to Mondstadt, they had to be there by this time, and I could already see the sky turning grey.

I walk to the front of Mondstadt before slowing down, this was it, I was here, it's a beautiful place that anyone would be happy to go to. I greet the guards before walking in quickly, hoping they wouldn't question me.

I look around admiring the city, I wasn't sure where I should go to be safe from the storm, so I walk faster up to the center of Mondstadt. I look for the statue of Barbatos and once I found it I kept my distance, I wouldn't want to get too close to where the storm is, so I sit down on the nearest bench. Paimon and the traveler should be somewhere near here, by this time they should be with Amber in Mondstadt trying out a wind glider and should fly through at any moment. I close my eyes as I lay back on the bench, it wouldn't be good if I fell asleep so I'm in an uncomfortable position.

I feel something blow directly on my right ear, which I knock off as the wind becoming stronger, but it continues. I open my eyes and with an annoyed expression I face over to my right, to be greeted by blueish-purple eyes, looking directly into my eyes, before I could say anything, he speaks first.

"You shouldn't be here," he backs away from me but maintains his smile before pointing at the sky, "a storm is coming." he looks back over at me and winks before getting up. "If you want to be safe you should head over to the Church, stranger."

Before I could respond he had already been leaving, and I wouldn't know what to say, I wouldn't want to embarrass myself because I knew I'd be biting my tongue with every word I'd try to say to him. Still flustered, I get up and start my way up to the Church, once I got there I sat on one of the stairs, I wanted to see the storm.

After a minute or two I could see the tornado form and a big and small figure being lifted into it, quickly one glider was deployed, lifting them slightly to the back of Stormterror, I could almost see the wind blades being shot onto Stormterror and the two figures moving abnormally in the sky, Stormterror flys away, and the two in the sky glides down back towards the ground.

That was exciting, who knew it's so much better in real life! I slowly sit up from the stairs and stretch, once again my head starts to ache, but it feels worse. I fall back onto one of the steps and bring my left hand to my temple, the ringing was getting higher and higher, I close my eyes tight and bring my head down, a flash of pictures run around in my head, what seems like a story, not of a character, but of me! Whatever this was was showing me what I'm doing here and who I am, it turns out I was reincarnated and as one of my OC's. Of course, that's why I looked familiar, this was one of my favorite OC's that I wrote to live in the Genshin universe! I didn't make her a full story, as I never thought about the start of her story, how she got to Teyvat, how she made friends with everyone in Teyvat. This character was very mysterious and like the traveler, came from another world, after a while in her story I got bored and let everyone find out her secrets, as in she just showed them as she feared nothing. She was the Princess of her world and had lived for thousands of year's, she could leave Teyvat whenever she wished to, but she preferred to stay in Teyvat for a while as she got attached to the people there, but she'd feel strange to stay for such a reason, and so she told her peers at her homeland that she would be staying in the world of Teyvat to gather information and take over the whole land. In Mondstadt her best friend was Venti, though she related the most to Childe and could be compared to him as if they were the same person. She knew everyone personally but her favorite was in fact, Kaeya Alberich.

This was a load of information but it wouldn't be hard to remember, I had been making this character since I was twelve 10 years ago, but I never did anything with her after about 4 years because the story seemed cliche and cringe, I had made her super powerful and secretly someone with bad intentions.

What I was surprised about was how I'm reincarnated and as this OC out of all, she's the opposite of the real me, she's what I would have liked to be but a way less shy version of me, I would have to adapt to her life here from the start at that, it seems no one knows me and I remember that this OC came to Teyvat a few years after the traveler, and much like them she hadn't gone anywhere in Teyvat for year's, but went to Mondstadt a few days after the traveler, this I had already messed up, but I don't think that was super important.

There was no time to be sitting around anymore, it was getting dark and I felt the need to at least speak to some people, since my OC's best friend was Venti I might as well go to Angels Share and hope he walks in. I walk down from the stairs by the Church and quicken my pace towards Angels Share, I reach the door to the Tavern, and wasting no time, I pull it open. I was instantly hit by the sweet aroma of sweet wine, in my past life I'd never been big on drinking, I had only sipped a few wines in my last life so you could tell I wasn't a big drinker. I look around and my eyes stop on a tall figure behind the bar, with a shade of red hair and black clothes, he's talking to another customer who takes their wine and begins to walk up the stairs. I'm very nervous because I knew this was Diluc, Diluc is one of my favorite characters, my 5th to be exact, yet he still makes my heart race. I walk up to the bar and sit down on one of the stools, I had no choice but to stay here if I wanted to make friends with them, Venti would be in the front once he walks in, and while waiting for him I can make conversation with Diluc. I calm my nerves, my character didn't get nervous about matters like these, Diluc looks my way for a moment, seeming to be thinking of something, which didn't help my heart so I had to say something.

"Hello...," I glance away from the man pretending to think about my order, I wanted to try Kaeyas favorite drink and Dandelion wine, "I'll take two Dandelion wines and one Death After Noon," I say this trying to be confident even though I had no clue if that was the right name for Kaeyas drink.

Diluc nods his head and turns to the shelves, after a few seconds he hands me three drinks. I give him my thanks and take one in my hand, which I could tell was the Dandelion wine.

While I'm here, I might as well chat Diluc up, all I have to do is start up some sort of conversation, easy enough right?

I look up from the glass and open my mouth to speak, but Diluc beats me to it.

"I haven't seen you around before, are you a traveler?" he wasn't looking at me but I could tell he was talking to me.

"Ah, yes. I come from a faraway place, I hear Mondstadt is a nice place to go to on travels so here I am." I was still flustered that he spoke to me first, what happened to him not being interested in chit-chat? I take a glance towards him but quickly look away as he seemed to be looking directly at me too, I could feel my heart racing but I remain calm on the outside. My heart finally calms down once he turns away to take an order.

I look back down to the drinks, I may as well try the Dandelion wine first, I bring the cup up to my mouth and hesitate to take a sip. I end up taking in a mouth full of it, it leaves a tingling feeling on my tongue, it's sweet but not too sweet, it's not as hard to swallow as wines that I had in my past life, where most would burn my throat, but this one wasn't as strong. If I were to gulp down a thing of wine like this in my own body, I'd be out cold, but lucky for me my OC had high alcohol tolerance.

After a few moments, I had finished both cups of Dandelion wines, I was reaching for the Death After Noon drink when chimes sound from the door, signaling someone was coming in. I freeze for a moment to run through my mind of who it could be, I'm hoping it's Venti because I wasn't ready to see Kaeya again, and my first plan involves Venti.

The person who had just arrived seems to be making a ruckus already, the person groans in annoyance and drags their feet on the ground. I look over to Diluc to see his reaction if he reacts with annoyance the person could be Kaeya or Venti, if not then it would be a regular customer. It seems not even Diluc can hide his annoyance, for a second I see his face turn into a deeper frown and I hear him click his tongue. There was no need for me to think who it may be because the person finally speaks.

"Oh, master Diluc~ did ya miss me? I'll take the usual!" as these words are spoken the person drags over to the bar, and places an arm on the table. He was mere inches away from my shoulder, so he turns and excuses himself before going back onto bugging Diluc.

As Dilucs job right now is to take orders, he can't say no, and he must have gotten use to this by now. He holds out his hand signaling for mora. The boy now has a troubled look on his face, he backs away from the bar before speaking again,

"Come on master Diluc, no need to be so cold. Uhm here, I'll do a performance to pay for my drinks! You all want a performance, right?" He looks my way as he says this with puppy eyes, probably wanting me to agree with him.

I could hear Diluc sigh behind me, so I decided to step in. "I can pay for him...I wouldn't mind paying for his drinks I mean." I say this without hiding my somewhat nervous voice, to be honest, I wasn't sure how I was even going to pay for my drinks, I don't think I have any mora on me, but I have to own this moment.

Venti looks at me with hopeful eyes, seeming to be secretly praising me, "Oh but I can't let you do that, no need to trouble yourself over poor me." Venti says this in a dramatic tone but also not meaning it, he looks over and winks at me.

"No, it's fine! I have enough to spare." I give him a smile and look over to Diluc to tell him it's fine, lucky for me, Diluc still hasn't asked for me to give him mora first.

"Oh sweet! Okay then, I'll takeeeee 10 Dandelion wines please!" Venti holds up 10 fingers proudly and looks over at me with a grin.

I had to stop myself from almost spitting out the wine I was drinking, what was he thinking, there's no way he could drink 10 wines! And with someone else money at that. Diluc lets out a sigh again before turning to the shelves, he pours one cup of Dandelion wine and pushes it over to Venti.

Venti frowns at this, "I asked for 10, this is one." he holds up five fingers and points at his index finger.

"I'll keep giving you more if I think you can have more." Diluc turns away from Venti and faces towards me, "What's his limit? If you're paying, you should choose."

I think before answering, I have no money so I'd have to be smart about this, "It doesn't matter. You can give him how much he wants." I say this without thought.
